I found you and your office and I could not have asked for anything better. Your professionalism, communication, understanding, and time you have taken to know me as a patients means the world to me. The choice I made to have the LapBand procedure and more importantly putting myself in your hands and feeling safe I cannot ask for more. I've lost weight in 4 months and am happy with the results and more to go. I have found that my dedication, conscious effort, follow-up with you and having an open honest conversation about my progress and having a great nutritionist team to work with to help me with my checks and balances will help me reach my goal and a testiment to my success story. I will alway keep you in mind so thank you for being my surgeon and doctor. I am greatful to have met you.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Abkin. It came to a point in my like where I needed this done to feel better about myself and become a healthier me. Once I met Dr. Abkin I knew I was in good hands. I am a lower bmi so he did tell me my weight loss would be slower but still was very encouraging. Surgery day was great I was home by 11:30 am and by luck of the draw I had no gas pains at all. I went to home depot the same day after the surgery. Well 2 weeks out and I feel awesome.

I was banded my Dr. Abkin 4/22/11. I decided to have Dr. Abkin do my surgery because he made me feel comfortable with my decision and was very respectful to me during our consultation. My husband was with me during my consultation and I requested that my weight not be revealed. Dr. Abkin was very professional as he spoke and was most sensitive and courteous to me and my embarrasment in front of my husband.

After I decided to do the surgery, Dr. Abkin and his staff were very nice and accomodating with appointments and trying to get me moving along. Pre op requirements at his office were very friendly and everyone recognized me everytime I came in. I also learned at one of these appointments that Dr. Abkin has a great sense of humor and made me feel that there was a level of comfortability.

Day of surgery, Dr. Abkin was all smiles and I was not. Again he made me feel good about my decision and explained everything in detail what would happen during and after surgery.

I just had my post op yesterday and I'm down a significant amount of weight and once again Dr. Abkin was very thorough in his exam and expectations of the next few weeks.

I would give Dr. Abkin an excellent overall rating. 2 weeks post op and 8 weeks since my decision to do this, there is not one negative thing to say about him :)

There is one negative and that would be about an office staff member. They are very short and pushy on the phone when you call but you don't always get her, everyone else is very pleasant.

I had the band 6 weeks ago. From start to finish, I had a great experience with this doctor and the rest of his office.

I never really thought I would be this over weight... but I am. So.. I attended a seminar thinking maybe this might work??? I was blown away by how Dr Abkin and his staff were really interested in helping me to Get Healthy! It's not an easy task... I do work at this but without His Surgery I would not have this tool.. which is my New Best Friend! Thank You Dr. Abkin and everyone there that helped me. I'm just starting on this Journey... but already down 30 pounds and know there are so many more good things in my Future!

By far, this has been a wonderful experience and I can't say enough good things about Dr. Abkin or his "crew". The decision to have WLS was not one I made overnight, as a matter of fact it has taken several years of research, observation, thought and prayer. I was fortunate enough to have an "insider's" opinion of Dr. Abkin as I worked as an RN at MMH and took care of his postop patients for a few years. I can say that Dr. Abkin is a skilled, dedicated and extremely well educated surgeon. I cannot imagine entrusting my life to any other. That being said I have to also commend Dr. Abkin's exemplary staff in both his Florham Park office and JFK Fit for Life office in Plainfield. I have never met a group of people more dedicated and genuinely interested in my success. From Joanne (receptionist) who CAN DO ANYTHING and does it with a smile and a joke, to Trish and Pat, Dr. A's nurses who are knowledgeable and caring. I could not have hoped for better and know that if I have a problem they are merely a phone call away. Dr. Abkin strongly urges his patients to adhere to the post op guidelines and really urges us to attend support group which is a testament to his dedication to our success. He's not the kind of surgeon who merely does his part and detaches from his patients. He wants us to be healthy, happy and knows that it takes a team of specialists to give a patient the well rounded support they need. I am forever grateful to "The Team" for this new lease on life".

Dr Abkin was my original Bariatric Surgeon back in 2004. He was awesome then and I have learned that his practice helps the patients through the WHOLE JOURNEY... I am a success story and I have lost over 100 pounds and managed to keep it off. I attribute that to staying involved with support groups and keeping in touch with the doctors.

His practice promotes coming back annually to have blood work done so the doctors can stay informed about their patients. Believe me when I say how important that is. We choose to have Gastric bypass and once we do it becomes our responsibility as patients to make sure we get our protein and fluids in. The doctors are invested in our progress and ask that we do Annual Blood Work to make sure our vitamin and mineral levels are still good.

I've recently had other health issues and Dr Abkin and Dr. Iannace were right there to help me! They know what Issues I have and were able to get me the help I needed! Thank You Dr. Abkin for being there. You are great and i Really Appreciate what you have done.

I had Gastric Bypass in 2004 with Dr. Abkin. He gave me back my life.. a much healthier Life . Today I signed on to Google and saw it was the 119th anniversary of the Ice Cream sundae. That is what brought me together with Dr. Abkin. Ice Cream was my weakness, my best friend and MY downfall! Happy Anniversary to the Ice Cream Sundae... and more Importantly THANK YOU TO DOCTOR ABKIN for Giving me back my life and always being there for me!

I lost 110 pounds and have learned through use of his resources how to manage my foods and keep it off! His program is great and I owe him alot! I love being a card carrying member of the DUMPING SYNDROME CLUB... and therefore I can even toast that Ice Cream Sundae with a few bites!

I never saw my self as someone needing this surgery but once you add all the other complications that come along with weight gain it was a challenge to maintain weight forget about losing weight. I thought about this for about a year and continued to find reasons on why I don't need to do this surgery to lose weight. I had the will to do it on my own. I am here to tell you it is not will but it is a life style change that you have to adapt to and if you don't have the correct tools it becomes an extreme challenge that you can't measure up to so easily. Especially if you work odd hours and can't schedule your life accordingly.

With this new tool provided to me it made me think differently and work differently. It brought back many years of missed enjoyment due to aches and pains over those years. It was truly due to Dr Abkins seminar and great support.

I want to Thank Dr Abkin for his patience and professionalism throughtout my process. He is the inspiration that made me continue on my path to great health and a new life journey. His staff are good but he is truly a great man with great care for all his patients before, during and after the procedure.

First i just want to say thank you Dr. Abkin for all you have done for me. , you performed my Lapband surgery on 2/8/11 and two weeks later i have already lost 13 pounds. I am so much more happier these days.
