He did not give me to much of an impression, just another doctor to me. I only spent about 30 minutes with him. He was recommend to me by a Kaiser nurse. His staff seams kind of lost and made me worried. The problem I see is organization. They do not know who has done what. He emphasize that aftercare and beforecare was very important. Starting the next day he said to start working on the scheduled meal plan set. He addressed the risks of surgery in a positive manner. I would rate him from a scale from 1-10 a 5 for average. I thing that both surgical competence and bedside manner should be great. He did not a good bedside manner. He made me feel like a number.
Met with the surgeon today and it was a great appointment. I didn't have many questions for him so the appointment went rather quickly. He assured me that even though I am losing weight fast I will still qualify for the surgery. The whole process today was fast and especially what I was hoping for! He was matter of fact and didn't waste time. The office staff was nice and helpful. I got a great hand out booklet from them that outlines the aftercare and procedure. Dr. Fuller is wonderful. The first time I met him was with Dr. Ali. He had just been made a full associate. He is kind , softspoken and has a little sparkle in his eye. I was joking with him and told him he reminded me of Chris Rock because of the sparkle in his eyes and he says he would rather portry the Denzelle Washington persona. Very cute. LOLrnHis office staff is very helpful. Particularly Gracie who is the clinical coordinator who is responsible for getting all the tests reports lined up and in the chart before you can be approved by the surgeon's evaluation committee.rnThe office is very busy. They do 4-5 surgeries a week so that is ove 250 patients per year.rnHe told me that my surgery went well, no leaks, and my liver biopsy was normal. Hallelujah!!!rnI gave him a hug at my 10 day appointment and he said \"Now , you know what to do and the ball is in your court. I did my job now it's your turn.\" rnHe emphasized over and over again that they are always available and made sure that we had all the contact numbers before we left the hospital. They want us to call if there are any problems at all and to make sure we return to UCDMC if there are any problems not some other hospital.rnI would give him a 10 out of 10. rnHis surgical competence and bedside manner are wonderful rnFebruary 2007rnIt has been 15 months since Dr. Fuller had me on the OR table at 297 pounds. This was the first time since he has seen me at 150 pounds. rnI hugged him and told him\"Thankyou for giving me my life back.\" He said \"You did all the work\" I said,\"Yes, but you gave me the tool.\" rnHe was amazed at how I look now. So am I rnThankyou Dr. Fuller I love you!!
Dr.Zorn, is very compassionate & just a overall great, great doctor. With a very sweet big heart, and he is so funny. There is nothing that I do not like about Dr.Zorn. He is awesome! A blessing from GOD.....rnThe staff is great, and very nice.Dr.Zorn is very imformative about the afthercare, the risks of the surgery, very positive. I would have to rate Dr.Zorn as a 10+ on his overall care for me. And, all so Scripps Mercy Hospital was great to me, during my stay of recovery. GREAT staff, great everything.
Dr Rumsey was great- from the first time I meet him he was very nice and always willing to help. The office staff was also great!!! Dr Rumsey explained everything to me- pros and cons and I couldn't be happier withhim and the staff at Pacific Beriatrics.
Dr Fuller is very passionate about his work with bariatrics. The Clinic team is very supportive and I'm highly impressed with Abigail and Judy - the specialty nurses that work with you before and a long time AFTER your surgery to help with the care and weight loss.rnrnI would rate Dr Fuller's surgical competence as EXCELLENT. In spite of my awful hospital stay, my surgeon did an excellent job with the most important thing, which is the surgery - and I'm doing good 9 days out now. My surgery took extra long, 4-5 hours. When Dr Fuller was testing for leaks, the connection to the new pouch kept springing leaks. So he had to disconnect the weak intestine, cut off the weak end piece, and reattach. All seems to be working great now. I had an upper GI and additional x-ray the day after surgery to check it all out. I was really scared that they would have to do more surgery, but all looked good from the GI and x-ray. I spent two night in the hospital and went home about 7PM on the third dayrnrnI would rate Dr. Fuller's bedside manner as reserved, and I would recommend that his patients be sure to be proactive and let him know any concerns or problems they are having in the hospital. He genuinely cares, but his reserve can be intimidating when you’re laying in the hospital bed. I didn’t let him know - and I think my hospital stay would have been much more positive if I had let him know how unhappy I was with the nursing care. rnrnThis is just my personal experience, but I hope it will encourage future patients to have confidence in Dr Fuller and Dr. Ali and their bariatric clinic staff at UCD.
I really like my surgeon. At first he seemed a little less than friendly but once I got to know him he really was a great guy. He made me feel at ease and very confident in his ability to help me.
