Park Nicollet Bariatric Surgery Program Bariatric Center
My first impression of Dr. Jones was that he was a very caring doctor, and that he had an incredible sense of humor. The day of my surgery I was understandably nervous and he put me right at ease, stopping by to chat with my family and myself while I was in the holding area. His staff was equally amazing. When I walked into the operating room my nerves got the better of me and I began to cry, one of the OR nurses said she'd had the surgery herself just 5 months prior and that I would be just fine. The staff at Methodist hospital was amazing and the aftercare is thorough and structured. I would recommend Dr. Jones and the staff at PNC Methodist hospital to anyone looking to have RNY surgery.
Dr. Svendsen was a wonderful surgeon. I was really very nervous when I first met him and he was a very personable and down to earth person. He put all of my fears to rest and I was very calm and trusting going into surgery. I was also very pleased at how soon I was able to get in for my surgery I had less than 2 weeks to wait, but I am not sure if this is normal or not. The day of my surgery he came and visited me prior to my surgery in case I or my parents had any questions. After surgery he visited me twice checking to make sure all was going well. The aftercare is well structured by the nurses and dietician heworks with and I feel confident that they will help guide me along my journey. Park Nicollet also has a great support group that meets twice a month, which is very helpful. I would reccomend Dr. Svendsen to anyone!
The first time I met Dr. Jones was the day we the date for my surgery. He is a very busy man, but took the time to sit down and talk with me. He was very through in giving me information about the procedure and what I needed to do in order to make my weight loss a success. rnrnI have no doubt that he is the Best of the Best. Whenever someone would ask who my surgeon was, they were always impressed and pleased to hear that it was Dr. Jones. rnrnHe has the experience and high success rate to back him up. He knows what he is doing -- having him as my surgeon, I knew that I was in very good hands.rnrnI would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a high quality and experienced doctor.rnrnThank you Dr. Jones!
My first impression was that Dr Svendsen was very personable and would be good with dealing with my family on surgery day. I thought that his office staff was good and as I have had a few more appointments with them, I continue to feel more comfortable. Unfortunately, in this program, you really don’t get to know the surgeon very well. I basically met Dr. Svendsen once after I received my approval from my insurance company. Dr. Svendsen spent a good deal of time talking to me about risks and potential complications, however, he also took time to tell me about his various stats and helped to put my mind at ease. After the surgery, I saw Dr. Svendsen every morning in the hospital. He didn’t spend much time with me, but I felt he would have spent more had I asked questions or had concerns. Overall I was happy with Dr. Svendsen, I would definitely recommend him to someone who was looking to have this procedure. I thought that all in all he was skilled and based on the limited time I spent with him I thought he had a good bedside manner and was very competent.
He was willing to take the time to answer any qustions I had very patient and understanding. I love the nurse it help that they have had the sugery as will so they can relate to the questions that you have my nurse is very patint and understading That he has a lot of exsperence. He has a great after care program. He went over all of the risk in great detail taking time to make sure I realy understood what is was telling me. I would recamend him to everyone. I would say the he has both beside manner and surgical competence.
Totally neat guy. Personable, down to earth, answered any/all questions I had, promised to coordinate my medications and various medical issues with my primary care physician and others involved in my pre-op care.rnrnBarb Johnson, Dr Svensen's nurse, is a hoot! She first and foremost cares about the patients she's dealing with. Dry sense of humor, but very experienced and able to handle difficult situations.rnrnAbdolutely no complaints about staff, process, or facilities.rnrnThis office advocates a very strong, structured aftercare program.rnrnThey were very frank about identifying the risks involved in this type of surgery, but their surgical record speaks for itself. I have the fullest confidence in Dr Svensen and the Park Nicollet Bariatric Surgery program.rnrnMy initial dealing with Dr Svensen was great.rnI feel both competence and bedside manner are important.
