The Kane Center Bariatric Center
From the first time I met him I knew Dr. Guske was the right surgeon for me. I was terrified of the surgery as much as I knew it was the right thing. He talked to me for a long time, answered all my questions and while being honest about the risks took away my doubts. I felt very safe that he would do everything to assure my well-being. When I went for my pre-op visit I was excited but still very scared. Dr. Guske made me feel more at ease and we talked a bit about the \"what if\" factors and he assured me they would move my anatomy around very gently, they would take the best of care me and that I was making the absolute right decision. The day of the surgery I was beyond terrified and he was so kind and compassionate to the fact I was so afraid. After the surgery, he came to see me and talked to me and I felt assured that everything was going to be fine miserable as I felt. I rate Dr. Guske the absolute best. He is kind, compassionate, and truly cares about his patients. He told me that he loves what he does and enjoys it and I believe him. The program at the Kane Center/Suburban Surgical is excellent from pre-surgery protocol thru support/nutritional guidance. I am looking forward to becoming a part of the post-bariatric support groups. I think Dr. Guske has it all - he's a great surgeon, he's a kind and compassionate human being and he understands the emotional side of this surgery is a big change and also a frightening one. He has gone out of his way to help me and I am so grateful. I don't know that I would have done this had he not been the one who talked with me about my fears. I put my absolute trust in him to hold my life literally in his hands. I have no regrets and feel great about the decision to have him as my surgeon, to use the Kane Center and Alexian Brothers. I would recommend him and the program to anybody. Dr. Guske is an excellent surgeon as well as a wonderful human being.
I loved Dr. R. from the minute I met him and my opinion is still the same. He and his staff are all super and SO helpful. He had a very hard time w/my surgery and he treated me like a porcelain doll. He sees me regularly and emphasizes the importance of after care.rnHe was very straight forward as to risks and complications, both to me and my family. He is just super in every way.
I HAD MY MEETING WITH MY SURGEON DR. P. RANTIS TALKING ABOUT A REVISION. HE MADE ME FEEL SO GOOD ABOUT EVERYTHING. HE IS SO KIND AND CARING. I AM WAITING TO HEAR WHEN I AN GOING IN FOR RNY.
MY FIRST MEETING WITH DR. RANTIS WAS TUEDAY EVENING AUG 14TH. HE MADE ME FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE. HE WAS RIGHT TO THE POINT ABOUT THE PRO'S AND CON'S ABOUT BOTH SURGERIES. I FELT A GOOD CONNECTION WITH HIM. I HAVE ALOT OF TRUST IN HIM. I AM HOPING TO SEE HIM AGAIN..LIKE ON THE DAY OF SURGERY!!!!!
First Impression of Dr. Guske and the Kane Center were very positive. He has a very good bedside manner and is easy to talk to. I did alot of research prior to seening Dr. Guske so I knew I wanted to have the Gastric Bypass Surgery. The only negative thing I can say about him, is that he didn't really give me any other options, just agreed with what I wanted. But then again, maybe it was the best route he felt as well. The Kane Center truly requires individuals to come back 1 week, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, then every 3 months for 1 year, then yearly for aftercare. They provide support groups on Saturdays with their psychologist and also provide a Healthy Lifestyle Class anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 weeks post op. The office staff was very friendly and informative. There was only 1 receptionist who was alittle on the rough side, but once I found that out I just tried to avoid her. I wanted only positive around me during this journey. The Kane Center has been around for over 40 years and Kane, Sr, now retired has trained all of his surgeons and I believe that both surgical competence and bedside manner are very important at least to me. Overall I would rate Dr. Guske as a 9.5 out of 10. All of the staff and other doctors are wonderful at the Kane Center.
Dr. Kane seems very knowledgeable and comitted to the process. He is kind and very calming. He answerd all my questions. BEST of all, He took excellent care of my husband when he had surgery!rnrnThe actual doctor's/surgical office staff is very nice, efficient, and helpful. Wait times, are not too bad. Nice, clean office-lots to read while you wait. Very professional.rnrnThe Kane Center staff is a little different. I did NOT like the way I was treated there when I went for the psycological eval. They were VERY rude and argumentative. They INSISTED that I had to use their psych Dr. and not one that was in-network for my plan. That resulted in a high out of network deductible for both my husband and I! ($950.00)rnrnAfter care seems good. They have support groups every weekend. It is real comforting to be around others going through the same thing.rnI have not had surgery yet, will be able to update afterwards.rnrnWell it is the afterwards folks! I am doing well. BIG thanks to Dr. Kane and Dr. Guske and ALL the staff at the hospital. Things went well and I am on the mend.rnrnI would DEFINITELY reccomend Dr. Kane!
