Toby Broussard, M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center
Very knowledgeable and caring. He believes in what he does and in helping his patients achieve their goals. He makes sure you understand that WLS is a tool and you are responsible for using it....but he and his staff will offer all the help you need to achieve your goal. He's very professional and has a great sense of humor....
Dr. Broussard,Did an excellant job presenting all the information that I needed to know in regard to the options of weight loss surgery, the risk, aftercare, and his expectations of his patients. He was very honest and straight to the point and I really liked that about him. He let everyone there know that the surgery was only 40% of the process, lifestyle changes, exercise and diet are the remaining 60%. I feel that I would choose him as my surgeon because I feel that he would be someone that would and could make me accountable for anything that I was not doing appropriately in regard to my weight loss success. He is uplifting and beleives in what he does and what weightwise has to offer. I feel that surgical competence and bedside manner are both very important. I want someone competent and I also want someone that cares about me who wants to answer my questions. What I have seen of Dr. Broussard he appears to be an excellant surgeon that cares and wants to help people fight obesity.
I felt the surgeon had a really informative and pleasant personality.rnMy impression of him increased greatly over time in a positive mannerrnThe staff was very helpful and kind.rnNothingrnThat he seems to genuinely care about his patients and wants to see them succeed.rnThere is a lot of emphasize on aftercare.rnThey have a very structured aftercare programrnI think he done really well at explaining the risks.rnI rated him a nine overall since no one is perfect lol! Extremely well!rnI feel surgical competence is better but of course both competence and bedside manner is important.
My surgeon is wonderful! He's been upfront, honest and truthful from the very beginning. To combat my diabetes I had to go on insulin, causing me to regain all my pre-op weight. I've had to reschedule my surgery from 01-14-09 to 01-21-09 and feel very lucky that he's concientious enough to postpone it.
My first impression of Dr. Broussard was he was a knowledgeable no-nonsense type of guy. I was thoroughly impressed that the seminar was as detailed as it was and I appreciated his toughness in spelling out what would be expected of me and what we could expect from him. He was very tough about what I had to do as far as prerequisites for surgery and although it got frustrating at times, I appreciated his thoroughness.rnrnThe office staff was very nice and easy to work with. He really emphasized aftercare and stressed drinking all of your water daily. They provide a very structured aftercare program. He went over the risks very thoroughly especially since I had more risks than the average person.rnrnI rate Dr. B very high and recommend him to everyone who will listen! His bedside manner was good and I have no complaints on the surgical portion of it although I am still healing.rnrnI am one of the lucky ones to have had complications but all-in-all I can't complain. Dr. B. has helped me get through all of my hurdles and I would still recommend him again to anyone considering weight-loss surgery.
Dr. Broussard is very direct and honest about what to exspect and what the best options are for you. This impression did not change as I went through surgery. The staff in the office is friendly and very helpful. They continue to care about you after surgery, and want to help you succeed. I would rate Dr. Broussard as excellent. His surgical competence was excellent.
I met with Dr. Broussard this week for my first visit. He was very personable and answered all my questions. I left his office with a very good feeling and with all the confidence I need to make this journey a success!
I might add that my oldest daughter who is a patient of his also was with me and made it all the better! Both of my daughters are a huge support and should make this life change much easier for us all.
I've now had my surgery on April 15, 2009. So far all is going well. I do so think Dr. Broussard is the best! He always has a smile on his face and seems so pleasant. I truly believe he is all about helping obese people. You can tell that he really cares and I'm so thankful for that.
Dr. Toby Broussard appears to be very knowledgable, sincere and caring. He demonstrates a lot of passion regarding the benefits of weight loss. I feel very comfortable in talking with him about my concerns and asking questions. He really puts you at ease. His staff is friendly courteous and busy. They show compassion and excitement with the healthy possiblities in my future. I have not found anything yet that I least like. I recently had a colonoscopy performed by Dr. Broussard and was very impressed with him and his staff. They took away alot of my anxiety and was eager to discuss my future procedure, anwering lots of questions. Dr. Broussard's staff offers a strict aftercare program as well as lots of support. I would rate him more than satisfcatory on everyhting up to this point. While I strrongly believe that surgical competence is extremely important, Dr. Broussard has a great bedside manner as well.
