He is very professtional in his manner. But he is a a very carring person. He wants what is best for you. Everyone in the office is great. I had had Cigna isurance first last year and they would not work with me and I was turned down. MY work was taken over and we received new insurance. UHC I called Lisa and asked what she thought about trying with them? She said that it should go smooth. In nine days I was approved. I met with Dr. Dyer today and we discussed my surgery and it is set for 5/13. I would give everyone a 10 rating. I am so lucky I went to this group. I highly recomend Dr. Dyer over anyone out there performing this surgery.
he seems to be a good dedicated surgeon
he is a quite serious person.
office staff efficient, but not overly
friendly or assessiable. Dr. is not real
easy to talk to or ask questions.although he
does always ask if I have any questions.
aftercare seems good and adequate. yes
structured program. tells you of all risk
involved. would like to know a little more
of the surgical details. why I had more
pain at one spot. what muscles were involved.
I would rate Dr. Dyer as an excellent surgeon.
I have all confidence in him. surgicial
competence great. bedside manner not his
strong point. he doesn't get too friendly or
personal with patient.
these are my personal impressions from my own
experience.
09/2003 - I have met Dr. Dyer only one time so far. He seems to be a very kind, soft spoken person. However, tomorrow I get to meet him for the second time and get a surgery date scheduled. I have worked closer with Lisa during the approval process and she has been great.
11/2003 - It has now been two months since my surgery and Dr. Dyer seems pleased so far with my results. I am very grateful to him for his professionalism and have respect for his surgical skills. My life has been changed for the better and I have committed myself to all the changes needed for a successful post-op life.
Dr. Dyer's office staff is fantastic. Every time I call them for something they have a real sense of urgency to please me and get any information that I need.
In my opinion Dr. Dyer is a highly skilled surgeon. Immediately after my surgery he went into the waiting room to talk with my wife and my father and let them know of my condition. They were both very impressed with his caring manner and his offer to answer any questions.
Dr. Dyer has a well organized aftercare program. I feel as though the advice and instructions I receive are based upon what will help me be a successful WLS patient.
The potential risks of WLS were covered well with me and my wife before my surgery. From my own personal experience I would have to rate Dr. Dyer as excellent. Surgical experience and competence was the most important aspect of selecting a WLS surgeon for me.
3/2004 - Dr. Dyer has been fantastic and is still always willing to answer questions. He is very serious about sticking to the right nutrition plan, taking the right vitamins, and achieving successful results.....and I am so glad.
Dr. Dyer seemed to be a very straight forward professional in his seminar. He fielded questions exceptionally well and addressed issues of mortality very directly when vrought up by several participants. Several attendees were there because their doctor had referred them or for cosmetic desires and he was very direct in outlining the overall life effects for this surgeryand stating the criteria for consideration.
I hope to be able to allow this doctor to perform my surgery (should it be approved).
Met with Dr. Dyer and he is a very softspoken man but is clearly concerned about his patients and their well-being. He actually came into the office on a non scheduled day to make my appointment even though he was leaving for vacation. He didn't make me feel rushed in anyway and actually was very kind in respects that I had done a great deal of research and had few questions of him.
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Dyer and his staff. I worked with Lisa 2 years ago and it took us 6 months to get me approved. This was after several appeals and additional information. Before I could have the surgery my company changed their policy and no longer covered WLS.
Now I work for a different company and I sent Lisa my new information in Dec. and I was approved this week and have a date. They try to help you in every way. I know this is their job but they seem like they are doing for you.
If you aren't sure about a doctor or group the ones at Centennial Medical Center (Dyer, Olsen & Houston (he is new) are a great group and CMC is a great facility.
Dr. Dyer is a competent surgeon but I find that he lacks in personality.
The staff is friendly, professional, and usually on the ball.
The aftercare program is still developing. The dietician is very willing to work with patients.
Dr. Dyer was upfront and frank about the risks of the surgery. I feel that I made an informed decision based on the seminar and exam visit.
I think surgical competence is more important than the dr's bedside manner.
Dr.Dyer is wonderful. I can't say enough good things about him. He is very straightforward on the risks and complications of the surgery. He takes the time to listen and answer any questions. He has a great staff, the staff is very attentive to the patients needs and never rude. He has a great bedside manner, one that is caring. Overall I would recommend anyone considering gastric surgury to have Dr. Dyer as thier surgeon.
My first impression of Dr. Dyer was good. It was in the ed. seminar that he conducted. He was all business and did an excellent job of telling about the surgery. At our consult (my husband and me), I found him to be friendlier and easy to talk to. I have only heard good things about from my support group. My surgery is 2/27/03 and Terry's is 3/11/03 so I'll post again later.
We are now 5 months out from surgery. I have lost 90 lbs and Terry has lost 100. We are more than pleased with Dr. Dyer. He is kind and so skilled. We call Robin (his nurse) with questions alot and she always checks with him and promptly returns our calls. He is GREAT! We could not have asked for a better surgeon, he would get our recomendation any day! He emphasizes the aftercare alot. It is as important as the surgery itself.
It took about 2 months just to get in to see Dr.Dyer then once I arrived for my appt. I had to wait for 3 hours before getting back into a room. I could hear him going into the patients rooms beside me -even though I had been called back first- Seeing as I had a 3 hour drive back home I thought that was a little inconsiderate but I guess thats just part of it. He talked to me for 10 minutes looked at my gallbladder scars and we both went home for the day...not together,of course. haha I was given a date for 5 months later but the reputation is worth the wait.
He seems very professional and stresses a detailed aftercare program which is good so that he can keep me on track. I've heard so many good things about him that I don't mind if he may not be Mr.Personality or punctual. I trust him with my life that should say something.
