My doctor has referred me to Alex Argotte MD in Paducah KY. I was very impressed w/ Dr Argotte at my consultation. He was very patient with me when I asked questions. He was very confident that we could get insurance approval with no problems. He does alot of testing preop and preop education. He stresses aftercare and support. His office staff was very pleasant and professional. His patients that were in the waiting room couldn't stop praising him! It was a very positive experience.
I first meet Dr. Argotte at his seminar at Cape Girardeau, Mo, I think it was sometime in October or November. I was very impressed with him and his staff, very informative and to the point. Didn't seem to be in any hurry after the seminar was over at all. I appreciated his onisty why he prefered open as to lap. Looking forward to meeting him again on January 17 2005
My first impression of Dr.Argotte was that he knew what he was doing. He has a very good beside manner. His office staff are very friendly. His nurse Cindy it a sweetie. Dr.Argotte does require alot of pretesting which seems a bit much, but then I realized he was only doing it for my own protection to make sure there wouldn't be any complications. He does require after care and to attend support meetings if you want to succeed. The risk of surgery and gone over a few times and he makes sure you understand them.
I would rate Dr. Argotte as a very knowledgable doctor and would strongly recommend him.
Dr. Argotee is a wonderful surgeon, I am very pleased with him. He has a very good bedside manner but he is very blunt and honest with you. I like this in a doctor, he pulls no punches. He has a very good staff when you can get in touch with them! He is a very busy doctor and his staff is small and busy. Doctor Argotte is very adament about your aftercare. I moved before I got to see him after my surgery and when I was in the hospital in February. I moved to Georgia and found a wonderful Doctor that keeps a very good eye on me and my progress. I get a B12 shot every month and he checks my cuomadine level every month. That is one of the meds I still have to take and I will take it for the rest of my life. The other is I take one shot of insulin a day. When I went in to talk to the doctor he told me that I was a very big risk but I oppted to do it any way and I am very glad I did and would do it all over again even with the risk and the complications I have gone thru. Good luck to anyone who opps to go thru with the surgery but just remember one thing if you are going to have the surgery do it for YOUR SELF not for someone else!!!!!
i had researched this surgery for a very long time be~4 i met dr.argotti and i had decided that when i met him if i liked him and trusted him i would do the surgery if not then i wouldnt.... i met him and all i know to say is Dr.Argotte and his staff are amazing!!!very *dedicated very *caring very *professional *honest and *friendly... there isnt anything i dont like about him or his staff... they are all wonderful! its been 5 months since i have had the surgery and they are always there to answer any questions i may have and will stick with yout long after the surgery and dr.argotte is very careful with his patients i trust him and thats saying alot i never met a dr. i trusted *ever* and you will never find a sweeter staff than his they they are awesome!!!! dr.argotte will not sugar coat anything he tells it like it is... very honest professional sweet caring and direct this man cares about his patients its not just a money thing to him and that to me should say it all... all i know to say is... it is a pleasure dealing with him and his staff Dr.Alex Argotte anmd his staff are amazing!!!
My first impression of Dr. Argotte was that he is very direct,no nonsense to the point.
He took considerable time explaining to me the surgery he preforms. I feel confident that he is a very competent surgeon, and does have somewhat of a dry sense of humor after all. His staff is very helpful. I have had to call them on numerous ocassions to ask questions about test, and they have all been very helpful. Dr. Argotte places much emphasizes on aftercare. He told me that I would have to have regular visits the 1st year, then would have to return once a year for the rest of my life. He has a very structured aftercare program, and works closely with the dietican. I feel that Dr. Argotte was very open and honest with me about the surgery. He explained that there are risks involved, and that he will do everything possible to try to prevent any problems, such as he will implant the vena cava screens a couple of days before my WLS. I would rate him a 10. On my 1st visit, I thought he lacked bedside manner, but I was so very wrong. He is an excellent caring doctor who had done everything possible to make me at ease, and educate me on WLS. I think he is an excellent competent surgeon. He takes EVERY precaution to care for his patients. THANK YOU for saving me Dr. Argotte.
I got to meet DrArgotte i like him and his staff very much i will meet him again the monday B-4 my WLS DR Argotte is a very good dr that cares about how you are doing and take th time to liten to you his after care is very good he had told me all the risk involed with WLS his bedside manner and surgical competence are both very good I can not think of anything bad to say about him or his staff they are all very great and nice
DR. ARGOTTE IS VERY DIRECT AND STRAIGHT FORWARD ABOUT THE SURGERY AND POSSIBLE INSURANCE PROBLEMS.
BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR QUESTIONS WRITTEN DOWN BECAUSE YOU WILL FORGET TO ASK HIM SOME THINGS THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO KNOW.
MOST OF HIS STAFF ARE GREAT ESPECIALLY CINDY.SHE HAS BEEN VERY HELPFUL.
DR.ARGOTTE REQUIRES MOST OF THE SAME TESTS THAT THE INSURANCE COMPANIES REQUIRE. SOME DEPEND ON YOUR SYMPTOMS,SUCH AS MANY PATIENTS I KNOW DID NOT HAVE TO HAVE AN ENDOSCOPY OR COLONOSCOPY BUT BECAUSE OF SOME OF MY PROBLEMS I HAD TO HAVE THOSE.HE ALSO NOW REQUIRES ALL PATIENTS HAVE AN IVC FILTER PUT IN,WHICH IS A FILTER THAT IS PLACED IN THE VENA CAVE ARTERY TO PREVENT BLOOD CLOTS FROM GETTING TO THE HEART AND LUNGS.
ALL PATIENTS MUST FOLLOW BARIATRIC PROGRAM FROM THE HOSPITAL.
MUST MEET WITH DIETICIAN AND BARIATRIC PROGRAM NURSE,THEY GIVE YOU A BINDER OF SEVERAL HUNDRED PAGES WITH INFO AND STRICT INSTRUCTIONS THAT YOU MUST FOLLOW.
HE LETS YOU KNOW THAT IT IS A SERIOUS SURGERY THAT CAN RESULT IN MANY THINGS EVEN DEATH.
HE HAS A GREAT BEDSIDE MANNER AS WELL AS BEING A COMPETENT SURGEON.
Dr. Argotte is very caring and wants to make sure that it is safe medically to proceed with surgery. He is not one to just think about the surgery without weighing (no pun intended) all possible complications you may have. His office staff at times seems a bit overwhelmed; I believe this to be due to the fact that he is the only bariatric surgeon in the area and he has many patients. At every pre-op visit I had, he talked of the importance of follow up care after surgery and forever. The bariatric program at Lourdes Hospital is very structured and this helps with his office aftercare. I would rate him an excellent, caring surgeon.
