My first meeting with Dr. Cahill was great. I was immediatly at ease. Dr. Cahill went over my medical backround, asked what I expected and then told me what would be the best surgery for me.rnrnWorking with his team of professionals, (Tony & Donna so far) has been a real pleasure. rnrnOk, so here is the rest of my story for the surgeon and his team. I had my 5 day-follow up with Dr. Cahill. It seems like they schedule EVERYONE who had surgery on the same day at the same time, so the office was crowded when I got there. It took a little longer that I expected to see the doc, but then again maybe I was just so tired and sore having only had surgery 4 days prior to coming in to see him. After the wait, he spent maybe 4-5 minutes with me, hardly giving me time to ask the questions I had. My mom and sister were in the room with me and had a couple of questions as well. It felt as if we were the last ones, and we were holding him up from something more important.rnrnI still think he is a very gifted surgeon, albeit a little rushed, but I am healing well, with minimal discomfort, so I am still satisified.rnrnOk... in all fairness, an update on my 2nd appointment...rnActually, I screwed up my appointment date.. I wrote down the wrong day. Donna called and rescheduled me and I still got it mixed up. So FINALLY i made it the next time, and Dr. Cahill came over from the hospital. He was pleasant as always... and this time I felt that he did take time for all my questions and concerns. ( I was also feeling 100% better than I did at the first appointment). So, yes, I am completely happy with my experiences, and any blah or crabby experiences that I may have felt the first time were probably because I was so 'fresh' out of surgery and not feeling my best...rnMy 3rd post-op appointment is in Feb. '08. I will post again after that.rnrnrn
My first impression of Dr Cahill was \"I love this man!\" LOL Mainly because he called me a \"lightweight\" *snort*rnrnHe went over everything in detail, and was so patient with any and all of my questions. His staff is unbeatable, Tony is there for you 100% and Donna is wonderful too, always that cheerful voice on the phone.rnrnI haven't had my surgery yet, but I am very hopeful. Dr Cahill has done over 1000 surgeries, and the program is great.rnrnthe support group meetings have been wonderful, they are all patients of Dr Cahill, and I have heard the good and the bad. rnrnI fell very lucky that my insurance is covering this, and that the hospital is the same one that I had three of my babies delivered.
He was my sister's surgeon, so I knew about him. He is very sympathetic and caring. He explains the surgery to you to your understanding. His staff are excellent. They are really friendly and knowledgeable. There is a structured aftercare program with a nutionists, psychiatrist and support groups. The quality of his care is excellent. Although I was scared of the surgery, he really eased my mind and I am glad that I chose him.
My first impression of Dr. Cahill was he's a \"get it done\" type of guy. I was very impressed wth his direct approach in assessing my needs. He was very straight-forward which is what I admired most. I read lots of good things about Dr. Cahill and Im finding them all to be true, His assistant Donna is also very nice.
Dr Cahill is an extremely professional surgeon. My first impression of him was that I had found the right surgeon for me. He is extremely well informed, and takes the time to educate patients about the entire scope of what they are facing. I found him to be an outstanding surgeon...a perfectionist! My surgical procedure was done so meticulously! i am very lucky. I cannot recommend a surgeon any more highly than I recommend dr Gerald Cahill.
My first impression of Dr. Cahill was that of a competent, professional Doctor. He performed a brief exam and explanation of the procedure. I was given a book by the receptionist to review while I waited for the Doctor to enter the exam room--no long wait! Dr. Cahill asked if I had any questions after his discussion, and I only had a few. I pretty much already understood the RNY procedure. I felt comfortable with the office staff and the office is quiet. The office even has chairs to accommodate a fuller figure. I know Dr. Cahll has an excellent, structured aftercare program. However, he didn't go into details about this during the consult; he made sure, though, that his receptionist (Donna) gave me the information to attend the seminar next week. All the details are outlined during the seminar. Actually, I was sent seminar information, along with my paperwork, in the mail. It was my fault for not attending prior to my appointment. I am very happy with my decision to go with Dr. Cahill.
I really like Dr Cahill, he has a very good personality. He tell you exactly what to expect the good and the bad. He is an excellant doctor and very knowoledgable in his field. He has done a whole lot of Gastric Bypass and know what to expect or almost . He take very good care of you and he staff is just as effiecient as he is. Everyone is just super. The hopital is superior to any other I have been too. rnrnHe has wonderful bedside manner and surgical competence. rnrnWould recommend him to anyone that is in his area to visit with him first.rn
My first impression of Dr. Cahill was actually his receptionist Donna... she is such a sweetheart. I was very scared when I called. I had been through so much trying to go through different surgical centers and programs. They did not make me jump through hoops. As for my actual impression of Dr. Cahill... he is the FIRST doctor who has ever told me that he did not want me to get down to 140lbs. He saw my stature and doesn't think that is a healthy weight for me. My goal of 170-180 is something that I can see honestly. rnrnDr. Cahill is a very smart and very funny man. He moves quickly. I began my process 1st week of May 2006 and was in the operating room on July 17th. I was simply amazed. His entire team--- Dr. Robinson, Dr. Sunbulli, Tony, and everyone are great. They are all very wonderful people and I am grateful to them for all that they have done for me. rnrnNow about his bedside manner... its good. We need to talk about his poking me in the side with those dang swabs after my infection. No seriously.. he knows what he has to do..and he does it... no if's, and's, or but's. rnHe explained what could and would happen with the surgery and hit the nail right on the head. rnrnHe is a good man and I would recommend him to anyone interested in this surgery.
