I had actually gone to another surgeon's seminar and decided to let him perform the surgery but for whatever reason, found Dr. Garth's name on my insurance list and just wanted to hear what he had to say. His seminar was very informative and I could see and feel his passion for helping people who struggle with the disease of obsesity. I decided to make an appointment with him. I couldn't decide which surgery to have and unlike the first surgeon who basically said - It's up to you, Dr. Garth was very different and actually talked to me at length and ended with - I'll do either surgery on you, but if you were my family member... And that is exactly what I needed to hear. The other thing that sold me was the follow-up programs he encourages his patients to participate in. I knew this would be vital to my success. rnrnHis office called me every month to check and see how I was doing as I was working to meet my insurance requirements. Insurance approved on the first try. I was a little worried when Big Medicine started showing about his practice getting so big he wouldn't have that personal touch, but that hasn't been the case at all. Any time I have had questions, before or since the surgery, he personally answers them. I could not ask for any better than him.

My first impression of Dr. Davis was that he is the one for me. He was down to earth, had a sense of humor but you could also tell he knows his stuff.rnrnHis office staff have been great. My insurance company has been giving us fits but they know exactly what do and are very encouraging. Trisha who has been great knows what the company expects and knows how to get through all the red tape. She keeps calm and focused even when I am not. rnrnSo far I have not found anything to like least about him. Future patients should know that Dr. Davis has the patient's best interest at heart and will tell you like it is. He listens to you and does not rush you out of the office as some doctors do.rnrnHe emphasizes aftercare as much as he does the surgery itself. He does have a structured aftercare program. It is with Methodist Hospital at the Medical Center in Houston. he is the director of it.rnrnThe risks of surery were very well addressed. Before you can even make an appointment with him, you have attend a seminar about the surgery. At the seminar I went to he was the surgeon presenting that night. A power point presentation was given and if someone had a question then he stopped to answer it. The next thing was to get printed material that again explained the surgery and its risks. I also got a binder with all the information as to what will happen from the day you are okayed to go ahead with the surgery. It tells every step of the way and what to expect.rnrnNow that I am five months post op I can say I still think that Dr. Garth Davis is the greatest. No matter what questions I had or when I had a couple of problems he was on the phone in person talking to me about them. rnrnBoth his bedside manner and surgical competence is fantastic. I would suggest him or his father to anyone comptemplating surgery.rn

I have met Dr. Garth Davis once at his office, I enjoyed my meeting with him. He was very frank and honest about the procedure. He answered all of my questions. I am very impressed with his office staff, they seem very caring and knowledgeable. I look forward to my second office visit and to get my surgery date set. rn

My first impression of Dr. Garth was that he was very knowledgeable. He has wonderful bedside manners, he is very sweet and has a sense of humor. He truly cares about his patients. His office staff have always been very helpful and returned phone calls. Dr. Garth has an extensive before and after care program. Which I think is exteremely important, and he requires that you do both programs. After completing the pre-op program I feel very prepared for my surgery. I am ready! And I know that I will be taken care of with the aftercare program. I feel very blessed and thankful to be under the care of Dr. Garth and his team at Methodist Hospital. I feel that both surgical competence and beside manner are of equal importance.

Drs. Garth and Robert Davis are absolutely wonderful! I met with Dr. Garth D. yesterday, and today I have my surgery date of Feb. 21! (It went so fast because I've already been approved and have had all my tests)rnrnTheir office staff is friendly and warm, and I'm really looking forward to working with them.rnrnI have a huge packet to read all about the surgery and aftercare, but it's all easy to understand. rnrnThe Drs. Davis are heading up the new Bariatric Unit here at Methodist hospital. When it's finished, they will have all the resources for all the tests you need contained in the one clinic: Psych, nutrition, ultrasound, cardiology, etc.rnrnI have great confidence in their surgrical competence, and their bedside manner is wonderful.

My first impression of Garth was that he was a man who really knew what he was talking about. I felt VERY confident that he was very well-versed on the issues related to obesity surgery and that he was certainly a top-notch surgeon.rnrnOver time, I found that my first impression was right on. What I also discovered was that he is a surgeon who cares very much about his patients and their well-being. He takes the time to really listen to what you have to say when you sit down to talk to him, and you never feel like he's in a rush when he's with you.rnrnGarth has a very good aftercare program. He has monthly support group meetings, and he always attends. He's an amazing resource for us at those meetings.rnrnI find that Garth has outstanding surgical skills AND a great bedside manner. He is not only talented as a surgeon, he is a caring, wonderful person. I would recommend him as a surgeon in a heartbeat!
