I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Li and her staff. There preparatory program is incredible, and I got tons of support from her dietician, attending the group meetings she has, etc. Dr. Li is friendly, non-judgmental, and determined to make you be successful. Phone calls are always returned timely, and lots of access to needed information. Dr. Li helped me think about what was really the right procedure for me (we ultimately selected the sleeve) and spends plenty of time with you - I never felt rushed. The surgery itself went very smoothly - I was out of the hospital after only one night's stay, and had a very good recovery.Yeah Dr Li!

I wish to share my experience based completely on "TRUTH," and the experience I had with Dr. Christina Li as my surgeon and her awesome staff. My journey began in May 2011 and as of today, 31 August 2011, I'm a post-op patient going through the recovery period. I'm feeling better than I could have imagined. Words can't express the content of my heart's realizations of peacefully healing!!!

Dr. Sampath Subramaniam assisted Dr. Christina Li as a partnering surgeon during my operation. I must say: "These doctors are the BEST!"

EVERYONE, including ALL of the staff member's providing their core duties and responsibilities (i.e., specific medical roles and expertise) in preparing me for surgery were professionals with loving spirits of help! They made sure a patient's HEALTH is what mattered THE MOST!

I am proud to say I learned a tremendous wealth of knowledge about the subject of obesity, and my own personal health conditions. I also learned how important it is to listen to everything you are taught in the many different training forums provided to all patients for health education purposes. "No stones were left unturned," as one realistic quote reminds me!

The words "THANK YOU" have more meaning now to my life. Especially, since I've began a "NEW LIFE," and the chapters to this part of my life won't ever be the same. Finally, my continued life story has pages, that are yet to be written. I say to anyone looking for an "personable" surgeon and an "outstanding" Bariatrics Program, the program at Sinai Hospital under Dr. Christina Li's leadership is worth considering, without a doubt!! "Rest assured," you won't regret it ever!!!

Very Respectfully,

Healing Peace

From the time that I walked into Dr. Li's office I felt welcome and very comfortable there starting with the staff. The staff always has a smile and is readily available to help you. When I initially met Dr. Li. I was so impressed with her. Not only did she ask me questions but she also took all time time that I needed in order to answer any questions that I had. I had full and complete answers from her about the procedure (gastric bypass) by the time that I left her office.Very professional yet very personable. I would recommend her to anyone I know if they needed this type of surgery. I was even given a welcome hug before leaving her office...that meant a lot to me. It showed me that maybe she cared about me as a person and since leaving the office that first day, she has proved it beyone my expectations!

I am 14 months post op sleeve. From the beginning Dr. Li wanted to know was I exercising. Not wanting to be the "bad patient" I always told her that I was (knowing that I really wasn't). Naturally, I was only fooling myself :-( But I'm back on track and I'm down another 5 lbs - total of 105 lbs!!! I agree with Dr. Li you must do all three things - diet, exercise, and take your vitamins in order for the surgery to work. Plus don't forget to visit with Dr. Li and her staff! They are the best in town!!!!!

Dr. Li is very in tuned to her patients and their life long struggles w/ weight loss. She is sensitive to their needs and concerns. The program @ Sinai Hospital is the best in the area. From the dietitian, to the nurses, and financial personnel - everyone is very knowledgable about obesity and how to overcome this disease.
I am so please w/ my success with the sleeve gastrectomy. One month and I'm already down 33 lbs! Yeah!
I would rate Dr. Li and her staff 10/10! No questions!

Dr. Li was very sweet but my surgery failed. When I kept explaining to her that I wasn't feeling full and felt light headed from the portions I was told to eat, she kept sending me to the nutritionist. I went back and forth w/ them for months. Needless to say I only lost 50 lbs and I had the sleeve in 2008.

I went to another doctor for a 2nd opinion and he did test on me and told me my too much of my pouch was left which is why my body was not statisfied w/ the portions I was eating. I told him I could almost eat as much as I could before the surgery.

I was very depressed and I went back to Dr Li and told her about the 2nd opinion and she caught an attitude w/me. Needless to say I will not being going back there for a revision.

My first impression of Dr. Li was that she was very smart, thorough and informative. Before I left my initial appointment she gave me a hug and welcomed me to the family. Over time, my first impression proved correct. She was genuinely interested in my progress and answered all of my questions. Dr. Li's staff was, and continues to be, supportive and helpful at every step of the way.
If you are looking for a surgeon that will coddle you or tell you what you want to hear, she is not for you. Dr. Li is very direct, realistic, and expects you to actively participate in the process. I did my research and was looking for the best surgeon I could find. I passed over several others and ended up choosing Dr.Li, even though she is located over an hour from my home. After attending the bariatric seminar at Siani Hospital, I knew this was where I was going to be treated. I felt very prepared for surgery and felt well informed of the possible risks; thanks to Dr. Li, her staff, and the nutritionist.
My surgery went great and I feel great, and I feel very lucky that Dr. Li performed my surgery. I will be a patient for life and look forward taking full advantage of their continued support.

My first impression was she was very friendly. Her staff is very friendly and helpful. It's like family. People should know she is very caring and really does want the best for you. Aftercare is very important to them. I really can't think of anything better her or her staff could do to make it any easiser. They are great!!!

I had my surgery on August 8, 2009. I am 2 years post op and have lost 105% of my excess weight. I was at 100% one year post op and have maintained that loss for a year. Dr. Li was a huge part of my success. She made sure I understood everything that was going to happen and she stressed the importance of pre-op counseling and nutritional guidance. She is very caring and nurturing but also tough! She made sure I knew how disappointed she was in me when I gained weight before surgery instead of losing. The staff in her office is also very competent and supportive. I would love to work there!

If I had one negative comment, I would say that Dr. Li seems extremely busy and harried. I sometimes felt rushed. But she was always willing to talk with me and answer my questions and concerns. I have accompanied friends to appointments with their surgeons and no-one came close to impressing me the way Dr. Li did. I feel lucky to have had my surgery performed by her and I would recommend her to anyone considering this surgery. She helped me change my life with her warmth and compassion. But her passion and commitment to what she does for her patients is a blessing to all who know her.
