The first time I met Cahill was close to 18 months ago. It was Tony who made it all happen for me. Insurance was denied and he did not give up. Cahill ran tests and documented his findings. Tony along with my attorney managed to get it all together. Through the months of waiting and questioning my next move he was right there every time I called. He always had the time to update me and keep me in the loop as to what was happening. It was worth the wait. I am scheduled for Surgery September 25, 2008. Dr. Cahill upon acceptance of my insurance attended to me as if no time had lapsed. Truly a heartfelt interest in my life changing descision. Donna at the front desk is remarkable. She is kind and knowedgable and just works so hard to have everything perfect for you. Tony who is the coordinator and the aftercare consultant is just a remarkable person. He really knows his stuff. I had a class with him last Friday. All my questions are answered, all my fears are gone. I know my risks, I know just what I need to do before and after and it is also all in writing. I know what is required of me, and, I know that I am in the best hands that I could possibly be in. As far as the hospital, Little Company of Mary, I have never been so impressed. There was not one issue for all of the presurgical testing. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I am truly blessed to have found this surgeon and his staff. I have no regrets. Wish me luck. I will keep eveyone posted.
My first impression of Dr.Cahill was that he was going to be a cool guy and turned out i was right. Atleast i think so lol i have only been to see him once and that was for my consultation. But while i was there i was totally comfortable with what he was saying and everything like that. rnrnDr.Cahill is very cute and has an amazing slight country accent which is awesome. But yeah all in all i believe he is going to be a very caring doctor someone who you can trust your life with and not be afraid that you aren't going to wake up. rnrnI would describe his staff as being very nice, clean, and warm. I hate walking into an office and the receptionist looks at you as though you weren't supposed to be there. another thing that i like about Dr.Cahill's office is that they offer larger seating then average doctors offices which is a plus in many ways. I mean im sure everyone can agree with me when they try to have a seat and they cant get back up or it hurts the outsides of your thighs to even sit there. rnrni would rate him and his staff as a 15/15 for being so kind and very warm to patients. Honestly i think his bedside manner is fantastic hes someone that will take care of you the whole way through not just hand you off to the nurses. but his surgical competence is very VERY keen and he knows what hes talking about. So for all of you who are thinking about not going with this doctor because of all the things you have to do and all the leg work you gotta get done with Tony dont worry about it its all worth it once those 6 months are over. rnrnHe lets you know everything you need to know and everything you actually dont need to know. So news flash hes a great doctor. My only negative thing to say is that parking sucks and getting there on time really sucks also especially if you have to drive down 95th street and cross over those train tracks after evergreen park mall.
Here is the deal. Everything pre-op was perfect. Tony (the most amazing RN in the entire universe) helped me get insurance approval and every phone call and email I annoyed these people with was taken care of in a timely matter. My surgery went well. Dr. Cahill did an excellent job. The team in the OR were so great. When they wheeled me into the OR everyone in there was absolutely lovely. The anesthesiologists were very thorough in explaining exactly what would be happening and I really liked that because that kind of stuff had me nervous as well. I drove myself nuts before the surgery with fear but it was the easiest part. The only complaint I had about the hospital stay is the girls who help the nurses, they were horrible. When I came home my spleen was messed up because I fell off the bed. And I was back in the hospital again. Now again, Dr. Cahill and Tony and everyone they work with took really good care of me, got it all straightened out and made sure that they repaired my spleen. Post-op has been great as well. Dr. Cahill makes sure he sees you so many times to keep an eye on how things are doing. There really are so many wonderful things to say about this group I could write a mini-book. If anyone reading this is considering them, feel free to contact me. If you choose them you really are in good hands.
I enjoyed Dr Cahill. He is not as hands on as I would like, he leaves a lot of that to his program manager, Tony. Tony however is very knowledgeable and takes time in answering your questions and has a great bedside manner. rnrnThis program doesn't shut down after surgery. There are several things in place for you to get involved in. rnrn1) Nutrition Class - I throughly enjoyed the class, it was small all of us were just a week post op and had a lot to share about the things we were feeling.rnrn2) Support Sessions - nothing really to say yet, I go to my 1st one on Tuesday.rnrn3) Availabliity of Staff - We have been provided with phone numbers and e-mail addresses for all staff personnell and so far we have gotten a quick response.rnrn4) Pre Surgery Class - This addressed EVERYTHING! This was the time to address any concerns. All Questions were answered with regards to the surgery process and the after.rnrnOverall, my experience has been very good, so far! But I am only 9 days post op. We will see!!
I appreciate Dr. Cahill's candidness, professionalism and knowledge. I have had no complication and I am 5 months post op. I would recommend him to anyone interested in the WLS. The staff and bariatric team is very knowledgeable, helpful and available. They either provide you with everything you need or help you find a way to get it. They are also concerned with your success. The program is extrememly structured with some requiered classes and optional ones also. There is a support group availble for anyone interested in taking advantage of them. They were honest and upfront about the risk. Overall I givel Dr. Cahill and his team a 10!
Very nice and professional.rnrnI only met him once so far so good.rnwhen they had cancelled my surgury I was so upset the Dr. called me himself very personable an respectfull. rnrnTina is great extremely upbeat and very energetic and informative.rnrnNothing loved them all!!!!!!!rn rnHe also has an office at St. James South Campus in Olympia Feilds. I told them to try to get bigger chairs for the clients cause we are bigger and small chairs don't work for us large people. Sometimes it is hard to get a hold of his staff you have to leave a msg and wait for them to call back. I understand people are busy but I like answers right when I call.rnrnVery important and yes they incourage aftercare programs.rnrnYes he did address the risk of surgury even explaining if need be you might be opened up and death!rnrnOn a scale of 1-10 so far of what I know of him him and his staff get a 10.rnrnboth are great !!!!!!!!!
HE OBVIOUSLY DID A GREAT JOB W/ MY SURGERY SINCE I AM HOME W/ NO COMPLICATIONS. I JUST WOULD HAVE PREFERRED A VISIT FROM HIM AFTER SURGERY BEFORE I LEFT THE HOSPITAL. I KNOW HE IS A BUSY MAN, BUT HE IS MY SURGEON.THA AND HE TENDS TO BE A LITTLE TARDY. BUT I WOULDN'T CHOOSE ANOTHER SURGEON OVER HIM EVEN FOR A COUPLE MINOR FLAWS.
