Gail Wynn, M.D. (Wilmington, DE)
My surgeon is Dr. Gail Wynn. My first impression of her was very good. Everyone at my online support group loves her and I can see why. Very supportive of your decission and very upfront about the procedures and your lifestyle changes. She was willing to answer any questions I asked her.

Met with Dr. Wynn yesterday. Was my first consult appointment and I was very impressed. She is very young, soft spoken, and puts you at ease immediately. Dr. Wynn went over the surgical options, all the risks, and the before and after care program that she requires you to go through. She answered all my questions and those of my husband. She wanted to make sure that he was as comfortable with the decision as I was. We never felt rushed or pushed in any way. The office staff was very nice and helpful. I felt that Dr. Wynn was very thorough and compasionate about her work.

My journey begins!!!

My first impression of Dr. Wynn was that she is very professional, compassionate and approachable. I have since learned that she is considered an outstanding surgeon by all of her peers. My impression of her has only been reinforced over time, and if possible, I respect her skill even more, so when she asked me to come work for her I accepted. I know the office staff is as committed as are Drs. Wynn and Irgau to providing compassionate, professional service.

Aftercare is expected of all post operative patients, and is provided in conjuction with the Preventative Medicine and Rehabilitation Institute (PMRI).

Personally, I regard surgical competence as more important, but with regards to Dr. Wynn, both surgical competence and her bedside manner are outstanding. Overall, I rate her an an outstanding surgeon and a remarkable woman! Major surgery is not easy, and I would not willing undergo it again without Dr. Wynn's advice.

Dr G. Wynn seemed to be very professional. She made sure I knew about the procedure (advantages and risks). Everyone in her office at the time were very nice and tried to make me feel very comfortable. I think what I liked least was the waiting for that initial appointment (so many people scheduling and I waited 2 months to be seen). But once the ball started rolling I was well taken care of although I haven't been able to speak with her, since the initial contact, her staff has done a great job so far.

I haven't met Dr. Wynn yet but am looking forward to asking her a few important initial questions.

When I first met Doctor Wynn, she was very easy to talk to, and professional. She is down to earth and is more than willing to answer any questions I had after my initial visit.

During my first visit she told me everything I needed to know about the surgery. She was very upfront about this surgery being a tool and would require a lifestyle change on my part. She encouraged me to think it over weighing all my options about my weight. She offered me an alternative program that did not require a surgical procedure, if I decided surgery was not for me. Her staff is very friendly and understanding.
She offers a very structured aftercare program, and keeps in contact after the surgery.
She called me a work one day to see how I was doing after the surgery. That really impressed me and just confirmed how she cares sincerely for her patients.

I actually met Dr. Wynn during someone else's appt....I went w/my friend to her pre-op appt...anyway everything people say about her on this site appears to be true....very nice, very direct, does not rush you through. She even asked me if I had any questions for her and it wasn't even my appt. I see her for my first consult on 9/26/02. Had my consult today and while Dr. Wynn is very friendly and answered all of my questions, I had a different feeling today than when I went w/my friend for her appt. Maybe because they are now sooooo busy and about to make a move. I don't know..... 10/24/02: Spoke w/Jacki. She is a new nurse/office manager at Dr. Wynn's new office and is an excellent people person and very knowledgeable. Wonderful asset! 11/15/02: Best appt ever w/Dr. Wynn...lap band in January!

My first impression of Dr. Wynn was HOLY *&^& she's really young! but I have found her to be knowledgeable, personable, and compassionate. The staff has been helpful without making me feel stupid for all the questions. The Dr. works in conjunction with PMRI for both before and after care.

When I first met Dr. Wynn, I was amazed at how young she was! I liked her immediately and felt comfortable. She went through my history and was very thorough.

She was very frank with her discussion of all the options and the possibilities associated with this surgery. I liked heer presentation and she even drew pictures.

I left her with a sense of well being. She couldn't give me a date at the time, but she did let me know what steps I had to follow. I asked to be put on her cancellation list. It is sad to say, but someone else's misfortune could possible be my fortune.

I attended my first group meeting the Saturday after I met her and she actually came to the meeting. I got to see how her other patients felt about her. They all seemed to really like and respect her.

She spoke to me and mentioned at that point that perhaps she would have a cancellation for the end of September and when her scheduler returned from vacation, she would speak to her to get me into the vacancy.

It turned out that she did get that date for me and everything has worked out wonderfully. She was in to see me each day and I am very pleased with her.

Please note that I did not find anything really negative to say about Dr. Wynn and I also liked Dr. Irgua when he stopped in to see me on Wednesday.

Obviously, the above information is my own personal impressions and feelings.

I HAVE GREAT NEWS! Finally a Bariatric Surgery program starting in Northern, DELAWARE.The doctors names are Dr. Isaias Irgau MD and Dr.Gail Melendres Wynn MD. I just met with the doctors for the first time on June 6,2001. I found them to be very nice, and also very knowledgeable. They really wanted to make sure you understand the benefits and risks of the surgery. They also want you to ask alot of questions. The one nice thing was it only took me 3weeks to get an appointment. My second appointment is on July 5,2001. I know as of right now they will only be doing OPEN Roux-en-y. Today is July 5th,and I had my appointment. I must say it went very well, they told me I am going to have the surgery. I must say that was the best news they could have ever given me. I am so excited.Surgery will be on
October 4,2001.
I would just like to say this program has come a long way since my first appointment. The doctors are getting everything set into place.I am so happy that I went with them. This program is something Northern,Delaware really needed.
