Dr. Wynn is awesome! I met with her in December 2004 but Lap-Band wasn't really done with people of my size and I wasn't ready for gastric bypass. She was very honest without being rude or uncaring. I went back to see her in 2007 after Lap-Band had become more \"popular\" and she was still very informative and caring. I would recommend Chrias to anyone having bariatric surgery in this area.
updated! rnconsult w/ dr. wynn 2/29/07rni really liked everyone so far. i did feel that my time with dr wynn could have been a bit more in depth but i dont have any bad feelings. she was very nice and very willing to put me through the program. im definetly ready!! i cant wait to continue!rnrnrnrnrnconsult in 02? (hampton va)rnrnmy first impression was a good one i guess. my original surgon was dr. hopson but he was deployed. i dont know anyone whos had dr moscoso for the surgery so im kinda feelin odd about it. i did meet a lady who had him for several surgeries just not wls, and she said he was awesome. he was very nice. his staff was nice, i like his asst. roz. she seems very caring. he strongly emphasizes aftercare and has a very structured plan for it as well. i will be seeing him every 2 weeks for quite some time. which i like. he told me all the risks of the surgery as well as the benefits. i think im going to like him, i just wish i could find someone else whos had him. he only does open and has never lost a paitent. he said hes done @ 150 or so. with no leaks from his paitents personally. the office has done @ 600 with 3 leaks and 1 death from the leak. so i think thats a good thing right? i think bedside manner is a definite must. and surgical competience... well duh. lol as for his overall rating, ill say @ a 7 or 8.(on a scale of 1-10) i havent really spent that much time with him yet. like i said im still a little uneasy because i havent heard from anyone else thats used him.

I was very nervous when I went for my first visit. I had researched the surgery and spoke with my primary doctor in great detail. When I met Dr. Wynn, I was pleasantly surprise! She was very down to earth. She listened to everything I had to say, and she was very upbeat. The office was very professional and very curteous.
Dr. Gail Wynn is wonderful, straight forward, warm and makes you feel VERY comfortable from the start.rnrnShe addressed the pro's and cons of both the gastric bypass and the lap band without bias to either one!rnrnShe knows her STUFF!!!rnrnThe office is very accomadating for overweight people in regards to seating, and her staff is wonderful too!rnrnOverall I would say Dr. Wynn is EXCELLENT, and nothing short of this.rnrnDr. Isaias Irgau (pronounced EARGOW) is EXCELLENT, he and Dr. Wynn both performed my surgery as Dr. Wynn was pregnant at the time :-). rnrnI've been doing my follow up care with him from 2 months after my surgery to present and he is what a model Doctor/Surgeon should aspire to be. rnrnHe is thorough with his decisions and his bedside manner is beyond wonderful.
When I first meant Dr. Wynn it was a great one. She was very helpful in explaining everything to me about Lap Band. The office staff was excellent as well. After surgery care is very important too her. My over all experience with her was great and her bedside manner and surgical competence was all great.
Dr. Wynn is one of the best surgeons I have ever met. Her bedside manner is wonderful and her staff at her office and St. Francis Hospital were the greatest and most compassionate. I would recommend her and her partners to anyone considering surgery. She was very thorough in her examination and tests ordered prior to my surgery.
Dr Wynn is a very good dr. When you first see her she is honest and will tell you what she thinks. She goes over both surgeries unless you tell her that your mind is made up. I informed her that I was not interested in bypass and she was okay with my decision. She then got things rolling towards my lap band. When she comes to see you in the hospital she will look like a interin. I had to do a double take. For my aftercare I have been seeing her associate Dr Irgau who is also excellent. he also will answer any questions no matter how silly you think they are. To him they are all important. I also follow up with the St francis Nutr. Which is right next to Dr Wynn's office, it is nice to have them all in one building.
Honestly my first opinion was that Dr. Wynn had no feeling in her, her stare was blank and that she knew nothing about what i was going through. My impression changed because right before she surgery i was having a hard time losing my required weight loss and she told me how she could help me and she said that she will see me in the hospital, and she gave me much hope for the future. Most of the office staff was very friendly and helpful, there were a few that i thought needed more training or needed to just not be there....I wish i never had those thoughts about Dr. Wynn because she turned out to be a really great doctor. Future patients should know that Dr. Wynn is very caring and wants her patients to have a long lasting and healthy life. She really pushes aftercare instructions and has you sign papers that you understand your responsibilties as a patient for the sucess of your surgery and weight loss. She was honest and came out and told me on the first visit and last visit of all the risks associated with surgery. Very patient and understanding overall, both surgical competence and bedside manner were great.
