From the first time I talked to Dr. Faulkenberry he was positive. I had some problems with another doctor in Houston and was feeling that no one would do the surgery. I saw Dr. F. at the overview for SW Bariatrics and he said he thought he could help me.

Some members of my WLS group were a little leary because the SW Bariatrics group is so new and have not done many RNY surgeries. However, I think they will do a good job because they may be new to the RNY but they have all been surgeons for many years.

So far I like Dr. F and his office staff. The only complaint I have is that it took about a month for them to file the insurance request even after I talked to them several times and supplied them with alot of information.

Excellent surgeon. Used her for other surgery before Lap Band. She is quite busy. I would say she is conservative and expects patient compliance with the Lap Band program. She is part of the Southwest Bariatric Group in Round Rock and Austin, Texas. This is the only group in the area doing Lap Band obesity surgery. There is a month support group that meets in Austin for Lap Band patients or those interested. Dr. Marquez is very competent and up-front.

Dr. Steven Fass gave me a great first impression and it hasn't changed. He's a very warm, caring doctor and has a great bedside manner. His entire staff is excellent and I would recommend him to anyone. I feel totally at ease with him and he never makes me feel like my questions are silly or that he doesn't have time for me.

The thing I like best about him is that is is willing to listen to anything I have to say.

Dr. Fass is a big believer in the patient taking an active role in their own progress. He supports and participates in the monthly support group meetings at St. David's Hospital in Austin.

He did a great job of addressing our concerns and laid out all the risks of surgery beforehand so we knew what we were getting ourselves in to.

I felt he was well qualified. He was involved in the FDA trials out in LA before the Lap Band™ was approved here in the US. He even assisted in Sharon Osborne's Lap Band surgery!

His entire staff seems to take a genuine interest in all their patients and their progress.
