Dr. Schumacher and his crew are great. They answered every single dumb question I had/have. Just had surgery on Nov. 17, 2015. I have COPD and a lot of adhesions from previous surgeries and my recovery went pretty well. I was home in 6 days, including the first day in ICU. He took no chances. i would and have recommended Dr. Schumacher.

Best surgeon in the world! He was simply wonderful! He took the time to answer all of my questions and the questions my family had. The surgery was flawless and recovery has been perfect. His staff is wonderful! Everything about this entire experience has been amazing! I absolutely would recommend Dr. Schumacher to anyone who is contemplating WLS.

Love, Love, Love my new surgeon!
I was in the Fresh Start Bariatrics program with Dr. Stephen Myers in Columbus, Ohio at Riverside for the first three months of the process, but in spite of my determined efforts to succeed, it just was not a good doctor/patient match.
Now that I have switched and been accepted into Dr. Schumacher's program, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
All my doubts and worries about this surgery are gone. I feel confident I am in good hands and am ready to move forward.
What a welcome relief!
I will update this review after my procedure: Feb 1, 2011.

I started my journey toward my DS procedure with a different doctor and ended up seeking out Dr. Schumacher as an alternative after a less than favorable experience with the first doctor. Dr. Schumacher is absolutely amazing. My first experience with him was extremely positive and encouraging, leaving no doubt in my mind that I wanted him to do my procedure from the first few minutes of interaction.
His staff have been courteous, respectful and encouraging as well. I have felt very welcome and at home in their office and would highly suggest this group to any other prospective patients.
I can't say one bad word about any part of my experiences in the office. Dr. Schumacher is the most personable doctor that I have ever met and his bedside manner is second to none. I felt that he had me and my best interest in mind and took the time to ensure that I was fully aware and comfortable in every step of the process.

Dr. Schumacher was one of the nices doctors I have had in a long time. You will meet him a couple of times. I got to know his P.A.'s quite well. The three of them make a good team.
The office staff tries its best to keep things moving along. The nurses are quite good.
Dr. Schumacher never sugar coated anything. He was quite blunt about what to expect after surgery. He was up front on post surgery problems that could occur.
When you choose Dr. Schumacher you should know you get the hole practice. For the most part I have been dealing with the two P.A.s.
