My surgeon...Hmmm how do you descibe the man who you feel gave you your life back...I am sitting here in my hotel room wondering how to descibe my eternal gratitude and respect for him.. I found him through ironically enough people on here at OH and after a very very bad bout of things with Cleveland Clinic (like I said before and I have no qualms about saying it now since I know other people who have JUMPED ship at the Cleveland Clinic- Just say NO!!) BIGGER DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN BETTER!!!!Not a compassionate place to go for this kind of surgery... DR. Schumacher is very kind he actually listens a quality I seek in a doctor because if someone can't take the time to listen to me you have to STOP and ask yourself does this doctor really CARE???I know he does- My surgery he canceled once because I got sick before it and I wasn't sure of the cause at the time. Alot of doctors would of just gone on ahead and said \"Hey I ain't missing this $30,000 dollars we moving forward!\" He said no I went and had myself cleared and he decided to do it -He won't take unnecessary risks with your health he is HIGHLY accredited and comes widely recommended. I mean look at me I found him through people who are patients not the phone book. Word of mouth is the best advertising.. I am taking my husband -well husband to be next year to see him cause I can put him under my insurance and he has post weight loss issues and I TRUST him to let him do my other half so you KNOW I have faith in him. I know it is no cure all the surgery and alot of the issues I have will never be fully resolved but at least I can feel better about myself and few other things. I just had my surgery this 12-9-08 and today is my birthday 12-13-??. I will have two birthdays from now on like all weight loss patients and it's too bad it could not of happened on my birthday for a real rebirth but hey I'll take what I can get. Thank you Dr. Schumacher thank you for everything you have done and to your staff helping push my approval get pushed through. Thank you is all I can say...

I was impressed with Dr. Schumacher and his team from the first time I met him at the informational seminar. He is very professional and friendly. His credentials impeccable. I was impressed with the amount of time he spent with me at my one-on-one appointment. He thoroughly explained the surgeries and options available to me and helped me make the best choice for me. All phases of the surgery, aftercare, and my life after surgery were explained and he has a lot of support staff and there are many support groups available as well. Complications of surgery were addressed several times bu Dr. Schumacher and his staff. I can only convey positive thoughts about him and give him the highest rating. I feel surgical competence is very important but fortunately I have found a doctor that is both surgically competent and has great bedside manner as well.

Dr. Schumacher is a very caring, friendly, and experienced. He has an awesome sense of humor. He Makes you feel like youre the only patient he is taking care of. I would highly reccomend him to anyone who is looking into bariatric surgery. His office staff was /is a very caring and helpful bunch of people. They stay very busy trying to provide the best service possible to all of their patients. His P-A Jarrod is also very nice.

Dr. Schumacher has a great personality and one of the best traits of a good doctor - he listens to you! He told me that typically the best operation for me would be RNY but he listened to my concerns about the operation and allowed me to make the best choice for me. That choice was the lap band.rnrnThe entire practice is a bunch of great people. The practice is very busy. So they are not going to call you about every little thing as you move through the process. But they never seemed to mind when I kept calling to find out where I was in the approval process.rnrnThe day of my surgery went great, Sycamore is an excellent hospital. Dr. Schumacher joked around me putting me at ease. He came out, spoke to my wife, gave her the details of the surgery. He stopped by later that day and the next morning. You see everyone represented from the practice before you go home - nurse, nutritionist, exercise physiologist, all making sure you are ready to be released.rnrnI had no complications, very little pain and that only lasted a few days. Everyone is a little different in that department but it has all been very smooth.rnrnHis practice his highly recommended by me.

Dr. Shumacher is a very kind man with a good bed side manner. I feel he really cares about each and everyone of his patients. He listens to concerns and fears. He spoke with me about the risks of the surgery, even including death. Dr. Schumacher's office staff is very friendly, patient, and overall concerned about the patient. You are always greeted very friendly from each one of the staff. Aftercare is always emphasized, but of course it is up to the patient to continue with the aftercare progams. I feel Dr. Schumacher is an excellent doctor and would recommend him very highly to any one who is considering Bariatric surgery. On a scale from 1-10 he is definitely a 10 in my book.

After meeting Dr. Schumacher at one of his WLS seminars, I knew that he was the surgeon that I wanted to do my procedure. I met with him after the seminar and he seemed like he had all the time in the world (over an hour after the seminar) to discuss VSG with me and my husband. He also introduced us to his Office Manager, Nancy, who was also more than just helpful - she is great. After meeting them I called Nancy at the office and she assisted me in calling my insurance company who had already approved me for the Lap Band with another surgeon and she asked them to change the procedure and also to change my surgeon to Dr. Schumacher. She got this approved very fast! I will be meeting with him in a few weeks to discuss the surgery and pre/post-op. I can't wait, Dr. Schumacher and his staff are all wonderful! The best thing was that I was talking to my husband on the way to the WLS seminar and I told him I feel that this procedure is God's will for me because even when I thought I had made up my mind about the Lapband I found VSG and kept coming back to it that it would be the best surgery for me and I even kept dreaming about it. As we were leaving Nancy put her hand on my shoulder and told me \"If it is God's will everything will be fine\". How awesome is that?!?!
