Toby Broussard, M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center

I went and consulted with Dr. Broussard, he was very polite and respectful, and put me at ease. Dr. Brossard talked with me explaining about the lap band and the sleeve surgeries, answering any and all questions I had, never rushing to get through the consult. At the end of the consult I was given telephone numbers e-mail addresses and told if I had any questions I could call or e-mail him. And yes he did promptly respond within a day to an email I sent him. Dr. Broussards staff is very caring , helpful, and went the extra mile in getting all my appointments and test scheduled in a timely manner. Everytime I'm at weightwise I'm always given the highest respect and taken care of very promptly. I Feel very confident in Dr Broussard doing my surgery and having his staff assist me in my weight loss.

I attended a weight wise seminar on Sept 9th, 2008. At first I was very apprehensive and felt like the surgeon was going to be out of my ball park. Mr Broussard is very blunt and straight forward, but if your not ready to hear the \"truth\" from someone that cares, than maybe you should look else where. He is not going to surgar coat things just so you will become his patient, he wants you to see and believe in yourself. He truly cares about his obese patients and willing to do anything to see them succeed. I was the last one to leave the seminar and it was well past 10 PM. Dr B answered all of my questions and made me feel confident in the decision I was making to choose weight loss surgery.rnrnDr B's staff at the front desk at the seminar took the time to answer my questions and get the information packet to me and answer any and all questions.rnrnI look foward to having my surgery with DR B. I believe he informed me well at the seminar, gave us the Pros and Cons of having the surgery, and basically telling you like it is. If your not willing to put 110% into you losing weight than don't bother to have the surgery. He can only provide you a tool and the rest is up to you.. He will be there to support you but don't try to BS him, because he will see right through you.rnrnGood luck in whatever decision you make.rn

My first impression of Dr. Broussard was pretty neutral. He was professional but personable. Over time, I've seen him as more laid back. However, he is straight forward with his recommendations and what I could expect from my surgery. His patient care staff are efficient and helpful. Some of the office staff seem a little overwhelmed by how busy his office is. Dr. Broussard seems to have to \"catch up\" whenever he comes into the exam room. I know he sees a lot of patients but as a healthcare provider myself, I try to familiarize myself with my patient's chart before entering the exam room. He and his staff - psychologist, dietician, nurse, etc - all heavily emphasize continued aftercare and it is structured. He did address the risks of surgery. As a matter of fact, I had to have my gall bladder removed 4 mos after surgery and he let me know that having my gall bladder removed may not solve all of my nausea and pain problems. I would give him an \"A\" overall. I have recommended him to other people. I think that surgical competence is highly important but if a doctor has a horrible bedside manner, I will not use him or her.

Dr. Toby Broussard and all of the staff at Weight Wise Bariatric Center/Foundation Bariatric Hospital are very supportive and encouraging. Dr. Broussard is absolutely a world class surgeon and a very down to earth individual. He knows medicine with all of its fine points of intellectual knowlege and by instinct with the inner drive of a true healer with a sense of calling to practice bariatric medicine. I can not imagine finer care. I would trust Dr. Broussard with my life...in fact I did !! You will not find a better surgeon.rnThe team approach at Weight Wise was EXACTLY what I needed.

DR BROUSSARD GAVE AN INFORMATIVE SEMINAR ON THE THREE TYPES OF WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY. HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL BUT IN A PERSONAL KIND OF WAY. HE TOLD BOTH THE GOOD AND BAD OF EACH OPTION. HE WAS VERY REAL AND ANSWERED ALL OF THE QUESTIONS THAT WE HAD. HE IS VERY ADAMENT ABOUT SUPPORT GROUPS AND AFTER CARE. HE GAVE ME THE IMPRESSION THAT HE IS MORE THAN JUST A SURGEON, HE REALLY CARES ABOUT THE OUTCOME AND THE INDIVIDUALS SUCCESS. HE DID NOT MAKE LIGHT OF SURGERY...HE WAS VERY REAL IN THE POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS BUT ALSO THE POSSIBLE SUCCESSES. HE WAS VERY ADAMENT THAT HE WOULD ONLY OPERATE IF HE FELT ABSOLUTELY COMFORTABLE WITH THE SITUATION. THAT MADE ME FEEL REALLY GOOD.

I was impressed with Dr Broussard's straight-forward attitude. I feel like I can discuss whatever I need with him. He lets you know from the start what is expected of you. He explained everything in great detail and answered all questions with ease and confidence. My surgery is 8-25-06. I will let you know more as I work with him more, but for now, I love him! He is helping me to make a dream come true!

My first impression of Dr. Broussard was that he was very young looking but after listening to him for almost 2 hours, I felt he really knew what he was talking about and I appreciated all the answers to everyone's questions. He didn't seem in a hurry and was really interested in everyone's questions and getting right to the point. The staff was very friendly.rnrnI felt that Dr. Broussard felt very strongly aboutrnaftercare and what the program consists of and how necessary it is to have all the resources the hospital provides.rnrnI feel Dr. B is a very confident and knowledgeable doctor and has put his heart and soul into his surgery and really wants to help people achieve their goals..rnrnI think surgical competence is a must and feel Dr. B has achieved that aspect and I feel his bedside manner will be positive and friendly.

My impression of Dr. Brossard is one of a very dedicated and astute surgeon. Clearly , this is not just a job for him, but a life mission. I am an RN and who has battled weight her whole life and have been on every diet known to man. I thought I knew everything there was to know but Dr. Brossard presented information that changed my whole \"understanding\" of weight gain and the management thereof. He is very thorough with his instruction about beforecare and aftercare of WLS and the risks associated. I walked in hopeless and came out hopeful that a real solution was available.

I have been very impressed with Dr. Broussard so far. At this point I have only met with him once individually but have heard him speak at the seminar and at a support group meeting. I'm from Louisiana also so I liked his accent.rnrn**update** My surgery was 8 days ago and I am convinced more than ever that Dr. B. is the very best at WLS. He is so down to earth and funny. I love the aftercare that Weight Wise gives. Awesome.
