Dr. A and his staff were wonderful. I only have good things to say about them. I was visited at least 2 times a day while I was in the hospital and also visited in the apartment on the weekend. They are all concerned about your health and healing. Dr. A has been doing this surgery for a long time and you can trust him to do the best. I really enjoyed the team that helped me. The nurses were also great. They took such great care of me. I cannot say enough good things about my experience. I have only been in contact through email at this time. I tried to have the surgery here in the states, but was denied, so I am heading south of the border as a self-pay! Like most patients, I first met Dr. Aguirre when his daughter, Rosella, took my wife and me to his office a few doors down from the hospital where he performs surgery. He is a true gentleman. He explained the surgery using pictures, performed a brief physical exam, and made me feel completely at ease about the next day's operation. He specifically explained the risks of surgery and that if he made a mistake, he would correct it at no cost to me. After I was released from the hospital, he even came over to the apartment where we were staying to explain the rehydration and refeeding process and gave us copies of all medical records related to the surgery so I could take them to my primary care physician. I knew going in that there was no way that a surgeon in another country could have a formal aftercare program. I am an adult human being, however, and can read and follow instructions. If I feel the need to cry to Dr. Phil, there are plenty of shrinks here in the Bay Area who are willing to take my money. Dr. Aguirre reminds me of the physicians we used to have in the United States before greed and insurance screwed everything up. Unless you have some psychiatric abnormality that requires a long period of post-op hand holding or can't get past the marketing con job the American death care industry has done on you, then I would highly recommend Dr. Aguirre and his capable assistants at Cardiomed.

Dr. A is a caring, compassionate surgeon and is very knowledgeable in his profession. His office/hospital is cleaner than the ones here in the states and full equipt. His staff is equally compatant and even tho most of them speak little english they never fail to undrstand and offer thier support to you. Future patients should know they are in good hands and shouldnt be afraid of going to Mexico for surgery. You will be treated better than you can imagine. Dr. A does go over the risks and when you leave the hospital you are given sheets of instructions to follow post-op. You an also call him or his daughter Rosella at any time. With him you have surgical competance, and bedside manner all in one.

Ensenada and Dr. Aguirre was an absolutely great experience. Dr. A was wonderful and thoroughly explained everything. I felt very at ease. He is an excellent surgeon. His staff is wonderful. His assistant Rosella was great! She is Dr. A's daughter and she makes all the arrangements. She was so sweet and came to visit everyday. The nurses at the hospital were fabulous, caring, and attentive. I had Alejandra and Sonia and they were the best! I also had Alejandra for 4 days of private nursing visits. I utilized Dr. A's designated apartment and nursing service. I highly recommend it. I also can't say enough good things about Bambi (Dr. A's driver). Just past my 5 year post op anniversary and I just wanted to thank Dr. Aguirre. I will be forever thankful to him, his family and staff. I am maintaining -150+ pound weight loss, all of my health issues are resolved, off 8 medications I was on pre-op and loving life. Have only been in contact through e-mails. He is very fast to respond as is his daughter Rosella. They have always responded within 24 hours. Surgery is done and I would recommend him to anyone. He was very good at making sure you understand what the surgery is about and how you are the one to control the results. I was impressed by the caring and compassion of his staff. I can not think of anything negative about my experience.

Dr. A was a lifesaver. He took wonderful care of me and his staff is amazing. I strongly encourage anyone interested in having this surgery in Mexico to check into having it with Dr. Aguirre.

Dr. Aguirre is the most wonderful man! He is professional, yet very caring. He took such good care of me, especially through all my difficulties. He came to see me several times a day and told me he and his family were praying for me. He didn't even charge me for my 2nd surgery... which he performed on a Saturday! I just love him!!!
