I LIKED DR. BABINEAU THE FIRST TIME I SAW HIM.HIS OFFICE STAFF IS VERY HELPFUL.HE SAT DOWN AND DESCRIBED THE WHOLE SURGERY TO ME & A ROOM FULL OF OTHERS. HE TOLD US OF THE RISK AND THE BENEFITS TO THE SURGERY.I RATE DR. BABINEAU AS A 10.

My first impression of him was that he appeared very knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions. His office staff was all very nice. I'm glad to have them on my side. Dr. Babineau went through the risks of surgery very thoroughly making sure we all knew what could go wrong. I believe surgical competence is the best thing for a doctor to have but a good bedside manner doesn't hurt either. I believe Dr. Babineau has both qualities.

I'd have to say my first impression of Dr. Babineau was that he and I were gonna get along just fine! He came off as being serious about his work, but had the kindest eyes and smile. I decided quickly that he was the one for the job! I had researched another surgeon in Dallas, but never got that warm fuzzy feeling you are supposed to get whenever something feels right, you know?
As for the staff.........well, it's been nearly one year since my surgery and I can still tell you they are the most wonderful team I have ever been around! You can tell they like each other and it makes a difference in how your experience goes whenever you have a group of people that can work together for the same cause. I could tell they actually cared and it made me feel better!

If I had a question about my surgery, aftercare, diet, or any other issue, Dr. B or Freda were great! I must admit, I think those two were born to work together! They make an awesome team!

Keep up the great work you guys! You both are the very best!!! Now if only Dr. B can get Freda into cowboy boots the office will be complete! : )

When I first meet Dr. Babineau he made a very good impression on my mother who was with me and myself. He spoke professional and with great evidence of knowledge of the subject. Answered questions fully and after meeting him felt very comfortable with the idea of him performing the surgery on me.
His office personel was very kind and helpful. The doctor, and his staff after the first day I would rate them a 10 on a scale of 1-10. 10 being the best

My family doctor from my hometown and his wife, both of whom have had succesful RNY procedures, suggested that I call Dr. Babineau's office and talk to Freda. He performed their surgeries and they are both very impressed by his skill and care. So, I called and after less than a month my surgery is scheduled!
Dr. Babineau is a relatively young surgeon, probably in his mid 30's, and has performed RNY procedures for about 3 years. He is very versed on the procedure and was very thorough in answering my questions. He is friendly, but serious about what he is doing. His office staff is "on the ball" and was also very helpful in answering my questions. My current family doctor (Dr. Buzbee of Tyler, TX - a great internist!) was able to provide all the required medical information to Dr. Babineau's office the very same day I requested it. Withing a few days I had my psych consult and dietician consult completed. Freda, One of Dr. Babineau's nurses, submitted the info to Aetna on a Monday and I was approved that very same Thursday! I was expecting a 2 to 4 week waiting period.
Dr. Babineau and the staff are very honest and upfront about the risks of RNY surgery, both open and lap. I expect my surgery to go well. And I am glad that I can call his office at any time with questions. Freda will do what it takes to get the answers!

My first impression of Dr. Babineau and his staff was that cared and they were there to answer any question I might have.

My impression has not changed, if I call that are very patient with my questions no matter how minor.

His web site Tylerbariatrics.com, tells it all - every quarter he has a internet question and answer session.

He never acts like you are wasting his time and that he is superior to you. He treats you on an equal level.

I would rate him a 10.

I think surgical competence and bedside manner are equally important because the a patient needs the reasurance all the way through the surgery.

My impression of him was that he is a young looking man with proper knowledge of his medical field.

I went to the 8am group found the office staff to be very busy. They had a lot going on ie: phone calls from other clients while trying to get my BP, weight & height. Otherwiese I was impressed with the office help....

I'm still concerned with what to expect after surgery. I don't feel it was focused on enough.... I will assume that is what the support groups are all about.

I researched numerous doctors in Idaho, Washington state, Montana, Oregon as well as Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico & Oklahoma. After all the research I came up with 2 doctors in Texas to pick from. After extensive research I feel Dr. Babineau is the right surgeon for me. I hope he won't let me down. *smile*

My family physician has asked that I stay in touch with him and if all goes well for me he will look at referring others to Dr. Babineau.

1st impression came from a friend who'd had the surgery & she was very pleased. After my 1st consultation I felt confident in him.
The office staff is very professional, quick to respond, & helpful.
So far, I have no complaints. I am pre-op.
He looks really young, but who cares! He's qualified & has a high success rate. He is pleasant, efficient, & cares.
His program provides access to aftercare & support groups.
He states openly that all surgeries have ricks, but he addresses all those concerns.
Pre-Op, I would rate him a 10.
Bedside manner is too early to assess because I am pre-op, but surgical competence ia the #1 priorty, of course. I believe most patients want to feel that any doctor sees them as an individual and not just as another "case". So, when drs. take a few extra minutes to listen, it makes a world of difference to patients. Personally, I'd rather he spent his times doing what he's trained to do and do it well...not sit and hold my hand. That's what family and friends are for. His time is valuable & the next patient needs him just as much as I do.
