Baylor Scott & White Weight Loss Surgery Program Bariatric Center
My surgeon was the best! He was excellent...my first impression was that he was in a bit of a hurry to get through the initial consultation...but he answered every question. I love him...he really cares for the health of his patients...and he is there if you need him. If you need a gb surgeon in the Dallas area...he is the one!
I saw Dr. Provost on January 5, 2007 and I thought he was very nice. He spent time with me answering the few questions I had. Everyone in the office was very nice and helpful through the initial consultation process. He told me I would need to see him about once a month for the first 2 years, so I know he is all about aftercare. I really like that since I'm an RN. He was just great! I will update after I see him again.

He was very professional, forward and straight to the point. He explained the procedure, told me the risks and asked if I had any concerns or questions. He puts emphasis on your care after the surgery. All of my visits after the surgery are free. I don't have to make my copays until after a year. This is his way of encouraging his patients to come for their visits..........EXCELLENT
First consult was very informative, He lets you know all the risks involved, He is also very \"to-the-point\", and professional. I am quite happy that he will be my surgeon. I have also talked with Albert about what was needed in my psych eval. letter. He always got back to me very timely. I went on MyChart the other day to update my new meds, new PC Dr, and new diagnosis. I did this by email sending Dr. Provast office my info. Lois got back to me in about an hour. Which I thought has extremely great time. Technology is wonderful, I advice any ppl going through UTsouthwestern to use their My Chart. It probally helps out the Dr.s and nurses also so they have record. Right now I would recommend Dr.provost and his staff to anyone considering WLS I think they are all great. Waiting for surgery date will post more then.
Dr. Provost and Staff were great. Every step of the initial visit was well laid out. I met with Dr. Provost, the nutritionist, the finance person and the nurse. My process started September 9 and surgery has been schedules for November 8. I was told what the office would need as far as Medical records/letters from my Cardiologist.
I was very impressed with my first visit with Dr. David Provost. He sat with me and my husband and very patiently answered any questions we had at that time. He was great the day of the sugery and at the post-op visit. I am very happy to have found him. His Fellow Dr. Chris Bell was wonderful as well. I have had more dealings with Dr. Bell and don't mind at all. He was a little more personal in his conversations with me and my family. I am very impressed with the "workings" over ther at UTSW. They addressed all my concerns and let me know of all the risks. I would rate both Provost and Bell a big FAT 10!
I finally met Dr. Rodriguez after a couple of visits with the nurse practioner and going to 2 seminars and support meetings. Dr. Rodriguez is very busy but very friendly. He will answer all of your questions and concerns without making you feel foolish for asking them. I know he could tell that I did not like being examined and being looked at so he was very nice about it. He was honest about the complications and risks. He knew that I heard the "obese" and how unhealthy it is to be obese a hundred times so he just spoke about the surgery and history. He is very easy to talk to if you have many concerns. I am confident in him and his skills as a surgeon to perform this operation on me. :)
Very skilled with bariatric surgery! I highly recommend him!
Dr. Provost is very nice and so is his fellow, Dr. Bell. I filled out the big initial packet and sent it in and was called back about 3 weeks later and Lois gave me an initial appointment - it was set for about 2 months later. When I went in for my very first appointment, Dr. Provost talked to me for about 15 minutes and agreed to do the surgery. I couldn't believe it was that easy! That was on November 15th, 2005 and I had the surgery on December 22nd, 2005. I was self-pay, so I'm sure that helped speed up the process. I had my surgery at Parkland and it was a great experience. The nurses were wonderful and very attentive. I had an excellent anesthiologist who is actually published in the area of bariatric anesthiology. Everyone I talk to says that Dr. Provost is the best and I agree! The only annoying thing was that Lois is almost impossible to get a hold of - I probably left 8 messages for her in the month before my surgery, and never got 1 call back. But other than that, I've been pleased with all my patient care.
