Dr Bollman is a reserved(compared to me) GENTLEMAN!!! He's very kindly and seems to truely be concerned for you as a person. He explained things very carefully and made sure you understood EVERYTHING. He answered all of our questions, and made it feel that he was accessable if you had other questions or concerns. They do the surgery open right now but said they may look into doing lap. They just feel more comfortable doing it open right now. I appreciate their honesty about that. The staff in the Liv-lite office and in the Dr's office are absolutely FABULOUS!!! Everyone is friendly, sweet and ever sooo helpful. They very much emphasize the aftercare. The support group meetings are very helpful and informative. They do need a bigger place to have these we are getting VERY overcrowded. The doctors are in attendance as well as the nursing staff and of course PATTY and PAM!!! They take the risks of this surgery VERY seriously and make sure you understand them and that they are going to do everything in their power to prevent them. They make you feel very special and cared for. So far they get a BIG OL' 10 from this girl!!!POST OP RATING...HE'S WONDERFUL!!!! I really felt cared for. His bedside manner is reserved but genuine!!! I had a problem after I went home and they were checking with me constantly. I would recomend him to my mom or my very best friend!!!

He seemed really nice and wanted to make sure that you knew everything that there was to know and he stressed what could go wrong so that if you had any questions then you could ask them. The office staff was wonderful. His nurse was in such high spirits that you could not help from smiling yourself. The appointments went very smoothly and I had my surgery date and pre opp appointments when I left the office, which was really nice. Patty was not in the office so I did not get to meet her, but I got to visit with the wonderful Pam and sit in the big people chairs. It is nice that they have chairs that fit us. The aftercare was a major part of the surgery to them and they strss that that is where dedication comes into the picture. Guess I will tell you how my surgery went when I get to that point.

Dr. Bollman is very reserved but very informative.I like Dr. Bollman he's just a bit quiet for me. But that doesn't really matter. As long as he can help me and keep me clear of problems I'm happy. I am looking to a new me and a new way of life.

I found the Liv-Lite Program on the internet and called the Junction City, KS office directly. The offcie staff was very helpful. I have been very impressed with the thoroughness of program in-so-far as my medical history and testing. Dr. Bollman was nice and explained everything in plain language. He actually gave me his home phone number in case I had any questions I couldn't find the answer to thru the Liv-Lite office. Both Dr. Bollman and his partner, Dr. Stephens, attend the support group meetings to answer questions.

My experience with Dr. Bollman has been a good one. He is extremely competent and confident without being snobby. Friendly and warm--I absolutely adore him! Dr. Stevens is the other surgeon in the practice and he is OK too--I have only had to see him in the office one time for tube removal (not a good experience). But he is very knowledgeable about procedure and aftercare. When he talks I listen. I have to say, that Dr. Bollman is nothing but blunt, and sometimes the truth can hurt. I just had to get to the place where I could hear what he had to say and know it was for my own good.

Eileen(nurse) couldn't be more supportive. She is my biggest fan (or at least makes me think so)! Dr. Stevens nurse, Carla, is also wonderfully warm and sweet. These gals know their stuff! Sheila makes the appointments and actually runs the place--she keeps us all on our toes! Waiting times are kept to a minimum.

Future patients need to know that Dr. Bollman et al are not the food police. They are there to help you in any way they can and they want to see you succeed.

Dr. Bollman is big on aftercare--POUCH RULES AND NO SNACKING!! It is important to have your labs done before going to your appointment so he can check to see how you are progressing and what your needs might be.

Dr. Bollman was very up front about the risks of surgery. He is very thorough in explaining the risks and procedure. I don't think I was listening very closely to the part about pain... :)

I rate Dr. Bollman as 5-star--EXCELLENT, above reproach. He has excellent bedside manner and he is an extremely competent and skilled surgeon. Junction City may be a small midwest town, but Flinthills Surgical is the best--and the hospital is a great facility also.

He is very pleasant. He answered all questions
I had for him. And made very sure I understood
the procedure. Dr. Bollman's office staff is
wonderful. I am so relieved now that I have
actually met them that I am ready to go on.

Dr. Bollman is the best. I am 7 mo. out and he refuses to let me give up on my goal. I would recommend him to anyone and am grateful that I chose him as my surgeon. He is a #10 on a scale of 1-10.

Dr. Bollman was great--very caring and thorough. He definitely wants to make sure you understand the surgery before hand. His staff is great also. When I came home they called every few days to check up on me. When I had a problem I called the doctor in the middle of the night and he was very concerned and helpful. The hospital in Junction City is not the most up to date in appearance, but the staff could not have been better. They were always ready to help and very sweet. One of the CNA's stayed late one night to curl my hair and make me more presentable to go to the support group meeting that happened to be that night. When I had to go back to ICU due to congestive heart failure, I cried because I knew I'd have to stay longer. The nurses comforted me and reassured me. The Dr is very diligent on encouraging us to attend the support group meetings and follow the pouch rules. I'm 10 weeks out from surgery and I've gone back 2 to see the Dr. I go again in July (4 months post-op). I would rate the Dr. and his staff at 10+ on both surgical competence and bedside manner. My only wish was that the Dr. would have given me a goal that he thought I should or could make. But I realize that the success depends on me

I met with Dr. Bollman on 5-7-02. I found his staff and himself to be very friendly and informative . Dr. Bollman was very through in giving info. and explaining the surgery as well as after care.
I strongly recommend him to everyone.
the aftercare program is very structured and detailed, easy to understand. I feel
Dr.Bollman is a caring and definatatly a persson who is understanding of obese persons feeling's. I never once felt that him or his staff were "looking down" because of my weight, and lack of losing power.
In my own personal experience, Dr. Bollman and staff at first meeting are very professional and caring.

Dr.Charles Bollman-Junction City, Ks.
I really like Dr. Bollman, he answered all the questions I had and more. I feel he knows what he is doing and he has his son-inlaw working by his side. The staff is great, exspecially Eilene and Patty Maycroft.
I did not find one thing to not like about this doctor or his staff.

I had seen Dr Bollman at a couple of the Live Lite support group meetings in the past couple of months. He is really kind of quiet in these meetings, but will answer any question that is directed to him specificaly.

He is totally different on a one on one type meeting than in a group meeting.I was really impressed with him being totally honest and forthcoming with all aspects of this surgery. He didn't try to make this surgery seem like a walk in the park, so to speak. I asked questions and he answered. He didn't try to sugar coat his answers. He went over the risks of this surgery in great detail. He told of the risks that could be involved and what he does to try to help them from occuring and what he can do to fix problems that arise.

His staff are pleasant and informative. They did not treat me like someone who would been seen in a carnival sideshow.

Not knowing what his bedside manner is right now, I'd have to say his surgical competence is what I'm most impressed with so far.
