Dr. Bright was a sweetie, he looked so young, but was truly sincere. I still feel the same about him, he is just as excited about the surgery and the results as I am. I would recomend him to anyone, infact I have.
Dr. Bright was very upfront about the risks of surgery, he let you know that there could be complications. He did not let you go into surgery blind. He didn't down-play the risks.
Dr. Bright has a very strick after care program. You are assigned a nutritionists and you meet w/her the same day you meet with him. There is a eating plan for the 1st 2 wks and then one for the next 8wks and then one for the next 6 months ad then for the future. He also had a doctor visit plan, 2 wks, 3 mnths, 6 mnths, 1 yr, and so on. He really cares about you and monitors your progress carefully.
His surgical competence was apparently great, since I am alive and healthy. His bedside mannor is exemplory, he never leaves without you feeling he was 100% focused on you.
My impression of Dr Bright is that he is well informed and well educated. Having lived in the Spokane area for many years, I have had a lot of contact with the medical group he is with and all the staff were very nice.My impression has not changed since first meeting him, I still think he is very intelligient regarding Gastric By-pass. He is very to the point on everything regarding before and after surgery issues. There is an onsite nutritionist. I would recommend any of the surgeons in the surgical group, especially if they are like Dr. Bright.
Dr Bright was wonderful. He was always there when ever i needed anything. And he didnt look dow on me for my weight at all.
I first met Dr. Bright in April of this year (2004) for my initial consultation. He was very informative and very willing to spend the time with me to be sure that I understood the procedure and what it would mean in the terms of lifestyle changes. My first impression was that he seemed really young. My second impression was that he is really knowledgeable. He answered all my questions as well as questions from my family.
I have never met Dr. Bright, but I did have the opportunity to listen to Dr. Rawlins at our support group. I think these two physicians really have their thumb on the pulse of WLS and its trends. They are ultra conservative in their post-op care. They are genuinely concerned for their patients and truly want to see success. I wish I could have been a patient of theirs. I think if anyone is considering this surgery, that their practice is the premier practice in the region! Highly skilled and VERY knowledgeable.
Dr. Spitz performed emergency surgery on me earlier in the year and when I found out he also did WLS I knew he would be the one for me. He is very nice and anyone I talked to about him said that he was very good. I did not have a choice with my emergency surgery, but I feel I lucked out by having him do my surgery. His staff is very busy, but they always returned my calls. I do not have any negative comments about Dr. Spitz or his staff. He is very laid back and easy to talk to. He is very serious about aftercare and the program that is in place seems to cover all the bases. He covered all the risks regarding WLS very well and I feel that I have all the knowledge I need to make a very informed decision. Even though I have not had WLS yet, I did have emergency surgery and I give him a 10! I will update after my WLS.
