Very quiet soft spoken man
It hasn't and I like him very much but wish he were more verbal but I really think he is just a quiet man.
I have had nothing but good experiences. It is a very busy office but I feel that is a good thing. I wouldn't want a surgeon that isn't in demand. The staff have always been very helpful and professional.
I have no complaints so far.
I like that he was very attentive while i was in the hospital. I ended up with a problem not related to WW loss surgery and he was right on top of it and made sure I had excellent care in the hospital. I am out 4 & 1/2 months, have had 2 fills and have had 3 office visits with another app. this month. There is a dietician in the office full time and a phycoligist available. There is a support group meeting once a month addressing many questions. There is a nurse from the office there, the dietician and the phycologist. The group starts out together then divides into a group for by-pass and a group for lap-band.I was given all risks in writing. I rate him a 10 in all areas.

dr. b. is a terrific guy and an even better doctor! he guided me through my decision process and offered helpful information and tips as i went along. he has a positive attitude and is a very talented surgeon! his office staff proved to be a delight--they got me approved in mere days. as with the other surgeon i saw before going with dr. b., the wait time at the office tends to be long because he doesn't rush his patients. i appreciate that and don't mind waiting because i know when it's my turn i will have his undivided attention and he won't try to usher me out after ten minutes. his aftercare program is good, and he encourages his patients to get involved in the support group for added help. i am really pleased with my lap band and am thankful that dr. b. was able to install it with no problems.

Dr B.came across as very competent and honest
he explained to me the procedure and also showed me pictures on how it was done.i like him very much and i do not have any reservations regarding him or the surgery, his office staff are very sweet and efficient,i have called quite a few times over the last few months and as always they are very sweet and helpful. there really isn't anything i did not like. The only thing i think new people should know about him is that he is straight to the point, and that's kind of nice these days. The aftercare is just as important to him as the support groups are before and after WLS.Yes Dr B explained to me in detail what could go wrong and the risks, invovled.I give Dr B top marks. Well both would be great, but if i could only have one it would of course be surgical competence.! Dr B did my sister in law's hernia op and she was so impressed with him and i spoke to him way before going for consultation regarding WLS.

Hi everyone.....I met Dr. Borao on Sept 19,2003. I must say i was very surprised to see how young he is......since i am 46.

I felt so comfortable with him. He was more then educated and sat with my husband and i and went thru the procedure. The testings that get done to make sure there aren't leaks. He seems very thourgh.

I went and sat with Vicki in his office. I felt as tho this staff was extremelty courtesy and very very helpful...(of course i haven't begun to bug them hehehe).

Dr. Borao sat and explained all the complications that could happen and what his rates were with those complications.

I will keep updating as i know more :)

My experience so far has been very good. He took a lot of time to answer any questions either my mother or I had about the surgery and what to expect. I had a consult with Dr. Onopchenko and what a difference. You can really tell he cares for his patients, and isn't doing this for the money. I wish all doctors were more like him.

Dr Borao was the best. He is so patient. And answers all you questions and concerns. Also likes to hear any information you have to offer. He is really careful with his aftercare. He take all measures to make sure you have no complications later. I have two friends also had the surgery and they did not get half of the aftercare that I had with Dr Borao. I really feel that he cares about his patients and there new life. I would and have recommended him the anyone that is considering this surgery.

Dr B was very informative and very specific. Answered all of my questions and concerns. He even suggested to check out this site! Prior to speaking with Dr B I was speaking with several of his patients in the "waiting room" and one of them went as far to say and I quote "his hands are like god's hands to her - he is fantastic". The hardest decision I need to make is which procedure I should chose. I am just starting to do some research on this but at least I was put on the year long waiting list!

Dr Borao is a fantastic doctor, spend about 1.5 hrs with him and he explained everything and answered all my questions. Very caring and will take the time to answer anything u might want to ask.
The first meeting with the office was good and really had no problems. I go back in May 03 to get the ball rolling for the insurance company and all. I called them and was told I was scheduled for July 03, no exact date yet.
There is a support group that meets at the Monmouth Med Center every month, I went to the first meeting last week and was really impressed with all everyone had to say about Dr Borao. This support program is for anyone who is thinking of having the procedure done and for those who have had it done.
If I had to rate Dr Borao I would give him a 10, really appreciate him and the time he spent with me.

I found Dr. Borao to be very helpful and willing to take the time to explain the surgery to me. He answered all my questions and I felt very safe with him. Now that I have had the surgery, he continues to be very positive and helpful at my follow-up visits. I had a very positive experience in the hospital and no side effects up to this time. My post-op period was uneventful and I experienced no pain. Since I had laporoscopic surgery, I felt fine in a few days and since I came home I was able to get around with no problem. As soon as the drain was removed after 10 days, I resumed driving and pretty much my normal routine.
I don't really have any negative remarks about Dr. Borao. I think he is the best. After hearing from others about their experience, I realize that I could not have placed myself in better hands.
Dr. Borao has a group that meets monthly at Monmouth Medical Center. Contact me for info about the group.
Dr. Borao strongly recommends attending the group both before and after surgery.
I rate Dr. Borao as A+. To my surgical competence is number one but bedside manner matters too.
