Dr. Cribbins, is a young doctor, very knowledgable about what he does. He is a very nice guy, that make you feel welcomed being in his office. The office staff is just great!!! Andrea is a jewel. The office is very expeditious in getting the ball rolling. I went to the office for the first time Aug. 5th and I have already did my sleep apnea testing, and have ab appointment with the psychologist on the 25th. I would rate the staff a "10."
I was referred to Dr. Cribbins by the Healthcare finder at my insurance company,TriCare.
Dr. Cribbins is a very pleasant and personable man and an excellent surgeon. He really knows his stuff! He made me feel at ease and patiently answered all of my questions. I was confident going into surgery because I felt I had made an informed desicion. He provided lots of information and honest, open explanation of risks/benefits of the different types of WLS available. His staff was professional, but somewhat uninformed on TriCare procedure. One member of the staff was downright rude because of misinformation (on their part) that had to do with PCP referral requirement. (TriCare Prime requires a referral, TriCare Standard does not.) But this is just my experience. Maybe the woman I dealt with was just having a bad day. I did appreciate the fact that aftercare was emphasized as the most important part. Dr Cribbins is an excellent doctor and has a wonderful bedside manner. Overall, I would rate him a perfect 10.
I have only seen Dr. Cribbins 2 times. He seems to know his stuff and throughly explained bariatric surgery and the risk factor. He is young and has a wonderful smile and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Cribbins office staff is very professional and friendly. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being perfect I would rate Dr. Cribbins and his staff a 9. I feel a good bedside manner and surgical competence are both important and Dr. Cribbins and staff have both.
I will say that the office was nice and so was Dr. Cribbins but I think they now treat the surgery like it was a factory. I guess it says time to give 12 people the same speech at the same time. Everything was laid out. All information was given to us, I like that. I like the psychartist they refered us to.
I really like Dr. Cribbins. He looks young, but is very experienced. He was recommended by both my PCP and gastroenterologist. I feel very comfortable about that. Orginally I wanted RNY but after discussion with him, I am going with Lapband. CPAP pressure is too high and it has the possibility of a complication of blowing out the stomach staples. Dr. Cribbins was very straightforward and I like that. I had already done my research on the procedures and risks and he didn't talk down to me once he realized I knew what I was talking about. Last week (6/30/04) I met with him to discuss my gall bladder (have stones) and rather than push my WLS later in August, he is doing the gall bladder surgery on July 9. That is a Friday and he usually doesn't perform surgery on a Friday. I couldn't be more pleased. I think his bedside manner is great. He actually listens to what you have to say and addresses all of your concerns. Thank you, Dr. Cribbins
Dr. Cribbins is a very nice man. Don't be confused by his looks - he is very young, but very knowledgeable. He is very upfront and honest. He came out and explained the three different procedures he performs to us and then met with each of us individually. I had my mother with me and I liked that he asked if he could talk about my weight in front of her before just putting it out there. Very considerate. He gave me a chance to ask questions. Looked at all me information and told me where we would go from here. His office staff did not provide a great deal of information, but they answered all of my questions in a friendly and professional manner. I got the impression that they almost expect you to have done your research by the time you got there. I would definitely recommend his office to anyone considering WLS.
DR. CRIBBINS HAS A WONDERFUL BEDSIDE MANNER. THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME. IF I FEEL A DOCTOR OR SURGEON ISN'T THERE FOR YOU, I AM JUST NOT COMFORTABLE. THAT ISN'T THE CASE HERE. THE STAFF IS WONDERFUL. MELINDA, WHO WORKS IN THE FRONT, HAS ALSO HAD SUGERY, SO THE WHOLE STAFF IS CARING, HELPFUL & INFORMATABLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR/STAFF TO ANYONE WITH QUESTIONS OR WHO IS CONCIDERING THIS SURGERY...
Dr. Cribbins is a very good bariatric docter. He was very through and explains anything you have questions about. Melinda his patient coordinater was very patient and understanding. Don't call Dr. Cribbins office as Melinda keeps on top of the newest updates concerning you. I think the eating schedule could be written out differently for a better understanding. It's alittle confusing. I was pleased with Dr. Cribbins bedside manner and overall preformance. He seems concerned about his patients surgery and aftercare.
Dr. Cribbins is a very professional surgeon. He has a wonderful manner and doesn't make you feel fat at all!! As everone says - he looks very young. He has extensive knowledge in Bariatric surgery and explained to me in great detail what will happen during and after surgery.
I would most definately reccommend Dr. Cribbins and his team to anyone wanting to persue this surgery. I would also like to make a comment about Melinda the bariatric co-ordinator/nurse - Melinda is extreamly hard working and professional and she will do anything in her power to get you an approval. As long as you present to her ALL the information she requests she will work like a trooper on your behalf.
I met with Dr. Cribbins today, after waiting two months for this first consult I was glad to finally meet him.
Dr. Cribbins is very knowlegable in the weight loss field. He came out to greet all 7 of us in his waiting room. He drew on the board the three WLS produres he preforms. He gave all the pro and cons on all of them. He passed around a lap band for us to feel and hold, it was slightly larger than I had envisioned.
He let us ask questions of him, then we all got to meet with him indivually.
Before that I was weighed, asked my height and age. I was given a paper with all my BMI info on it.
Dr. cribbins entered the room and I found him very charming and very nice. We talked for a while and I told him that I wanted to have the Lap Band procedure. He said that I was a good candidate for this surgery. My BMI is 42.3, Ht. 5'8", Wt. 278.
He said all the paper work will go into my Ins. Co. I said "well, now it's a waiting time for me" So With the good Lords help I will be approved soon. Let the games begin, I'm so ready for this.
