Very positive about this surgery, very committed to what he does. He looks at his patients at people, not as a number with a dollar sign in front of it. My impression has only gotten better over time. He only has one person in his office, Cathy and she is very helpful and patient with all of us.
My only negative so far about this surgery was my psych evaluation. I did not like the Dr I had to see and after reading my report there were so many things that were reported inaccurately that my PCP acutally asked me if I had really seen the guy because the report certainly wasn't me. Other's have had the same feelings about him. But...he is Dr Trivedi's choice and we have to live with it.
On the other hand, the meeting with the nutritionist was very positive. She was very knowelegeable and easy to talk to and I liked her quite a lot.
Dr T empasizes aftercare contiually. He is very blunt prior to the surgery as to what your life will be like afterwards but that is a good thng. By being so honest and open about the dangers of the surgery and our lives afterwards his patients understand that they have to follow his prgram.

My first impression was 'He's a serious and professional Doctor' because he's very conservative about the surgery. In being able to speak to him, I was able to see a very caring, super nice, and thorough doctor. He even spoke to my hubby in great detail at the support group meeting which he always attends and gave him absolute undivided attention. He's blunt and lets you have the whole truth and nothing but the truth! The very good AND the very bad of the surgery. He's honest and tells you to check out other doctors instead of doctor-bashing as I have heard some doctors do. Kathi, his assistant is very knowledgeable and so sweet. Dr. Trivedi has his set ways of doing his surgeries and you have to see the nutritionist and psychologist that he sends you to even if they're not covered under your insurance. This was OK with me because I knew that these Doctors would have the very best in mind for me. This is not a light surgery...it's VERY major and knowing Dr. Trivedi trusts them to clear me...makes me know I will be OK mentally and nutrionally if I get cleared.

I was using Dr Marema in Ft Lauderdale, but he wont do surgery on me cause I have hep C
I met Dr Trivedi on Dec 18 and again one to one on Jan 8th He is going to do my surgery. He is a wonderful surgeon and is very very nice.

Very nice (his staff too!) Explained everything completely, from the surgery to the changes in eating habits. He was very honest, gave me the worst and best case scenario, told me to prepare for both. Always accessible, no answering services to deal with, I have his personal pager #, stressed that I could call anytime with questions. Looking forward to the surgery, and feel totally safe in his capable hands

Amit Trevedi is the BEST physician I have ever met. I liked him at first meeting but now that I've had surgery would recommend him without hesitation. He cares so much. He gives the floor nurse his beeper so they didn't have to go through the service and he calls on the phone and visits twice a day. He does't pull any punches. His bedside manner is A+.

He operates now at Memorial Pembroke (I went to Mem. West) I was in ICU for 3 days and then moved to a regular room. My sister is a physician and she told me that any other doctor would have abandoned the lap and switched to and open procedure. Trevedi didn't and hung in there for me. I couldn't give this man higher marks. He is an awsome doctor.

Also, he gives patients his beeper so you can feel free to bother him at any time!
This man is so great that 8 months after surgery he hadn't seen me in a while, and he called me at my office to see how I was doing. Have you ever heard of a surgeon who calls you 8 months after surgery? let alone a surgeon who knows who you are and cares about you??????????????????????????????

Well, my first visit went well, although I left the office more scared then ever. I realized that he was just telling me like it is. He does give you the option of thinking about is this what you really want to do, and if so then ok lets get started. I've only heard good things about Dr. T also he has a wonderful assistant name Kathy, oh my god, I never knew a person could be pleasant all the time.

I went to his support group on 10/15/01. I was very impressed with his knowledge, his gentleness, his straight-forwardness and the fact that he does other surgeries - he's not a bariatric surgery factory. He also has a very intense post-op care plan which I really liked. I have my first consult schedule now for 12/13/01.

Dr. Trivedi is on my insurance so I recently had a consult with him. The office staff was great. Kathy was very nice.
Unfortunately, I was disenheartened after talking to Dr. Trivedi. I found his Doom and Gloom explanation of the possible complications to be over the top. He could not say anything positive. He is starting an aftercare group. I am going to switch to Dr. Carasquilla/English and meet with that office before I give up the idea of the surgery. As an RN, I am aware of the importance of informed consent but it must also be tempered with the positive aspects of the surgery, which it was not. THis is my opinion only from my experiences only and I did also speak with some of his post op patients who were thrilled with his care and recommended him highly. For me...it just was not a match.
