Royal Oak Surgical Assoc. Bariatric Center
I felt very confident in his surgical skills. I still feel this way. He has done over 500 cases, with very few complications. The office is nice, punctual and the staff helpful.
The after care seems wonderful, encouraged to follow. The dieticians, nurse clinician (Michelle High), internist and support group. I think this is all great.
I think that he is a skilled, compassionate surgean and would highly recommend him to anyone condsidering the surgery,
I have had a very positive experience overall with Dr. Krause. He was friendly and straight forward. He went over the benefits and the risks with the surgery and made sure that I knew what to expect from the surgery.
The office staff seem very overworked, but are helpful when you call. I really have no complaints about my experience.
He is as good as it gets! 10out of 10! Benchmark surgeon.
DR. KRAUSE SAVED MY LIFE....PERIOD!!!!
HE WAS VERY RELUCTANT TO DO THE SURGERY DUE TO NY SIZE(>510#) AND GENERAL MEDICAL CONDITIONS.
(CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE, COPD, PULMANARY EMBOLISMS, DIABETES,HYPRTENSION,ETC, ETC.)
DR. DINNESH SHAH (CARDIOLOGIST) CONVINCED HIM TO OPERATE ON ME AFTER HAVING BEEN TURNED DOWN BY "BARIATRIC TREATMENT CENTERS"
DR. KRAUSE GAVE ME SOME CONDITIONS BEFORE HE WOULD AGREE TO DO THE SURGERY.....LOOSE 7O+ POUNDS, AND GET A VENA CAVA FILTER INSTALLED.
ONCE I REACHED THE GOALS, HE DID THE SURGERY IMMEDIAETLY.
I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT DR, KRAUSE, HIS STAFF AND THE PEOPLE THAT HE SURROUNDS HIMSELF WITH AT BEAUMONT. I HEAR HE STILL TALKS ABOUT ME WITH OTHER DOCS, BECAUSE I WAS SUCH A CHALLANGE....BUT THANK GOD HE TOOK THE CHALLANGE,,,AND GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS THIS GREAT SURGEON.
Had my first consult with Dr. Krause. What a nice man! He seems genuinely interested in helping and I got a good feeling from him, despite the fact that I haven't been scheduled for surgery, yet, thanks to good old BCBS. His office staff was very friendly and helpful, too. The handout Dr. Krause gave me was very clear and concise and helped me to explain to family and friends exactly what I plan to have done. The benefits and risks are clearly outlined and I can refer to the info whenever I need a reminder. I have heard that Dr. Krause is the best and that was from other medical professionals. I'm looking forward to dealing with him in the future!
Dr. Krause was exactly as many others described him on this site. He was kind and patient. We initially were seen in a group of 4 patients with our family/friends. He made it known that we had all the time we needed to answer all questions, that there was no rush. He then met with each person individually, giving you a chance to address any issues in a more private setting. He was very good about explaining the surgical procedure in detail as well as any complications. Dr. Krause insists that you have your pre and post care done at either Northpointe or Beaumont Weight Loss Center. They stress the need for good aftercare and have programs in place to address all needs. Beaumont has a preop meeting for bariatric surgery patients with Michelle High, a nurse practioner who was also a patient. Michelle goes through the entire hospital experience, explaining exactly what to expect. She also touches on some of the dietary issues after surgery, although this is mostly left to the dieticians that you meet with in your bfore and aftercare program.
Everyone said Dr. K was wonderful, and I agree he is pleasant. I did feel rushed, though. And I had to wait FOREVER to get a consult, then another 2 months until surgery. But it was worth it; he seems extremely competent and I am having absolutely NO post-op complications whatsoever.
Office staff are pleasant and efficient. I did have a problem with them getting the necessary paperwork to the TPA that handles short-term disability claims for my employer. They had five days to submit the paperwork. They submitted it wrong and then I was in this situation where Dr. K's office said they submitted the "normal" info, but the TPA called me a said it wasn't enough info, so I was the middleman. Fortunately my boss took my side and coded my time as STD, otherwise I wouldn't have received a paycheck yesterday. The info was finally sent to the TPA on the 21st, and it was due to them by the 14th. This was not good. Dr. K has done hundreds of these surgeries, and that is what was important to me. All/most aftercare is handled by a separate facility, the Northpointe Health Center.
Dr Krause is young or appears to be. He wants you to be well informed. I have met him several times. One of those times was after he had operated on my older sister.I didn't realize it but it has already been about fourteen weeks sense she had her surgery. She is doing great. She has energy now to do things she hasn't been able to do for a long time. She said she feels better than she has in three years. On Feb.20th he is going to do the RNY on my younger sister and myself. I feel I have the best chance because of my decision to have Dr Krause do my surgery. I felt that way from the first time I met him. His office staff is kind of hard to take at first, but it was him that made me know I made the right choice.
Dr. Krause is very kind and seems very capable in his field. His stats are good and his teaching about the surgery, including risks and benefits, is thorough. He is everything that I was expecting, based on what I had read about him through this site. I feel blessed by the Lord to have found him.
