He was great. Took very good care of me. He is surgically competent and has good bedside manner. The staff and the hospital are excellent; strong emphasis on patient being educated about risks and aftercare. Overall rating of surgeon and staff=Excellent.

Very compassionate and caring doctor. He answered all of my questions and put me at ease. The staff at St. Joseph East are very caring and helpful. The welcome calls and questions. They all explained the procedure and what was required for the surgery and after. Overall I rate him a 10.

Dr. Nighbert is a very friendly and outgoing man. You can ask him anything you want to know without feeling stupid. He has a great sense of humor and likes to joke around a little during office visits. His pre-op and post-op seminars are very informative. Sometimes it seemed to be repetitive but they just want to insure that you have all the facts and if you miss any bit of information they encourage you to contact the office. They go over every detail of pre-op diet, post-op diet, protein supplements, what exactly will happen in the hospital step-by-step, day-by-day, anything you could think of they cover. They have a dietician on staff, an exercise physiologist, as well as nurses, and they are all at your beck & call. This is the best place I have experienced and would rate them at a 10.

I am so glad though that,I eventually did have my surgery, I had it in Lexington at St. Joe's East. My surgeon, Dr Ed Nighbert, was one of the best! As a matter of fact, the entire surgical team, Dr. Steiner, Karen Hillenmeyer, Dr. Nighbert, Amanda Nighbert, and all support staff were the greatest.

Dr. Nighbert is a great surgeon. I first went to Kings Daughters in Ashland. I went through their medical weight loss program month 5 of 6 they told me I would have to lose 150lbs. before the surgeon would do surgery. I contacted Good Samaritan made several trips to Lexington had all the tests paid the program fee and a week later the doctor moved to Tenneesee I then found Dr. Nighbert He never hesitated said he could do it even though I was very large patient. Had my surgery September 12th no complications no regrets. I have lost 104 ldbs. as of December 12th my last appt. If you are very much overweight and need a Doctor you call Dr. Nighbert I gurantee if you listen to him and his staff you will have weight loss surgery If you do not he will not do it. I think Dr. Nighbert, Karen Hillenmyer and all the at Saint Jospth East weight loss program have my life.

My first impression was great. He seems very friendly and warm. He cares about his patients. The office staff are #1. I love them all. They all want me to succeed and they are so friendly and caring. I get a real person everytime I call (not like the practice I transferred from where I got voice mail every time and sometimes up to 4 days for a returned call)!! The entire before surgery process has been super. I am a fast track patient (they took me as a patient on Dec. 21st and I am having surgery on Dec. 29th), but they didn't miss anything. It is really great to feel like a part of the family and a valued individual instead of a \"number on your belt\" - from the place I transferred from. I feel very confident in Dr. Nighbert's skills and competence as a doctor. He was very informed and gave me a wealth of information that I had never heard about (even to the point of surgery with the other doctor that I transferred from). The aftercare program sounds phenomenal. 6 weeks of Bariatric patient only exercise class with the local YMCA and then a free three month pass!!! I can't wait to get the individual help and support to lose the weight and tone up. I have to say that God sent me to Dr. Nighbert for a reason and I thank Him every day for it. Dr. Nighbert and the whole staff definitely score an A+++++!!!! There are not many doctors and offices that would take a patient transferring from another practice and support and move them through the process to ensure they get what they need - surgery before the end of the year and the correct kind of surgery - Gastric Bypass. They had my approval from my insurance and everything transferred over while I was in their office the first time!!! It took them less than 2 hours to see it done. (To change my type of surgery - that the other practice sent in incorrectly to begin with, took the other office over a week!!!!) Now tell me who is the better office??? And Dr. Nighbert's total surgery cost is almost $10,000 less. All I can say to anyone is - do not go to Georgetown. Dr. Nighbert and his practice is the way to go. You won't be sorry!

I found Dr. Nighbert to be both friendly and professional. He is very straight forward about the risks of the surgery and what to expect afterwards. The staff is great, everyone knows their role in the process. The center has a structured aftercare program, which was a deciding for me in going to the center. I would highly reccommend the center.

My first impression of Dr Neighbert - I thought he looked friendly, not stiff as some Dr's do.rnrnDid my impression of him change- Yes, I liked him even morernrnHow would I describe his office staff - Most all of his staff is very nicernrnWhat did I like least - I like him very wellrnrnWhat should future patients know about him -He is a very caring Dr, how you feel matters to him.rnrnHow much does he emphasize aftercare - Dr Neighbert and his staff want to know how you feel, I received several calls from his office just to check on me post surgery.rnrnDoes he have a structured aftercare program - yes, also group meetings are offered.rnrnDid he address the risk of surgery - I ask that question, before he mentioned it so I am not sure of that question.rnrnHow would I rate him overall - I think he is great, in fact my neice is also going now to have the surgery and a few of my friends.rnrnWhich is better, surgical competence, bedside manner or both - I would want competence more than bedside manner, in Dr Neighbert, you get both.rnrn

He is nice, very knowledgable and willing to answer questions. He explained the surgery well and was in the hospital room when they brought me up from the recovery room talking to my fiance. He has been very friendly and has been very responsive to my concerns since surgery. My only negative comment is that the office is busier and busier. Long waits to see the doctor and then short times with him, though he always stays to answer any questions. I just feel like I'm holding things up. Overall, I think he is great!!!! I hope everyone can get a surgeon as awesome as he is.

P.S. I have called and he even answers the phone. When was the last time you ever heard of a doctor doing that?
