Dr Vanguri was wonderful. He was informative and knowledgeable. He is straight forward and sensitive to obesity and attached issues.`His office staff does leave much to be desired when it comes to office procedure and keeping track of patient info/payment/and general info. Dr Vanguri was wonderful in all aspects but the patient has to put up with inadequate office staff in order to see the best gastric bypass surgeon, who is Dr aparo Vanguri... :o)
I researched very hard to find the best doctor I could for this considering the seriousness of it and being my life in hand. I was very pleased with the info I found on him. And my first impression was a good one and felt very comfortable. Over time my opinion of him did not change. Was always pleasent and made me feel I made right choice. And the office staff is just wonderful. They treat you like family and remebered me rightfrom first visit even with the mass of patients they have. They do a full education and gave me al the info I needed to prepare. Through the whole thing he was a great doctor and gave me great attention. I had the best results that could be expected and now told I look too skinny, lol. The only thing that I wasnt happy with is that I had a few complications after surgery,But overall very pleased and would do it again.I highly reccommend Dr. Vanguri
A doctor whom I trust explicitly knows Dr. Vanguri and agreed with my choice. Actually, I was interested in a specific hospital (St. Joseph's) for the surgery. A positive about Dr. Vanguri from the start was that he seemed not to object when I stated that I wanted Dr. Makhzoumi (a pulmonologist) to take an active part in the process. (Unfortunately, I believe that many surgeons would not be so agreeable.)
The staff was friendly and helpful. They were very sensitive to issues I had. That has not always been the case with the medical field.
The first appointment was basically a "get-acquainted" and informational time. After a brief exam and review of materials sent to him, the doctor met with about 5 of us as a group to discuss the types and risks of surgery. There was time for questions. This was helpful.
Dr. Vanguri was straight-forwarded and honest. He answered all questions directly. He appears to have a sense of humor. I have a faily good sense about doctors from first impressions and he appeared competent, considerate and interested in those of us who were there.
I was impressed that he did not proceed with an "overload" of information. He seems to take things one step at a time, with the most immediate getting greatest consideration.
When we left, we had a "what's next" list and a basic timeline. All-in-all I felt good about the appointment.
Dr Vanguri is a very nice man. Great bedside manner and very very patient. He addressed all of my concerns and made absolutely sure I was ready for the change in my life. He along with my family doctor, worked side by side to assure I was very well taken care of.
During a tramatic series of events, he was there to offer his assistance to me and my family.
His office staff is excellent and very friendly.
The hospital I was in sucked but overall Dr. Vanguri gets an A+ from me.
A very pleasant and informative. My impression of Dr Vanguri never changed, he was very patience why waiting almost 3 years for the approval. He never gave up. The office staff is wonderful every few months they would call Marie we haven't heard from you what's going on? I'd let them know as soon as I heard something they would be the first to know. He's wonderful! Aftercare begins 5/10/05 and yes it's very structured.
Dr. Vanguri is a very friendly and competent individual. His office staff is also very kind and concerned about the sucess of every patient. I am a health professional and can appreciate this type of positive bed side manner.
Aftercare is very important in the Dr.s view, and I cannot agree with him more, his attention to detail is very confidence inspiring.
Dr. Vanguri is very open and honest about all of the risks involved, and has taken a real concern with my overall sucess. I give him an 8 out of 10, because... noone is perfect.. :)
About the only negative aspect is that appointments were difficult to schedule due to his busy surgery schedule. I had to wait about 9 months from my approval, but that seems to vary.
Dr. Vanguri is so experienced with this surgery that he put me at ease immediately. Nothing rattles him, which is great, because I rattle easily. Everytime I call his office, his staff is extremely helpful and they are always willing to fit you in if there is a problem. He does have a good aftercare program with monthly support group meetings and a once a month B-12 and consult appointment. I would recommend him to anyone considering this surgery!
This is an excellent, caring surgeon who takes the time to help and explain everything to you. Over time, I have come to understand the importance of having such a good doctor. The office staff is extremely helpful and always return my calls. I have to say that there is not one negative I can say about this surgeon or office staff. Patients should know that this surgeon is with you all the way. He doesn''t just do the surgery and forget about you. He is great with emphasizing aftercare and will call you if you miss a visit to his office. He encourages weight loss support groups and provides lots of information to take home and read. He addressed all my questions and explained the risks as well as the benefits of the surgery. I would rate him an A+++. He has great surgical competence and a great bedside manner which are both important.
