My doctor was absolutely wonderful. I was only the 10th surgery that he had performed. He took much time and care with me, making me understand all the facets of the surgery that I was going to undergo. I would highly suggest him as a potential surgeon. Aftercare has been marvelous, anytime I needed to have questions answered his staff were always at my disposal.

Well i`m on my way ..My family Doctor has referred this doctor for me to start my life again..Well I got a call from the liv-lite lady she was very nice and i think she will help alot with my health..and she answered some of my ?.

I've only met him at the support group meetings that they have at the Geary County Hospital for Post Op and curious patients. I have my first appointment scheduled with him on August 21st. I'll let you know how everything goes and hopefully be able to answer the questions to the left.

Nice guy. Direct. I am a DJ and my first impression was that he was a stiff shirt. Later I seen him laugh a couple of times. Its my oppinon that there is humor in everything.
Loved the staff. My wife wanted me to choose Dr. Bollman because she really liked his nurse Eileen. Met her at support group meeting.
Patty is manager she is a very good person, answered every question and always returned my calls.
I have heard that doc likes Hawaii style floweredy shirts.
I am looking forward to surgery. I think I have made the correct choice, and that Dr. Bollman and his staff will do the best job that is humanly possible.

Hello! One of the best things I have ever done for myself was to make the decision to call Geary Community Hospital in Junction City, KS, and to choose Dr Bollman to be my surgeon! Dr Bollman is an experienced surgeon (over 20 years)who is THE BEST! He is very professional, taking over an hour to talk to me my first time with him. He is very methodical about going over all information so that all my questions were answered thoroughly and respectfully. I have now had my surgery, and even though I live in a city where there are two major medical centers, going to Junction City to have my surgery was a true blessing! The hospital is up-to-date, and the nursing care made me feel like I had stepped back in time about 25 years! I spent 2 days in ICU, and had a nurse with me at all times. Dr Bollman watched over me very carefully. After being transferred to "the floor" the wonderful care continued by both my Doc and the nursing staff. Dr Bollman was there every day, and never made me feel like I was taking up too much of his time even though some mornings I had LOTS of questions! He would just sit down and visit with me.
Would I choose him for my surgeon again? YES! Would I choose this hospital again? YES! All the nurses are wonderful, and there for you in a second when you call, (and when you don't!) ICU nurses that come to visit you later on the floor.... nurses that are pleasant and professional and still do old fashioned things like powder your back so your binder will feel better! And then there is the Liv Lite Program at the hospital.. Patty Maycroft is the director, and she did all my insurance work for me..made all the arrangements etc etc...and manages to stay pleasant and sweet and caring to all of us! She came to visit me a couple of hours before surgery, and came every single day to visit me afterwards, plus has now been calling me at home occ. to check up on me.
So, Dr Bollman and his nurses Eileen and Karla, and all the hospital staff get an "EXCELLENT" rating from me!

Dear Ms. Platt,

Thank you for returning my call so promptly. I was blessed to have been a
patient at Geary Community Hospital from 4/23/01 through 4/28/01. I had a
RNY Gastric Bypass performed by Dr. Charles S. Bollman. I would like to
acknowledge your fine staff at Geary.

Of course, there is no other like "my" Dr. Bollman and his nurse, Eileen.
I want to make my famous home-made salsa for Dr. Bollman, but my tomatoes
are ripened yet; so, I may have to think of something better. Maybe one of
those wild Hawaiian shirts he likes. :)

During my ICU stay, if I so much as twitched an eye, a CCRN was at my side.
I never felt I was in any pain and all my needs were immediately met. Those
beds in ICU are awesome.

My biggest concern is I may have forgotten to write down someone's name to
let you know about your fine staff. All the aides were wonderful to me.
People spoke to me when I would take my daily walks down the hall. I could
go on and on.

The nurses answered all my questions. Sister Anne rubbed lotion on my feet
and neck. One nurse was assigned to the second floor after she took care
of me in ICU, but called me from her shift later to see how I was doing. I
mean I have never been so pampered and cared for.

My blood sugars before I came to Geary on 4/23 were running in the high
500s, 552 to be exact. I had been hospitalized two times in Wichita for
out of control blood sugars and dehydration. That, more than the weight
loss, was why I chose to have this surgery. I am down from four injections
to two, a total of 24 units total. My readings are consistently under 120.
Fasting is below 100. I have lost 32 pounds in 6 weeks.

I wanted to write a special word or two about Patty Maycroft, the Program
Director for the
Liv-Lite Program. She is just too awesome. How she keeps her cool and
composure with all of us bugging her daily with questions about our
insurance approvals beyond me. She had my insurance approval within three
weeks. She made me feel like I was her only client.

At the support group meetings, she is sincerely glad to see each one of us.
I just love her to death. She makes everyone
feel special. Her voice mail must be bogged down everyday; but she
always,always will call you back.

Thank you for having such a fine, professional like Patty on your staff in
charge of this program.

In closing, I work for Via Christi Health System in Wichita, Kansas, and
have been in our hospital two to three times, but I am sad to say there is
no comparison to the compassion and care I was shown at Geary. Please
relay my heartfelt appreciation to your wonderful staff.

I met with Dr. Bollman for the first time yesterday. And my husband and I both feel very confident in his skill. He also didn't hurry us and we were told we were to take all the time we needed with him to get all our questions answered. He was very thorough. When we left his office we were well informed of our pre-op preperations as well as my post op care.
The surgery was explained in detail, as well as any risks or possible complications involved. I also met with a dietitian who explained my diet porgressions as well as all I would be needing after I first get home so I would be prepaired. I was also told they would be available to me whenever I needed help with anything.
Dr. Bollman told me that my results would depend on my care of my new stomach as well as my following the proper diet plan for optimun nutrition. He appeared to be very compassionate and very candid, which I fully appreciated!
When we left there both my husband and I felt much more confident about our choise of this surgery. And we truly felt the staff was friendly and helpful and determined to help us come away with all the information we needed to be prepaired for what is to come.

I am not impressed with their manners on the phone. Don't know if I'll try elsewhere at this point. I'm kinda bummed out.

Later...in all fairness I have to say that I've heard nothing but good things about this doctor and his office staff. After looking at the web site again I have decided that I was talking to some suit from the Liv-Lite main office. I think I will call their office directly on Monday and see if I get a better response.

I have yet to meet the surgical team. At this point, I take the MMPI test (psych exam) tomorrow (April 4th). Then it will be sent to the surgery staff, then they decide whether I can have the surgery or not! I pray it all works out! I really want to have this done! There is another surgeon who works with Dr.Bollman, his name is Dr.Stevens, they work as a team! I meet them in June, for my consultation. I have heard lots of good things about them though!

My first impression of Dr Bollman was that he is very tall! I was very pleased with Dr Bollman. He was very infromative and explanatory about the surgery. His staff is just wonderful. Everyone is so nice and helpful! I've heard nothing but good things about Dr. Bollmans knowledge and staff.
