My first impression of Dr. Dunshee what that I thought he looked very young, but he was very kind and answered every questions that I had. I think he was a great surgeon. I have actually met with his PA Robert more than Dr. Dunshee, and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Robert. He is fantastic. I think the entire staff at Tallgrass does a great job, and I would recommend them to anyone.
My first impression was at the first meeting at the hospital to learn more about the process she was very polite and quiet. I guest that was because where we were.rn02-28-09 I have ben seeing her off and on for a long time now. I have regained back some of my weight I hope she can help me start to lose again..
I felt like I was in good hands. He reminds me of my cousin. However, the impression I had was he took his time to answer all of my questions, I didn't feel rushed, and felt he cared.rnrnI am going for my first post op visit in the am so will see about his aftercare. rnrnOverall am very please with Dr. Dunshee.
they staff at Tallgrass was and is the best medical staff I have ever met in my 41 yrs of life. Yeah I had a little bit of problem after surgery but in no way at all was it their fault. People ask me all the time if I would do it again and I tell them in a flash without a shaddow of doubt in my mind and heart that I would do it again if I could get the same staff that I had . They are the best , most professional friendly team ever and I thank God that He led me to them. He (GOD) did an awesome job to stir me in the right direction as He alwasy does.rnrnThey (Rachell) called me all the time to check on me and if I ever needed anything all I had to do was call Rachell and she would say let me check with the doc and I will call you right back, and she was true to her word, she always called me back and it took her no longer then 10- 15 minutes tops to be calling me back.rnrnon a scale of 0 -10 , I rate the team 100 because they are that good and yes I meant to put 100 NOT 10.
Dr.Dunshee is SUPER! You can tell he really cares about his patients. The staff has always been super helpful. This is my second attempt for WLS, I look forward to meeting with him again. I can appreciate his emphasis on pre-operative education and support. Between the required seminar prior to setting up your consult and the thorough office examination, he left me with NO unanswered questions.
Dr Hamilton is wonderful. He is a very friendly, and professional. It was reassuring to have such a skilled surgeon taking care of me, and I am confident if any problems should arise...he can certainly handle it. That is of great comfort when one has a major surgery. His office staff is kind, and though a little unorganized at times....I think overall my experience has been positive. Like with anything else....it is necessary to ask questions, and stay on top of your care. I think Tallgrass is a great place to have WLS, and I do feel they strive for excellence. My hospital experience was average......the nurses were mostly good, although pain control could have been better. Typical staffing issue....not enough nurses to handle the number of patients. Surgical staff was great....organized....helpful, and reassuring. Love them....in closing....Dr. Hamilton is wonderful....Tallgrass is a great place to begin the WLS journey.....St Francis hospital is good....surgical staff great.....nurses on 5th floor....average. Good luck everyone!
Dr. Hamilton is a nice guy. He has had gastric bypass himself, so I was a little worried he would be bias toward that surgery type. However, he truly didn't say that much about it. When you talk to him, he does always seem rushed. If you don't have your questions written down and ready to go you won't get to ask them. rnrnHe was my husbands surgeon as well, and he canceled his surgery a few weeks in advance. This scared me for my own. However, when he did do his surgery he did a great job. My husband has little tiny scars and very little pain. He doesn't go to talk to the patients after surgery, but he does talk to their family. He asks to see his patients often. At one week post op, then again at 6 weeks. rnrnI didn't see him at all after my surgery, but I did give my husband a list of questions to ask him afterward. He went down the list and answered every one of them.
