I met with Dr. Clayton on Feb 22, 2001. She is a kind, gentle person who really likes what she is doing. I believe she wants to help all people who carry the burden of excess weight and never once did I get the feeling she made judgements about me.
She spent an hour with me explaining the surgery and making sure I understood exactly what I was taking on.
She has a very structured aftercare program which I feel will be a life long benefit for me.
I was asked to take a written test when I arrived at the office which covered just how much I knew or didn't know about the surgery.
When I left her office I felt that we had covered all aspects of the surgery and I had a full understanding.
I also emailed several of her patients prior to the consultation and received wonderful responses.

Dr. Clayton is a wonderful lady. She does not have any of the "air" that some surgeons have and she does not mind at all answering the same questions over and over. I was worried about the procedure, but she laid all worries to rest and informed me of how the procedure is done, what to expect and showed me genuine concern for all my doubts.

Dr.Clayton is a gentle lady surgeon.She was friendly with myself and my husband.My impression has not changed about her. I think she is a very quailified, caring surgeon.Office staff very friendly and also caring about patients.Nothing negative to say about Dr. Clayton.She is a very knowledgable surgeon.We live 4 hour drive away and has confidence in my primary doctor for my aftercare. She has always been available for my phone calls and has always given me a reply.Being connected with Spectrim, she directs a very extensive follow up nutrtion program, stressing protein shakes.Told me upfront the complications of surgery and works very close with Spectrim.My rating forDr. Clayton would be excellent.Surical competence-excellent.

I HAVE A PERSONAL HISTORY WHEN I MEET HER I THOUGHT SHE DOESNOT LOOK LIKE SURGEON . BUT WHEN SHE WAS TALKING THRU OUR INTERVIEW I WAS SO PLEASE,IN THE WAY SHE EXPLAINED THE PROCEDURE, RISKS, COMPLICATIONS AND THE LONG TERM MAINTNANCE IN THE SAME DAY I KNEW SHE WILL BE MY SURGEON.
I WORK IN A SURGERY CENTER AND MY DOCTOR SEARCH FOR MANY SURGEONS THE HE WAS TOLD WERE PERFORMING THIS TYPE OF PROCEDURE, ABOUT TWO WEEKS AFTER THAT HE COME TO ME ONE MORNING AND SAID , MARCY STAY WITH YOUR DOCTOR I RECEIVED VERY HIGHLY RECOMENDATIONS ABOUT DR S. CLAYTON MD. PROCEDURE, CARE ETC.
AND I REPLY TO MY BOSS SINCE DAY ONE I CHOOSE DR S. CLAYTON MD. AND WILL NEVER CHANGED MY MIND. I AM SCHEDULE FOR SURGERY ON 11/17/00.

Dr Clayton was great! I spent the first 3 months after surgery in IN, but Dr Clayton was great about returning my phone calls. She is naturally quite, but will answer any questions you ask. The Spectrim staff was wonderful about returning my phone calls and answering all my questions. I was approved for surgery in March and could have had surgery in April. I chose May because of my schedule, not the Dr's. How great is that? Spectrim has wonderful aftercare. The support group is my lifeline and keeps me grounded. it's so nice to go through this life changing opperation with others.

Dr. Clayton is very professional yet friendly. I get the feeling of competence...which is exactly the kind of feeling I want to have! I have a dear friend who went through her as well, and is very happy with the level of care she has received! Donna, Dr. Clayton's assistant in the office is thorough and follows through on your requests. Nicole, at SurgiSLIM at St. Luke Medical Center in Pasadena, CA is adorable.....having been through the procedure there at this medical center....she has alot to offer the novice!
Dr. Clayton has a very conservative eating program for the first two months aftwerwards, and I feel very comfy about that. She also has a 26-week support group and I ddefinitely plan to avail myself of this opportunity. I want to maximize my health and well-being....physically as well as emotionally. The "Psych Eval" was a breeze....please don't worry about that! They just want to make sure that you have the understanding of the surgery and what changes it will bring to your life as well as knowing some of your background! So far, I am very pleased with the care.......I will update after the surgery date! Best of luck with you all!

Dr. Clayton is very friendly and straight forward with answers to your questions. She did a great job closing the incision with a little plastic surgery. All of her office staff are very friendly and efficient.

6/26/00 i met dr.clayton today for the first time and i was very pleased with her she tells you every thing up front and i know that i made the right choice in choosing her to be my surgeon.her staff was very prompt and very nice they helped me as soon as i walked in, they talk to you and treat you like your special.

I first met Dr. Clayton a week and a half prior to my WLS. She was very personable and friendly. Her staff was equally friendly and helpful. Dr. Clayton discussed the surgery, and was open to any and all questions. She also made me well aware of the risks of surgery, but I felt confident and not afraid. Overall, since surgery I am very pleased with Dr. Clayton. My suture line looks great so far and I'm just 9 days post. In the hospital Dr. Clayton did come to see me almost everyday and was very brief. She didn't have to answer a lot of questions as I was feeling very well with no complications.

I rate her very highly and would have her do my surgery over again.

Dr Clayton is phenominal. She first appeared a little shy but was very warm and friendly on our second meeting.
Her office staff have been efficient nad courteous.
I have no complaints about her. The thing that I like tthe most is that she actually returns your calls and in a timely matter.
After care is very important. The Spectrim program has a detailed regimen and excellent support.
Dr Clayton not only discusses the risks of surgery, she gives you a test to ensure you UNDERSTAND the risks.
I rate her as excellent in all aspects of her competancy.
