Western Bariatric, AMC Bariatric Center
I had gastric bypass with Dr.Krahn on December 4, 2015. My surgery went beautifully and I was resting at home the very next day. My recovery was quick and smooth because I followed all of Dr.'s orders. Now that I am post op I really get to experience the staff at Westeren Bariatric. I can't really describe the amount of support I receive. It is amazing and I truly appreciate the fact the these Doctors have chosen to surround themselves with such a talented and caring staff.
I have been a patient of Dr. Krahn's since 2008. I had no idea what to expect, but Dr. Krahn and his staff were very accommodating to my (any my parents) concerns. After careful consideration, it was decided that the Lap Band System was the best option for me. in August 2008, I had the Lap Band and did very well. My Highest weight was 345, and I was able to lose 175 pounds. I was able to maintain my weight loss for about 4 years. The following two years, I had regained 80 pounds and knew something was wrong.
Due to dilation of the upper part of my stomach, which rendered the Lap Band useless, I underwent a revision to RnY Gastric Bypass. Throughout the entire revision process Dr. Krahn explained that having the revision would be most beneficial and assured me that if I did my part, the tool would work. Even with Insurance bumps, his staff did everything they could to make the process seamless for me.
Dr. Krahn and his staff are very active at our support groups (on line and in person), follows up with Dr.s visits, and has been there every step of the way. They give their patients every opportunity to succeed. In total, I have lost 200 pounds, with my current weight being 145. Dr. Krahn and Dr. Chin are wonderful surgeons and I am thankful that Western Bariatric has been there for me every aspect of this journey.
I am a patient of Dr. Krahn and I had surgery in 2012. I have been nothing but pleased with my care. As a medical professional myself, I know the difference between a doctor and an office staff that cares and one that does not. In response to the review from mom2many I am somewhat curious if she kept up with her after care? I know that it is very important to have your blood work up to date and to go in at least once a year for a check up. I can also tell you that no medical office will keep records past 7 years, the law allows them to be destroyed after that point. I know from personal experience that any call/request that I make to either office is answered promptly and professionally. I thank Dr. Krahn and his staff for giving me my life back and standing beside me through this entire journey. I would and do, highly recommend Dr. Krahn and his practice to anyone.

During my first Run in 08 Dr. Krahn was very much still in the office meeting with patients. He was always very upfront and honest. He is a bit short, but I am not a sensitive person and all my questions are answered by his very supportive staff. The front office is ALWAYS on top of everything. They did not disappoint.
My second time around was for a revision to RNY from LapBand, Dr Krahn was there for a couple of my first few visits, but for the next few months I was helped by his new doctor Channing Chin. This guy is pretty cool. He knows his stuff ans is as upfront as Dr. Krahn.
The office staff is very much still on top of their game and they are led by a wonderful head nurse named Margaret. Although she is nice, she will take no excuses. If you are not on your game she will let you know.
Surgical and Post-Surgical staff are just as wonderful. I was well attended to during my stay at Parkview Hospital.

I am one week past surgery. I had surgery on Oct. 11, 2013. Dr. Krahn's office, called Western Bariatrics, has been full on. First there was one meeting where he and his associates are telling a room of us the options, how things work, etc. Then I've had visits at his office and needed an endoscopy. All the pre visits went well. His staff are very nice. The day of surgery Sam, Dr. Krahn's physician's assistant, I met for the first time. Oh, what I nice man. Talked with me. Answered questions. His entire presence was comforting. Surgery has gone well. One week out and I have no problems. And there's a great after surgery support system, which I find valuable. I'll be going to the first group next Wednesday. His office stresses that. The way I found Dr. Krahn is through a long term friend, Sherry, who had her surgery seven months ago. She raved to me that Dr. Krahn is the best. I think so also. Posted on Oct. 18, 2013, 4:07 p.m.

This is my surgeon but the office I went to is in Riverside, CA @ Parkview Hospital, which is closer to me than San Bernardino, CA.
I met him for the 1st time @ the seminar in San Bernardino, CA. He seemed nice and down to earth. I met with Brian a couple times my husband and I really like him, very nice down to earth guy. I talked to Dr Krahn just b 4 my surgery and afterward. He is a very nice man who knows what he's doing and really cares about his patients. He goes above and beyond. If someting happens after hours he is a phone call away. A diamond in the ruff!!!!
His staff in Riverside, CA is really super nice especially Tamara. Except 1 lady was hopefully having a bad day.

I met Dr. Krahn after interviewing 3 prior bariatric surgeons. They say 3's a charm. Whoever the "they" are they were right!
I just knew he would be the one......
Because I worked at one of the facilities that he preformed surgery at I saw him on occasion. I was always impressed that he remembered my name.
Dr. Krahn is a confident and it shows. Dr. Krahn is a good listener and always has his hand out to greet you and bid you farewell. I didn't see much of Dr. Krahn directly after surgery and only briefly before surgery but when I did see him his bedside manner and surgical competence stand out. The only part of all my experience that is frustrating has been the wait in office for check ups and fills. I can see that Dr. Krahn takes care of problem patients and emergencies immediately therefore the extra wait time. Thank you Dr. Krahn for being number 3 and my surgeon.
