Dr. Provost is "a surgeon". By that I mean he didn't have the best "bedside" manner by my observation. I found him to be an excellent surgeon, but I was not impressed with his compassion or support of extenuating circumstances. I did have the opportunity to confront him with my concerns when I went for my 9 month follow-up visit. He didn't realize how he had been to me and was very warm and appologized for his failure to be sympathetic to my special needs. As a surgeon, he is outstanding. I think with a little work, he will develop the compassionate bedside manner as well. Certainly, I feel that his competence as a surgeon is the most important component of his roll in my weight loss. Another thing that concerned me was that he didn't require psychological evaluation (beyond those psychological related questions on his application form). I feel that this surgery needs to be combined with psychological treatment as an essential component of the entire weight loss package. I recommend Dr. Provost as an outstanding surgeon. Please note that any negitive comments I may have made are representing my personal experience with Dr. Provost and in no way are meant to indicate what someone else may experience with him. Once again, I would recommend him to anyone planning to have weight loss surgery, as he is top notch in the field of Bariatric Surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Provost was that he's very smart and busy. Our meeting didn't last long however you got the feeling that he knew what he was doing. His staff was okay I thought it was a thing to meet the staff. Michele,David, and Lois. Once you leave your info for the insurance stay on them to make sure things were submitted.

He is wonderful! Great bed side manner, and he is very caring. His staff and is very upbeat and has always been there to answer any questions I might have. There really wasn't anything I didn't like about him. He and his staff went out of their way to assist in any way possible. You do have a aftercare program and support group to take atvantage of. At the beginning they do go everything you would wnt to know about possible problems or just what you will experience.

Dr. Provost is very nice and I feel is an exceptional professional. His office staff is adequate. I have only had face-to-face contact with them once so we sill see.

I am 6 weeks post-op and really haven't seen him that much. I usually see Dr. Provost's physicians assistant, Diane. She is very nice. She really seems to know what is going on and I have always felt she really tries to get to the bottom of things.

I am not that thrilled with the office staff. The are a bit rude and not very friendly.

I have met Dr.Rodriguez twice now and he seemed like a very caring man.. The main thing about him is he is very direct and up front with you and what is expected of you...And the out come of the surgery..He will answer any question no matter how small.
I am looking forward to him doing the surgery
His staff is great as well...And what can I say about Paulette....She lets you know the hard facts as well....

Dr. Provost is a very gifted doctor and he did an excellent job with my LAP RNY...however...the staff in his office is less than desirable. From the rude receptionist, to David the insurance guy who enjoys telling people they are denied, to Lois the nurse who has not returned any of my calls. I tried to email her and it took her a week to respond. The bright side of the office is Michelle, the nutritionist. She called me and gave me excellent advice when I was having problems keeping food down. She said to call her back if I had any problems. I would not recommend Dr. Provost to anyone simply because of his staff.

Very good first impression from the orientation meeting last July.

When I met and spoke to Dr. Rodriguez and found out he was a Naval flight surgeon, a family man, and a spiritual person (prayer on desk), I felt even more comfortable.
Paulette and other staff are great..very helpful.

He cares; it's not just a job to him.

It is part of the package..to commit to one year of caring for yourself.

Support groups are run by Psychologists. Attended one so far.
Very straight-forward about risks.
So far I rate him as excellent.
Preferably you have both. But if you can have only one, Surgical Competence.

Dr.Provost is a good doctor. He told me what I needed to know about the surgery and answered my questions. His staff is friendly and efficient. Dr.Provost expects his patients to follow the diet he has provided so that you will lose all of your weight. His PA was very informative as well.
He is a very competent surgeon and I would rate him as a 9.

Ok Dr Provost was very, very friendly, calm and realistic. The staff was great kudos to Lois. I had to resch my 1st appoint. because the dr had emergency surgery. what struck me was every person that I came in contact with in the office apologized and thanked me for coming back. I though that was really nice. It was no bid deal heck I would like to think if I had an emergency the doctor would be there for me too.

Dr Davidson seems very knowledgeable not very talkative.
His staff was great Chris is very helpful and friendly. They have a very strict aftercare program. He did address the risks of surgery I will give him a rating after surgery.

Dr Provost had done the surgery for several of my co-workers and I went to see him on their recommendation. He is very direct and down to business. He tells you exactly what to expect. The first visit he went over the entire procedure asked a lot of questions about my health and answered any questions of mine. He is really a very funny man and gets embarrassed easily, very easily.
His nurse Lois is very sweet and kind, always has a big hug for you and a smile. He has added additional staff since my surgery and I have not had the pleasure of having to work with them. Michelle is the dietician and David handles the insurance. There are a couple of new Drs as well, which I have seen at the support meetings but never actually met.
Some people have commented that Dr Provost doesnt really make eye contact but I did not find that to be the case. The lead time on getting an appointment to see him is quite lengthy but they do have frequent cancellations and you do get moved up in the que fairly easily. My original appointment had been scheduled for November but was moved up to August and it was only because of some difficulties with the insurance company that my surgery was delayed until November 29th.
Dr Provost says he will follow you the rest of your life. He has an excellent aftercare program with bi-monthly support meetings, a Yahoo group on line, and a dietician for afterwards. One of my co-workers was having problems with weight gain and he scheduled her for counseling with the dietician to help with her meal planning to help her manage to get those pounds back off. They mailed papers on eating hints, pouch guidelines, and other helpful information to my home in between appointments.
Dr Provost doesnt sugar coat anything. He is honest, and direct. He tells you that you can die from the surgery, that there may be healing issues, complications that require extended time in the hospital, that your hair may fallout etc...He tells his complication rate up front.
Dr Provost is a very caring man, geniunely concerned for us and takes as much time as you need to go over your questions and concerns. He makes himself available at the support meetings for anything you wish to address either before the group or after. He will respond to questions on the phone or via email and he does monitor his Yahoo group and respond to questions there.
He used to be a Trauma surgeon at Parkland Hospital which is a Level One Trauma Center in Dallas. He works on Folks no-one else is willing to help. Several of my friends used to be in excess of 600Lbs and are now walking around happy and healthy at less than half their former size because of Dr Provost.
