Alberto Aceves Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

I had my sleeve surgery six months ago with Dr. Aceves. The care I received was excellent. He is an accomplished surgeon and caring dr. My best friend, who is a nurse, just had surgery with him and she was also impressed. We both feel we got better care with Dr. Aceves in Mexico than we would have gotten here in the States.

I had a VSG done by Dr. Aceves on Feb. 4, 2014...only one week ago! I had a great experience! Dr. Aceves and his staff were wonderful and so helpful....I cannot say enough! So friendly and caring! I had almost no pain after surgery, just some soreness which was to be expected. I have never had such wonderful care in a hospital here in the US. I would highly recommend Dr. Aceves for anyone interested in having bariatric surgery, who does not have insurance coverage. If I had to rate my experience from 1-10, I would have to say 10+ !!!

I had the gastric sleeve on December 13, 2013. My experience with Dr. Aceves and his team was amazing! I was nervous about going to Mexico for such a medical procedure, but after all of my research he seemed to be THE ONE. I was not wrong. It was the best medical experience that I have ever had. MUCH better than any experience here in the United States.

I had a great experience with everyone from MBC. Nina, was very helpful in the pre-surgery planning. She was always there to answer any questions and helpful in my travel plans. When arriving at Almater Dr. Aceves and his team immediately put me and my husband at ease. We met with Dr. Campos, Dr. Aceves, the internist, and the anesthesiologist as well. Each one was very kind and open to any and all questions, and made sure we understood the procedure. Everything went very smoothly. I was never in much pain at all, and everyone worked to make sure that I was comfortable. MUCH easier recovery than I had anticipated.

The follow up care has been wonderful. Gaby, is available at all times with any questions after you return home. She sends a lot of helpful tips and information as well.

I highly recommend Dr. Aceves and his team. Not only is he a very skilled surgeon, but bedside manner is wonderful!

I had gastric sleeve surgery by Dr. Aceves on December 11, 2014. This was a great experience and
the daily results that I keep seeing are fantastic. Dr. Aceves ad his whole staff take care to treat you like
you are their only patient. I would recommend Dr. Aceves to any one who needs any type of gastric
surgery.

My surgical experience could not have been any better. Upon arrival to Almater Hospital for all my pre-ops, I was able to meet Dr. Aceves and speak to him extensively about my VSG procedure. He explained step by step what was going to happen during my time at the Hospital. He is very friendly, professional with excellent bedside manners. The Hospital is beautiful, clean and the staff is wonderful. Dr. Campos is the nutritionist and although he was great and would come and check on me several times a day the only downfall would be that I wish he would have spoken to me in more depth about the post-op diet right before being discharged. But then again, I was given all instructions in writing. I would definitely recommend Dr. Aceves to anyone considering Bariatric surgery.

I had VSG surgery with Dr Aceves on 1/13/14. I chose him for his experience with the sleeve. I had the lap band in 2008 and was impressed with him at that time. I had complications and the band had to come out in June. My insurance would pay for the band removal but not a conversion. d/t my esophageal dilation, I needed to let my esophagus heal. I started gaining the weight back that I had lost with the band. I decided I needed to pursue VSG. The cost of VSG in the US is more than I could afford. I could have chosen a cheaper surgeon in Mexico, but I wanted the experienced surgeon. You cant get the postop attention in the US that you receive at Mexicali Barriatric Center. I saw the Dr twice a day. He would take as long as I needed to answer all of my questions. My stay was uneventful, with no postop nausea, and minimal pain. I had no shoulder pain from the gas used during surgery. the anesthesiolost was excellent. I flew home on day 4 without difficulty. I would recommend Dr Aceves for VSG surgery

I am so glad I decided to go with this surgery, it was probably the best decision of my life for my health. Dr, Aceves and the whole staff are the best. A person decides to go there with some trepidation, but there was no need, everything was handled first class -- from meeting at the airport to the wonderful hospital and staff to the return ride back. I have had a lot of surgeries in Canada and nothing has ever gone this well, my husband even commented on how well the recovery has gone in comparison. I have never had a doctor who made me feel so comfortable and cared for, he was so down to earth and had lots of time. Having doctors visit 3 times a day and having my bathroom cleaned as often is unheard of anywhere else I have ever been. My surgery was Jan.9, 2014(2weeks ago), already down 16 lbs. and feeling really good. Thank you Dr. Aceves and all the staff for a wonderful experience, I would recommend Dr. Aceves to anyone thinking of getting something done for their weight, I tell everyone the staff made this a pretty easy thing to do. I had sleeve surgery done with Dr. Aceves on December 9,2013. The whole experience was absolutely wonderful. I arrived in Mexicali on Sunday I had all my pre op testing done and then was taken to the hotel and then picked up the following morning at 7:00 am and taken back to the hospital to have my surgery. The medical care by Dr. Aceves and his team is like nothing i've ever experienced, so professional and caring. Dr Aceves and Dr Campos were in everyday to check on you while you were in the hospital and chat about any questions or concerns you had. They always seems like they genuinely cared how you were doing. The pre care and the after care has been great to. If you email the office with questions they get back to you right away. Nina answered my million questions before surgery without ever being impatient and Gaby has been really great with all my after questions.

I felt so safe the whole time I was there, I wish we had hospital care like this in Canada. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Aceves and his whole team. If anyone has any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to answer your questions.

On January 4 2014 I was sleeved by Dr Aceves. The entire experience was awesome. The hospital is very nice and very clean. Dr. Aceves and his staff were fantastic and went out of there way to ensure I was well taken care of. In fact my husband got sick while we where there and they went well beyond what they had to to take excellent care of him as well.
I could not have asked for a better experience or better care!

I had revision surgery – from Lapband to VSG – on March 8th, 2013 with Dr. Aceves. While I am so happy with my Sleeve (down 70 pounds and about 70 inches!!), I can’t help but tell people what kind of experience I had with Dr. Aceves and his staff. From the moment I made contact with Nina to discuss surgery I knew I was in good hands. Everyone was so kind, compassionate and caring for my experience it really made something that could have been scary …. Not so bad!

We met with many there (& some I have forgotten names) but I have to say that Ernesto, Yolanda, Dr. Campos, Dr. Gutierrez and Sergio were fantastic! I wasn’t afraid of going to Mexico for surgery – I had done this before but elsewhere – but they did whatever they could to make us at ease.

Dr. Aceves is such a nice person – a truly genuine Dr. who cares about all of his patients. I didn’t feel rushed when he would come in to speak with me and was happy to answer any and all of my questions!
