Your New Self - DMC Weight Loss Solutions Bariatric Center
Dr. Wood himself is a good doctor, he's pretty positive and encouraging. He does require a lot of testing, I had an ulcer which was found by EGD, in total I had to have three, that's not an insurance requirement. Most of my problems are with my insurance coordinator at his office, I've had to have my testing done twice because she never follows through, she does not return phone calls, etc. Because of this it has taken me two years to get my final approval for surgery and go to scheduling.
I was going to have the Lapband by Dr Webber and changed my mind about 3yrs ago. I want the sleeve. I'm ready and I want Dr Webber. I need to register for the next presentation.

Dr. Webber did my surgery in 2008. I had MAJOR complications, none of which were his fault. Just bad luck. I sought him out because he's the best of the best as far as surgery.
BE WARNED: He'll treat you then street you. After care sucks. His dietician is sorely outdated with her information and he doesn't seem to care.
They do have a support group that meets downtown Detroit once a month. Too far for me to drive.
Harper Hospital had the worse staff ever. My care was awful. Nobody knew how to care for a gastric bypass patient and I waited TWO HOURS once for anyone to answer my nurse call to fix my IV.
If you have complications he does call you personally. He promised me he'd visit daily and did even if for a minute. He's busy so ramble the questions off a list when you see him! His understudies do the grunt work and they are amazing students. You can trust them. They've studied under the best.
So if you want the best surgeon, he's your man. But get support for after care elsewhere.
Dr. Wood is an awesome doctor. He performed the gastric sleeve surgery on me without any post-op complications. He is very informative and knowlegeable. He is very friendly with his patients and family members. His office staff is very helpful and informative. If I had to recommend a doctor to perform bariatric surgery it definitely would be Dr. Wood. Thank You Dr. Wood for everything...

Dr woods is great surgeon knows his stuff.....But his office lacks big time I advise do not get a lap band get a sleeve or gastic bypass and you will be 100 percent happy with Dr.Woods office. When you have an emergency call please do not expect a phone call back from his medical team. This is twice now they have done this to me.. Glad it is the last ..
My Doctor was sooo wonderful. He was understanding. He makes you feel like you are a personal and not a dollar sign. So down to earth and really cared about how I felt. There was no rush to get up and out the hospital. He and his staff at the hospital made sure i was well informed of what was to come, how and why i feel the way I did and everything. They covered everything, all I's dotted and all T crossed :) I would definately recommend this "family" I call them that because thats how they treated me. Thank you for giving me a new lease on life Dr.Woods, forever grateful, Sara.
