I have been overweight most of my life. I actually lost 90 pounds myself but do to medical issues it all came back. My boss herself has had the sleeve surgery and asked me to check into it. Can I say I am so happy with my choice. I am what is called a risky patient to do surgery on but the doctors went over my records and were willing to do the surgery. I had my surgery in April of 2013 and have lost 90 pounds. I am actually lower than what I was before. I saw a friend the other night that I had not seen for a month. He told me I have lost more weight and am going to blow away in the wind. What a wonderful thought.
So many people have asked me how I could of gone to Mexico for the surgery. My care was excellent. The hospital was great. The doctors were fantastic.
I see overweight people in the stores and know what they are going through and will just stop and talk.
This was the best decision I ever made. I could yoyo the rest of my life but now I will always be where I want to be. I started at a size 18 and bought a pair of 7 jeans the other day.
I can only say that Dr. Aceves saved my life and my sanity and will be forever grateful.

I had surgery Febuary 18, 2013. I was 260 lbs before my surgery. I have lost 80 lbs in 9 months. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Aceves. Dr. Aceves and his staff took such excellent care of me and I have had wonderful results from my surgery. I had no post operative complications and his staff was there for me every step of the way. I was so out of control with my health and my weight as well as my eating habits. Dr. Aceves and his staff have given me my life back. I was so anxious about travelling to another country but it went so well. Surgery is never fun but they kept me comfortable and cared for me and my mom who came with me. I am such an advocate for the gastric sleeve surgery. My only regret is not doing it sooner.

I had Gastric Sleeve Surgery performed by Dr Aceves on October 24, 2013. I have already lost 39 lbs in less than 20 days. The experience was very stress free - and I went there alone. The hospital is very nice.

They have a team of people that really take care of you from Ernesto the van driver who gets you from San Diego, to Nina and Karla and Dr Campos and, of course Dr Aceves. Dr Aceves and Dr Campos checked up on me every day. Dr Aceves also fixed my hiatal hernia and my umbilical(belly button) hernia at no extra charge. I was back at work one week later and I feel great. I wake up every morning feeling better and more optimistic and can't wait to get on the scale!

I decided to have the surgery with Dr Aceves after talking to a co-worker who had the surgery with him and lost 170lbs. I fully expect to lose as much or more. I would highly recommend Dr Aceves for anyone considering Bariatric Surgery!

I had surgery on November 6, 2012. I am 29 years old and I have lost 128 pounds in four months. My health has never been better and I have yet to have any complications. The facility and staff are very helpful and kind and I would recomend Dr. Alberto Aceves to anyone. Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos explain how the surgery is a tool to help you become healthier person. I have followed their guidelines and from the amount of weight I have lost it is working and I average 3-4 pounds a week. I make sure to drink my 60 grams of protein daily and I do snack on healthy foods and am able to eat small portion size meals.

I had my laproscopic DS surgery on December 22, 2012 in Mexico. My better half had his the day before. We were both pleasantly surprised at how nice the hospital was and even more surprised at the excellent care we were given while there for a week. Three different doctors would come by daily that were involved in our cases. In the states you are lucky to get your one doctor to come by and see how you are doing once per day.

Karla was our liason. She was a blessing in keeping us informed and making our needs known. The staff was courteous and prompt.

Nina answered all my questions prior to arriving in Mexicali and had all the arrangements made for us once we landed in San Diego. This included Ernesto driving us to and from the airport. I even met Nina's mother at the hospital. All these people were super nice.

Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos are angels in my book. They gave me and my better half a chance to live a LOT longer with their expertise. They truly are concerned for their patients well being and made it plainly evident with each visit and the after care we have been given via email. Gaby helps relay all information with our after care.

My better half has lost 46 lbs and doesn't have to take blood pressure, cholesterol, or insulin meds anymore! Hurray! He is absolutely walking on air from so much improvement in his overall health and new found energy. So far I have lost 25 lbs at exactly 2 months out. The first 20 lbs I lost within the first 3 1/2 weeks and the past 6 weeks have lost 5 lbs. The surgery has finally ended my gradual weight gain on 500 calories a day diet. Even though I haven't lost nearly as much as most people do with this surgery, my main goal was to keep from gaining any more weight and thus I see this surgery as a success. Genetically, my body has always retained and added weight like a sponge, and I was worried as I aged the constant dieting since I was sixteen (and gaining all the while even though on a diet) would not suffice and I would be wheelchair bound by the time I was 60.

For anyone wanting this surgery I highly recommend this Dr. Do not wait a day longer to contact him if you feel this is the surgery for you.

Dr. Aceves absolutely changed my life! He gave me the tools I need to make a better future for myself. I was sleeved Sep.19,2012 and have so far lost 85 pounds. i had sleeve surgery on September 25, 2012. I had an excellent experience with Dr Aceves and his entire team. I have had no complications and was very well taken care of at the hospital. The hospital staff were friendly and helpful. I had researched quite a few surgeons and facilities and decided that Dr Aceves was the right surgeon for me. Everything went very smoothly from start to finish. I had traveled alone from Canada and felt very safe. Dr Aceves also did a hiatal hernia repair at no extra expense. I am very grateful to Dr Aceves for his exceptional care and surgical expertise and am well on the road to weight loss. Thank you again Dr Aceves.

Hello my name is Dorian. I have been over weight my entire life. After years of YoYo dieting I decided to take the next step and have WLS. I researched doctors for almost a year. I knew the only doctor I wanted to do my gastric sleeve was Dr Alberto Aceves in Mexicali. To be honest I was scared about getting it done in another country, until I met doctor Aceves in person. He does not sugar coat anything. He gives you strait up answers even if they aren't what you want to hear, witch I greatly respect. So, after meeting him in person and touring the hospital. I scheduled the surgery for 2 weeks later. His staff was excellent in getting my surgery scheduled and explaining everything in great details. I had my surgery on 9-21-2012. Everything went perfect, I was lucky and was in no pain at all. Let me tell you this hospital is by far better than any I have been to in the US. There were 3 nurses looking over 6 patients and they all spoke good english. The doctors would come in 2 or 3 times a day to check on you. I was 390 lbs on the day of surgery (09-21-2012). Today 10-31-2012 I am 317 lbs. That's a weight loss of 73 lbs in less than 6 weeks. If you are thinking about WLS, STOP thinking about it and DO IT!.
