I was surprised at the kindness of Dr. Dyer and his staff when I went in for my initial consultation. After all of the information that I was given, and the research I had done, I was still terrified of the surgery and what \"could\" happen. Those concerns were put to rest after speaking with the dr's staff and others who had the surger. His staff are very kind and warm and make you feel like they are genuinely concerned about you. I had my surgery on May 5, 08 and went to my first aftercare visit and to have my drain removed - that was not much to do at all. Taking care of the \"wounds\" are the worst part of it but Dr. Dyer and his staff made me comfortable with that as well. I would certainly rate him a 10 out of 10. He is really a nice and caring doctor and listened to my concerns. I feel that surgical competence is MUCH better than bedside manner but Dr. Dyer certainly does not lack bedside manner and the nursing staff at Centennial Medical Center, especially Cara and Angela are the best that I have ever known... they were perfect angels and very caring and took great care of me in my families absence. I don't regret a thing!!! And I'm glad that I chose the doctor and hospital that I chose, I was 110% satisfied.
I was really nervous when I went for my first consult with Dr David Dyer, but as soon as he came in the room and shook my hand he made me feel much better. He made sure that I understood all that was to come with the surgery that I had selected, the risks and the benefits, and he answered all of my questions in great detail. His office staff is wonderful, they are the sweetest women and I enjoy getting to see them. There is nothing that I would change at all!!! rnI think anyone looking to have surgery with Dr Dyer has chosen wisely, he is caring and compassionate he is a wonderful surgeon. He emphazies aftercare every visit, they really encourage the aftercare program. He is a great surgeon and a great Dr to have, I am recently out of surgery and I look forward to having him for my Dr for all of the follow-up care. I believe that all is important to the care of a patient, they like to feel secure in their decision and like to know that their surgeon cares, it is also comforting to know that the sugeon that you choose is competient in what he is doing and I feel that is why the consult is so very important, to get a feel for each other. I HIGHLY recommend Dr David Dyer, I just love him he is wonderful!!!!rnrnThanks,rnSherry
Dr. Dyer is great, he is very easy to talk to and cares a great deal about each person that he speaks with. His office staff is very helpful and friendly. Dr. Dyer explains everything in detail and gives the pros and cons of the surgery and after surgery if you have any question all you have to do is call and he calls you back. He cares about not only your health and success, he also cares about you as a person.
I went to Nashville to hear Dr Dyer speak on the Lap Band, Gastric Bypass, and the Gastric Sleeve surgeries. He was awesome! I know this man is a genius in the OR...I seen some of his handywork.Dr Dyer and Centennial Hospital as a whole stresses one fact that nmade me choose them for my bariatric surgery:You are their patient for the rest of your life! This stresses just how much they do care about us! I am excited for my journey to begin.rnThere wasn't anything I didn't like about Dr Dyer. He strictly emphasizes aftercare with diet, exercise, and making sure your appointments are kept with the center. Risks of surgery use to scare me,but when Dr Dyer said that what our disabilities are along with the weight we carry-bypass is nothing!overall, if I ahd to rate this man on a 1-10 score-he is a definate 10!!!! And what is greater? Surgical competence or bedside manner? Neither if the doctor has no clue what he is doing. This man knows his stuff-and Im ready and trusting that God will use this man to help me soon!rnUPDATE...........................rnI have been working on my insurance company and doctors offices since I returned from Nashville in February.Last Tuesday I recieved an email saying I WAS APPROVED FOR SURGERY!!!!!!! I went for my pre-op on Friday the 18th(also my b-day)and I am scheduled for the 6th day of May!My new life begins!!!!!!
Most of the people that I know who have had weight loss surgery have used Dr. Dyer. That told me something. He's been doing this just about as long as anyone and he knows his stuff. The Centennial Center is a Center of Excellence and there is a reason for that. They have this down to an art. Many of the staff in the office have had the surgery and that makes patients feel very positive about the choice they have made. I would chose Dr. Dyer all over again.
When I first met Dr. Dyer, I knew I had made the right decision. He made me feel comfortable. I had my surgery on March 11th, 2008 and I am already feeling better about myself and walking around a lot better than before. He educated me about the surgery and put my mind at ease. He has great bedside manners and made sure that I had everything I needed while I was in the hospital. I recommend him as a surgeon to anyone thinking of having the surgery.
I was very impressed with Dr. dyer from the beginning. Dr. dyer was very informative and very detailed in describing the precedure, at my first consultation. Unlike most, I did experience complications. I had two ruptures 5 days post op. This complication was caused by my not following post op instructions. Dr. dyer did the surgery and everything was great when i left the hospital. I really got to see what kind of doctor and person that Dr. dyer is when I was rushed to the hospital after i ruptured. I was stubborn and waited 48 hours after rupture before i went to the hospital. I was not in good shape at all. Dr. Dyer explained how serious that my situation was and explained that he was going to try to save my life. I could tell that Dr. Dyer was seriously concerned for my wellbeing. I credit Dr. Dyer with saving my life. I have no doubt that if I had not got to the hospital when I did and had such a excellent staff waiting to perform my surgery, i would not be here today. My family were also very impressed with Dr. Dyer. He took the time, every day to go by the waiting room, and discuss my situation with them. I would recommend Dr. Dyer to anyone looking for a great surgeon.
Dr. Dyer is a very attentive and reponsive doctor. He takes a very detailed history and was very meticulous about addressing all my concerns.rn rnHe performed my RNY 15 mos ago. I had absolutely no complications from the procedure. He attended to every stage of my recovery with equal interest and professionalism. He is top flight in my book!rnrnHe places a strong emphasis on attending the Aftercare Program and utilizing all the staff in his office who are also highly qualified. Not only does he stress this during the post op phases, but also invites us to continue involvement with the Center for Treatment of Obesity for the rest of our lives.rnrnI honestly feel you couldn't be in better hands for surgery, recovery, and long term care.rnrnrnrnrnrn
