Dr Ben-Meir is kind and caring, professional and serious about your success and his. My impression only got better the more times I saw him. At our first consult he quizzed me on my understanding of the surgery and what would be expected. He is very clear on the work that must be done, and very confident that his skills will assist in your success. He's the right balance of Confidence and Caring. Great Bedside manner. rnHis staff has been super. They always help and answer any questions. Over the phone they respond quickly. rnrnThe only negative I have about the staff is the Nutritionist. The classes and meetings were very confusing and disjointed. The nutritionist jumped all over the place and did not teach in any cohesive manner. Due to the Nutritions lacking, I've had to rely on the hand outs and online learning. rnrnOver all I'd give Dr Ben-Meir and his staff a 8/10..
My surgeon and his office staff have been incredible. Some people are wary of the hospital being in downtown Cleveland, however based on the treatment and care I received I would recommend it to anyone. The whole process was like a well oiled machine. The surgery encountered an obstacle (liver) and the surgeon was very explanatory to my family and myself and was extremely concerned. My family was very apprehensive (what family wouldn't be) and to see the relief on their faces after this experience made my decision to go to Cleveland well worth it.
My surgeon is amazing. My first impression was great and it has remained the same. The office is like a finely tuned machine in motion. The staff is extremely helpful, kind and considerate. They take time to answer all questions, no matter what they are. There is a structured aftercare program (and pre-op too). I have joined a local support group that is affiliated with the hospital.rnrnI would rate my dr. as a 10+++, same with his staff. They have changed my life and I am only 7 weeks post op. I would highly recommend Dr. Ben-Meir.
Typical doctor, however, Dr. Ben-Meir has a great bedside manner and I truly felt that he was interested in how I was doing, not just from a physical standpoint. I think his surgical competence and beside manner are both great. rnrnHis staff is very efficient and never once did I feel uncomfortable with weigh-ins or anything that a typical \"obese\" person feels. The office and rooms contain furniture comfortable for people of larger stature.rnrnSt. Vincent's emphsizes aftercare with doctors, check-ups and group meetings.
Dr Ben-Meir was absolutely wonderful !!! He was very through and explained everything and made absolutely sure that I understood everything. He has a very professional staff that really cares about each and every patient. I took two years to make my decision and researched Dr. Ben-Meir and the Cleveland Center for Bariatric Surgery. I had a very successful surgery and recovery thanks to everyone at CCBC and Dr. Ben-Meir. I have lost 33 pounds since my surgery on June 7, 2007 and I cannot wait to get to my goal weight. I was very hesitant on the surgery and Dr Ben-Meir's success, I did the research and discovered that He was the best choice, and after all is said and done, I know that I will still feel the same.
I have a friend who had surgery 18 months ago who had Dr Ben-Meir. She's done so well and had no complications. She liked him and that was good enough for me.rnWhen I met him the first time, I was impressed with his knowledge and understanding. But, that pales to what I feel for him now. I could not have asked for a better surgeon. Besides being a great surgeon he has a wonderful beside manner. He takes the time to talk with you and LISTENS. He really cares for his patients. He is very \"hands on\". He wants to make sure you are taken care of 100%. I had some complications due to blood thinning meds and had to be readmitted twice after surgery. I saw him twice a day, every day while I was in the hospital for the complications. I simply can not say enough about him. HE'S GREAT!! rnrnNot to forget the staff at St Vincent's. They were all great too. From the staff at the Center for Bariatric Surgery to the great nurses and aides at the hospital. They were wonderful and knew their speciality.rnrnThere is a structured aftercare program from counseling, support groups, scheduled visits etc. This is a all encompassing program. Anything you need is addressed. The staff is available 24hrs a day if needed in an emergency. rnrnI would recommend St Vincent Charity Hospital for bariatric surgery and my surgeon, Dr. Ben-Meir.
