I met with Dr. Webber 2/14/03. I had several questions, which he took the time and patience to answer fully. He was friendly, open, and easy to talk to. One thing that I really like about this surgeon is that he performs his surgeries with another surgeon, Dr. Carlin, both highly trained. They will both be there during surgery, which increases my confidence level that much more. They are both youngish and energetic and seem to really enjoy helping people and improving upon their knowledge and expertise. rnHis staff was friendly and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. They have the right idea for patient support - they offer an intro seminar which was informative and gave us an opportunity to meet the surgeon, dietician, and program manager. They have a support group for pre and post ops which is excellent. Plus the on-staff dietician gets rave reviews in her support for post -op patients. I'm glad I made the decision to go to Dr. Webber and Dr. Carlin - now comes the trials of trying to get insurance approval! rnrnDr. Carlin is surgical partner to my surgeon, Dr. Webber. Dr. Carlin facilitated the intro seminar that I attended and answered my many questions with honesty and patience.
I met Dr. Wood for the first time in December of 2007. I had heard wonderful things about him from friends and family that had had him as their surgeon. However, I was not really comfortable until I did some research on his credentials and experience. When I met him in person, I had no doubt in my mind that I had chosen the right surgeon. He has a great sense of humor and he made me feel very comfortable. Even though he is a very busy man, I did not feel rushed and he answered all of my questions. My mind is at ease with Dr. Wood as my surgeon.
My main criteria for choosing Dr. Wood were his credentials. He continues to conduct research into obesity, he's both a pioneer and an innovator, he has accumulated a great deal of experience, and is considered one of the best in his field. The fact that he's also a nice guy is just icing on the cake.rnrnHis office staff are really super nice and very caring and professional, but they could use a few hours with a communications consultant to sort out and streamline some of their administrative processes. They also need to thoroughly review all of their literature and remove the typos, omissions, redundancies and old information. It's a small point, for sure, but it might be offputting to some people who place a great deal of importance on such things.
my first impression of dr woods was a very good one. i found him very informative and took time to explained things to you. his staff was very helpful and seem willing to help get you the help you needed. there not anything negative i can say about dr. woods. each year dr. woods gives his patientsa pinic. he called and checked on you after surgery. i would rate dr. woods an excellent surgery with a very witty bedside manner. i love my dr. woods.
I am disatisfied with the follow up of Dr. Wood. When I had my surgery he was affiliated with Cori Centers, soon after he left there and opened his own center. He switched hospitals which was ok. I am now 5 years out and I have seen Dr. wood maybe 3 times since my surgery. I saw another doctor in his office about 2 years ago and did not care for him at all. As a surgeon which is most important to me Dr. Wood is great, but, otherwise I would not reccomend. I went back for my post surgery check up with an issue of a bulge in my upper stomach and he said it was nothing. Well my PCP sent me to see my general surgeon and directly after my visit to him I had a hernia repai and my scar which was keloid was repaired by him also. I think Dr. Wood should have taken more time to verify that it was not a hernia.
Dr. Webber was patient and answered all my questions. He has been very helpful even after the surgery.
My first impression of Dr.Webber was he has a good spirit upon him that he loves his job and that whom ever is in his hands he will take good care of you.My impression of Dr.Webber will not change and he will be recommened by me any time.It wasn't anything least about Dr.Webber I didn't like he's just nice..Future patients should know that when Dr.Webber say's that you're in good hands trust his word because I was in the care of his hands and all I can say is that I'm feeling good and I don't have no pain..Dr.Webber emphasize aftercare really well because like I said I'm not feeling no pain and I'm doing just what he tells me to do to recover and to be healthy again..Yes Dr.Webber has a aftercare program..Dr.Webber address the risks of surgery by saying that follow the precidure and do as you told to do as of pre and post dieting and you will be fine..I would rate Dr.Webber as a full100% doctor and his staff was awsome...Surgical competence and bedside manner are both great because I was comfortiable all while I was in the care of Dr.Webber and his staff..
Well, let me continue with my honesty, I never believed in having a black male doctor due to the fact that I am a black woman, he is a man, and it is/was possible that he may have found me to be atrractive or he may date a friend or someone I know, etc. , so I don't need him \"up in my personal business\", if you know what I mean. Smile!!!rnrnAnyways, Dr. Woods was a little late for the groups consult, which was fine. He is very personable, humourous, and knowledgeable.rnrnHe is a pioneer in the field of bariactric surgery and expressed that in his presentation.rnrnThe office staff has been very friendly and resourceful. I will update again after surgery.rnrnDuring my hospital stay, Dr. Wood and his staff were great. They came to visit once or twice a day. My husband had to work one day and asked for the Dr. to call him, Dr. Woods waited for me to call my husband on my cell to speak with him. I thought that was quite impressive.
