When I first met Dr. Wallace at the information session, I felt like I already trusted him. After the information session, I signed up for an initial consultation with the Kane Center, and they assigned Dr. Wallace to me.rnrnI went to see him for the initial consultation and he spent alot of time explaining all about the surgery and my options.rnrnI started on my journey to get approved by my insurance company ( what a nightmare!) and his staff has been bending over backwards to help me get this approved.rnrnHis staff is very professional and always willing to help. They are kind, and respectful and listen to what you have to say. I wish I could say that for all of the healthcare professionals I have dealt with lately.rnrnI was just released today from ALexian Brothers hospital for a gallbladder removal that Dr. Wallace took out. I was having many issues and my primary care physician and his staff were blowing me off and not willing tohelp alleviate my pain. I called Dr. Wallace and he called the insurance company and tried to get them to let him do the bypass surgery and the gallbladder surgery at the same time. He worked so hard, and yet my ins company still said, NO. They said to take out the gallbladder and then do the bypass becasue they did not want to expedite the approval of the bypass.rnrnThe presurgical care has been awesome and their after care program is great too. I feel I am more than ready for this surgery and to start my new life.rnrnHaving been in the hospital these past few days, I have had a chance to meet Dr.Kane, Dr. Guske and of course have seen Dr. Wallace. They all have been great, spent time with me at the bedside and answered all of my questions.rnrnI have no doubt that in a few weeks when I have the bypass done, that everything will go fine under their excellant care.

I had lap band surgery on 4/14/08. Dr. Rantis was my surgeon and he took excellent care of me. He was concerned about my post-op pain management because of being on pain meds for a herniated disc in my lower back and other related problems, and I appreciated that he was very detailed in my pre-op testing. On surgery day, he came into the prep room and met my husband, and after the surgery was over, came out into the waiting room and let my husband know exactly how it went. The offices of the Kane Center/Suburban Surgical tend to be very busy but I imagine that's a good thing. I ultimately ended up opting for self pay and had a surgery date within a couple of weeks. rnPost op, all my appointments have been pleasant and Dr. Rantis and I seem to have a good rapport. I would recommend him for his professionalism and attention to detail.

Dr Rantis was awesome and very supportive. That was my first impression and also the one I had over time. His office staff is very nice and the insurance girls work so hard to make sure that ppl get approved. The thing I like least is that I usually have to wait an hour or 2 to be seen. I am not sure if he is overbooked but now I make sure I bring a book and get some quality reading time in. He isn't real strong on aftercare so I am glad I am on the boards so I know what I need to do from other ppl. The surgery group has aftercare groupl but the times are hard for me to get to.I had researched a lot so we didn't spend a lot of time on the risks. He felt so bad about how my stomach was bruised. He was worried cuz I am a nurse that I would be a pain but he said I was a very good patient. I would rate him an 8 out 10 and both bedside manner and competence are great.

What a guy! He is comming in to do my sugery during his vacation so I can get this done before Jan 1st as I have met my out of pocket for the year. If he didn't I would have had to dish out $3k out of pocket if we waited until Jan.

My first impression of Dr. Rantis is that he was very knowledgeable regarding WLS. He is part of a group of surgeons dedicated to helping people regain their health and lives. I have grown to respect him even more as this year as gone by. He has a very good bedside manner and is very genuine in his feelings toward his patients. He addressed all the risks associated with the various WLS. I have recommended him to my sister-in-law, who has decided to have lap band, and I would recommend him to everyone!

I first met Dr. Wallace at a seminar that he presented through the Kane Center, and later had an appointment with him in the office. I was a little concerned that he was the junior member of the practice. However, I was impressed by his knowledge, training and experience as well as his patience in answering my questions. I was familiar with the surgeons he performed his fellowship with at Northwestern University, so knew he had good training. So far, working with the other team members at the Kane Center has been OK.

My very first impression of Dr. Guske was from one of his patients that had the surgery one year ago will good results, when I met him I found him to have a pleasant demeanor (sense of humor/approachable) and a careful surgeon.rn
