Peachtree Surgical and Bariatrics Bariatric Center
I only saw Dr. Duncan at the seminar so far, but he was humorous, and seemed knowledgable.
Even though he did not speak much about the lapband procedure, i have confidence in him because i have done extensive research on him.
I was told by Dr. Fields, that if i have the lapband surgery, Dr. Duncan will definetly be the one who will do it,because only he (not his partners) actually does the lapband procedure.
That in itself makes me feel good, because i was told that Dr. Duncan is the best bariactric surgeon in Atlanta!!!!!!!!!!
I GUESS WE WILL SEE :)
I am looking forward to meeting Dr. Duncan one on one, because there are questions that i would like to ask and i do not want to wait until surgery day to do so.
I did my consult with Dr. Fields and she seemed nice and showed compassion and that was a huge plus in my book.
Stephanie (the nurse),was very nice as well and gave me a since of belonging, because this was my 1st visit. She also has a great sense of humor :)
I saved the best for last---Yakema.
She is a very sweet and supportive person, and i do appreciate her just being there for me so that i could vent.
She is a real asset to Peachtree, and has helped to keep me grounded.
I have not had the pleasure of meeting her in person yet, but i look forward to meeting with her---to give her a hug in the near future.
I know, this is suppose to be about the surgeon but i have not formally met him yet,
therefore i will address my views of the staff that have left a positive impression on me thusfar.
My first Impression of Dr.Duncan was that he was very Professional and had a very good sence of humor. The staff was also great. He and his staff really want you to make sure that you know what all go's into having this surgery and want's to make sure that you are really dedicated to all that he require's before and after surgery.I would tell anyone that's thinking of having this surgery to go to Peachtree Surgical because they are AWESOME!!!
I have not met with Dr.Duncan yet but have met with Dr.Feild also in his off. She was very helpful and answer all my question and specific on what I had to do to get the approval through insurance. What type of test and doctors I had to see prior. They were all very kind and courteous. I really like the fact he has a seperate department help us gather and submit all the insurance requirements.
Although I have not personally met Dr.Duncan I do have friends that have used him as their surgeon and they speak really highly of him. He has a excellent reputation here in Atlanta. He did speak at the orientation seminar and covered a lot of information.
Dr. Duncan, seems to be very intelligient, and he has a great comedic personality. He puts the humor into this serious condition of obesity, that tends to ease your worries. At the same time he and his staff makes sure you are aware of the seriousness of the operation.
Dr. Duncan and his staff puts great emphasis on aftercare and follow-up appointments and support groups for your overall healing.
I LOVE DR. DUNCAN HE IS GREAT. EACH TIME I SEE HIM HE REMEMBERS THINGS ABOUT ME AND THAT IS IMPRESSIVE CONSIDERING HE IS THE MOST POPULAR GASTRIC BY PASS DOCTOR IN ATLANTA. THE STAFF NEEDS 2 REDO THEIR PAPERS THEY GIVE OUT AND GET ORGANIZED A LITTLE BETTER. NO ONE EVER RETURNS CALLS. I LEAVE MESSAGES AND IT TAKES SEVERAL PHONE CALLS TO GET SOMEONE ON THE LINE AND HALF THE TIME THEY NEVER MENTION HEARING MY MESSAGE. BUT THEY GOT BETTER AFTER MY SURGERY WAS OVER THEY HAVE NEW MANAGEMENT AND IT MAY BE HELPING. THE STAFF OF DOCTORS AT PEACHTREE SURGICAL AND BARIATRICS ARE GREAT.
My first impression of Dr. Duncan, he is very concerned about your health and that carried a lot of weight with me.
The staff at Peachtree Surgical Center are all very polite and patient.
If you are in the area look up Dr. Duncan because you could not ask for a better physican.
Dr. Duncan has a team set up to help you with your after care and it is wise to take advantage of all the help he has put in place for you.
We had to attend a complications class with Dr. Duncan and in that class he covered everything from start to finish and he also gave heads up on things we can do to make sure we don't have any complications afterwards.
Dr. Duncan gets a 10 in my book.
I believe that both are great characteristics to have.
I found Dr Duncan and his staff to be just GREAT and full of personality and information. I truly trust that I am in good hands! (And they have this paperwork process down to a science....very impressive!)
I met Dr. Duncan for the first time in my hospital room after surgery. I had seen him at the seminar but never again. The first day he came in the room he was very nice and curious about my status. He came in the second day and tried to speak spanish to me :) it was a good effort. His staff is nice overall, they do lack a bit or organization though. What I liked least about Dr. Duncan was the limited time I had to spend with him to talk about the procedure, etc. There are strict dates that you must go to the office for follow up appointments...what has surprised me is that no one has called me after surgery to see how I'm doing except the Blue Cross Blue Shiled nurse. The risks of the surgery were portrayed in documentation and there also was a class that one needs to attend on complications prior to surgery. Overall I would give them a 9 out of 10...Surgical competence was my main focus but bedside manner wasn't too bad.
I first met Dr. Duncan at the Seminar and he has a great humor about him. He didn't leave any stone unturned about the surgery. He doesn't try to talk you into the process at all and lets you know ALL of the risks and benefits of it.I had been very determined to have the WLS before I got there but after the deminar I was over the top with enthusiasm.I also had an office visit the same day as the seminar and there staff if very nice. They even came out into the waiting area and asked if anyone needed anything like water. or anything else. I wouldn't change my mind at all on the choice I made of him.
