Western Bariatric, AMC Bariatric Center
My first impression of Dr. Krahn was that he truly cared about me as an individual. His office staff was always helpful and informative. They make you feel very comfortable and in good care. Patients should understand that the appointments do not run on time because the nurses spend as much time as you need talking with you, so be prepared to wait in the waiting room, but I found it was a great opportunity to talk with others who have had surgery or are preparing for it. Great information is shared in that waiting room. Also I followed the doctors directions before and after surgery so I had no problems at all. I did not very from the diet he gave. Dr Krahn feels it is very important for the aftercare program and follow up visits are mandatory, and with good reason. All the possible risks involved were made very clear to me and I felt confident that I would be in good hands during and after the surgery. Dr. Krahn spoke with me just before surgery and I can truly say I was completely at ease when I went into surgery. The staff at St. Bernadine's Hospital were amazing, in the surgery room before and the after care was more than I could have hoped for, they understood my needs. Very caring and kind. I would highly recommend Dr. Krahn and his staff as well as St. Bernardine's. Thanks for the tool that gives me a healthier life. One year after surgery, I've lost 95lbs and feel great.
Nothing but good things to say about Dr Krahn, his Assistant Brian and the entire staff.rnFrom my very first seminar, to my consultation and now after my surgery, they have taken excellent care of me and given very good education both pre and postop. rnI sincerely feel as though Dr Krahn and his staff truly care.. that is priceless !!rnI did have a complication after surgery but even so, I was completely comfortable knowing that they were doing everything possible to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
Very handsome, compassionate, and knowledgable. Very firm, absolute. Listens and answers questions is always available.rnHad a very informative pre-surgery seminar, lost of tesitmonies, compassionate fun nurses, adressed all the aftercare, risks, and affirmed me as a good candidate. I believe surgical competence is foremost, but I appreciate a good Dr. who can talk well and care. I've had both. This Dr. is excellent. Surgery is set for sometime in Feb.rnrnOnly negative is that we both talk fast. He outalked me. Which is O.K. I tend to be a motor mouth.rnrnExtra comment - I had a lot of pre op work to do. Surgery was not until May 18, 05. It was difficult getting information on when the surgery was, so I was uncomfortable in April and almost back out. But I'm glad I stayed. I had the best. IT was well worth waiting for.
My first impression of Dr. Krahn was that he was down to earth and direct, which is what I wanted; a surgeon who would take the time to explain things to you without talking down to you would make it easier for me to go through with the surgery. My impression has been pretty much right on. His office staff is thorough, courteous, and thoughtful. Patients should know Dr. Krahn's office staff are professional and compassionate. I'd rate my surgeon and his staff as high as I could rate them. The only occasional problem is getting someone on the phone when you call the office. I was a bit disappointed I couldn't see him after surgery because he was busy at another facility and another doctor looked in on me. I'd have preferred he had seen me in the few days immediately after the surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Krahn and his staff to anyone seeking gastric bypass surgery.
