I was suprised at how young Dr Gupta seemed. It only took a moment for me to realize how educated she was though. She not only has an interest in her practice but she has an interest in finding out more about obesity itself. I also love the fact that she is very upfront. She shares the possible complications right away and makes it very clear that surgery is not an easy way out. Making the decision to have the surgery is a life long decision and if you give up at any point you will be right back to obese. You will never eat the same again. Never is a long time and she makes you think about it. She is also straight forward in making sure you understand everything about the surgery pre op and post op. I left the consult getting more information than I had even thought about. I honestly feel like I have considered every aspect of the surgery and I am ready to go ahead with it. I am just waiting for my psychologist appointment that my insurance requires for pre approval.

When I first met Dr. Gupta a few years ago (She removed my Gall Bladder) I was happy with her, but not with the hospital at all. (Carmel St.V) But, I guess they are done renovating the hospital now, so hopefully things won't be so crazy. My husband couldn't find a cup of coffee anywhere in that place.

But, when considering WLS, I turned back to her office and her skills. I had NO complications from my gall bladder removal and her office people were very nice.

I met with her one on one after the seminar and she remembered me, which made me feel nice. She is direct, honest, and I think she really cares about her patients. She didn't blow any smoke when I asked her about any of her past patients that have had complications. Honesty is very important to me.

She uses Binders after surgery (A HUGE PLUS FOR ME!!!) They were live savers after my C-Sections.. If your surgeon will let you... USE THEM!! They help with recovery like you wouldn't believe!! I was up walking at walmart 5 days after my last C-section.

She is great... fun, down to earth and a hard working surgeon :)

Good at what she does. Not very personable. Good office staff. After care is very important and structured. Risks are identified clearly. I would rate her 4 out of 5. Surgical competence is very important. More bedside manner would be great. However, hospital staff more than makes up for it.

Dr. Gupta seems to be very knowledgeable, professional, and sympathetic.
I am currently waiting for insurance approval before having surgery.

Dr Gupta seems really nice, was a little scared because she seems so young, but someone I know had a lot of complications from a surgery performed by a different doctor and Dr. Gupta was the one who did all her repairs. And help nuture her back to life.Consultation was what I expected from all my internet research. but I was still glad to hear her version of what to expect.

My first impression of Dr. Gupta was that she is very knowledgeable. Her office staff is very professional, but needs to work on being more personable. Dr. Gupta expects you to follow the plan that is given to you before and after surgery.

During the group consultation, Dr. Gupta discussed everything associated with the surgery, including the risks.

I would recommend Dr. Gupta to anyone looking into have WLS.

Dr. Jones was very nice and very informative.Actually I went to the consult not wanting to have the more popular RNY. I wanted to have the Lap band. After my husband and I talked to her, we were convinced that the RNY was going to be better surgery for me. I am glad she does it laproscopic. I will have hardly any scaring because her incisions are so small!!!! I researched lots of Dr's, and I feel Dr. Jones is the best in Indy!! I am very excited at this new chance of life!!

Well I have changed surgeons. I am having Dr.Gupta now. She is in the same office as Dr. Jones. From what i have heard she is good also. I will meet her before my surgery.

8/26/04 - Christine Gupta was very warm & friendly. She explained all of the pros and cons of surgery. No one else had a consult that evening, so I had her all to myself. I cherished every minute that I had with her with the one on one.
The office staff was very nice. They took exta time with me because I have an exclusion in my insurance policy. They gave me plenty of options so I did not give up hope.
Dr. Gupta emphasis aftercare as a very important part of the program. She said she is giving me a tool to loose weight & I must use it wisely; otherwise it will not work for me.

Dr. Gupta is great. Calm, friendly, compassionate. My impression has not changed throughout the process. The office staff is kind of hit and miss with the helpfulness and aren't always good at returning calls. In their defense they are very busy and I am sure keeping up with all the requests is difficult.

This was the best thing that ever happened to me!

I have been very happy with my time spent with Dr. Gupta so far. I have only attended her pre-op class and a one-on-one with her, but I am very impressed to this point. I have also had contact with Heather in the scheduling department and she has been a joy to work with. Her support has only added to my excitement!
