First impression is very positive of the dr. and his staff and facility. Aftercare is huge with him and that's a big selling point with me. We were informed of the risks of surgery. This will not be a swift process, but I am convinced that he is so very thorough that the risks will be minimal. My husband was not too sure about the safety of the surgery, but felt very confident after talking with Dr. Argotte. I'm so very thankful that this doctor is there, and that he has compassion for the morbidly obese. rn3-24-07 I am finished with all the testing, and it has all gone to the insurance company for approval. Having been to the clinic several times now, my impression just continues to be positive. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and caring. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Argotte to everyone. The aftercare with him is much more thorough than with other drs. I have inquired about. After the first two years, you still see him every 3 months forever. That is just excellent. I will post again after surgery-woo-hoo!

My first impression of Dr. Argotte was that he really cared about his patients and he was very informative about his treatment plan. He answered all of my question and took alot of time with me which impressed me alot. His aftercare program is very structured and rigid which is a very good thing. Everything is recorded by the patient and surgeon and since my surgery on 12/29/06, I am right on schedule of where I should be with my postop. He emphasized all of the risks of this surgery and made sure that I understood everything and what to expect post op. I think he is a top notched surgeon and would recommend his surgical skills to anyone who is anticipating this surgery. He's the best!!!

The first time i met Dr. Argotte I was very impressed. He was very knowledgable about these surgeries, has a high success rate and an almost non existant mortality rate. His staff is very well trained at being \"nice\" to those of us of size. I would recommend their center to anyone in the area. They handled everything for me and Dr. Argotte is very thorough in testing prior to surgery and does alot of Preventative Techniques, such as the insertion of a Vena Cava Filter, prior to surgery. His aftercare is very structured and follow up is a must. Everything was included under my insurance with the exception of about 500 dollars.rnI'd give him a perfect 10!rnHis surgical competence and bedside manner are awesome. I also want to say, he put me to sleep for everything i had done, i've never felt any pain whatsoever!

A dear friend of mine was Dr. Argotte's second GB patient after he moved to Lourdes. She spoke so highly of him that I decided to try to get in for an appointment. I first saw Dr. Argotte on Sept. 28, 2006, at one of his informational seminars. What struck me was his down-to-earth attitude about obesity, and he seems to understand the struggles we have all encountered. I was accepted as a candidate and had an appt. in mid-October. His entire staff made me feel at ease, and everything was explained at length. Dr. Argotte was helpful in getting my preliminary tests scheduled in a very timely manner, and I have now completed the first 10 items on my checklist, including all testing. The big thing awaiting me is the insurance approval process. Keeping my fingers crossed.

hello everyone. i didn't have the surgery but i was able to meet Dr. Argotte on May 13, 2005, with my godmother Reba Carter. I was her support angel. I believe Dr. Argotte would be the best surgeon for any who are thinking about having the surgery. He is very nice to all of his pateints. And he cares about them all. He's also very nice to their families. My impression just got better over time. I believe his office staff is the best anyone could ever pray and hope for. I don't think there is anything that I dont like about Dr. Argotte. He is one who wants to check up on you alot after the surgery to make sure you are doing o.k. He not only explained the risk to the pateints but to their families also, that way the family can be there better if the know the risks also. I would rank Dr. Argotte a 10 on a 1-10 scale. With 10 being the best. I believe they are both great because I would want a surgeon who knew what they where doing and who would treat you right and care about you. I wouldn't want someone who was doing it for the money and didn't do a good job. So, if anyone is thinking about having the surgery look into Dr. Argotte.

Dr. Argotte was absolutely wonderful. I knew from the very begining that I was not just going to walk in there and have the surgery right away. He is very thorough. He made me have a million and one tests done, But he explained to me why everyone had to be done. He didn't want any surprises during surgery. I did have a long haul. It was over a three hour drive, But I wouldn't go to any other surgeon. He was the one I wanted to do my surgery. I had been to 4 other seminars. Some surgeons were closer. Dr. Argotte knows what he is doing. I would recommend him to everyone. Some people do not like the fact that he is so honest. He will tell you exactly the truth. When he wants you do the diet for shrinking the liver, he tells you that if you want the surgery, you had better stick to the diet, If you don't, then he will refuse to do the surgery. He has cancelled them before. He does not want to work around a fatty liver. I liked him. I liked his honesty. That is why I chose him. What didn't I like? The distance, but that was not his fault. I didn't like my follow visit. But that also wasn't him. It was an intern who told me I did not loose enough and I needed to loose more. She made me feel like a failure when i felt good about my weight loss. I also didn't like the fact that before surgery, They never answered there phones and couldn't get faxes. But Right before surgery, They got all new employees and they all answer the phones now right away. So, everything i didn't like is now fixed..

THE FIRST IMPRESSION WAS GREAT AND THEN AFTER MY SURGERY I FELT LIKE IF I WAS LEFT OUT ON A LIMB TO FEND FOR MYSELF. HE HAS NOT ANSWERING SERVICE AND IF A PERSON IS SICK AND DOES NOT WANT TO RUN TO ER AND PAY THAT HIGH CO-PAY OR IS TOO SICK TO GO TO HOSPITAL THEN ONE IS REALLY IN TROUBLE. HE HAS A WONDERFUL ASSISTANT WHO SEEMS TO CARE MORE THAN HIM. THE RECEPTIONISTS THAT HE HAS EXCEPT FOR ONE IS REALLY HATEFUL. HEATHER IS NICE AND HAS NOT BEEN CORRUPTED YET. A FYI FOR ANYONE WHO IS GOING TO USE THAT DR. MAKE SURE THAT EVERY TEST THAT HE SAYS THE INSURANCE REQUIRES IS VERIFIED WITH EACH INDIVIDUAL'S INSURANCE BECAUSE IF THEY DO NOT REQUIRE IT AND THE TESTS ETC. ARE DONE THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THAT INSURANCE WON'T PAY FOR IT. HE REQUIRES A LOT OF TESTS WHICH MY CASE MANAGER FROM THE INSURANCE SAID THEY DO NOT REQUIRE AND I SHOULD ASK HIM WHY THESE TESTS HAVE TO BE DONE. WATCH OUT.

I met Dr. Argotte in Sept.2005 at one of his seminars. I was really impressed with him on how informative he was and answered all of my questions. I went to his office for the first time on feb.20,2006. He was truthful to me on the risk of surgery and on the weight comming back if I didn't work at it. I would recommend anyone to see him. He is very compationate towards his patients. His staff could use a little help though. They stay so busy .

My first impression of Dr. Argotte was that he really cared for me as a person. Over time I saw that my first impression was right. Everyone there was so helpful. I really have not had anything bad except for a long wait 1 or 2 days but that wasnt bad. You should know that he will not rush your surgry he wants to make sure your healthy and understand what your doing and what will happen. He also wants you to follow up and hes very serious about you keeping in touch and following after care. He will let you know upfront what a serious surgry this is and makes sure your up to the challenge. Dr. Argotte is the best doctor i have ever been to I wish he also had a family practice I'd see him all the time. Both surgical competence and bed side manner are important because they need to know what they are doing and you need to know your not just another chart to them. Dr. Arogtte gets an A+ in both.
