He is concerned with the obesity problem in America and is doing something about it. I am grateful to him for helping me with something I was unable to do by myself. He is very careful with his patients and honest about setting realistic goals. His office staff is very kind and very helpful. Future patients should have no hesitation. He is very conservative with post op follow up and post op dieting. There are three stages of post op dieting that advance very slowly over three weeks time until the first post op fill. He is patient, answers all questions, addressed all concerns, and comes highly recommended by me!rnI went to him fully aware of what I wanted. I had researched the lap band, I had spoken with many people who had it, I was totally sold on it by the time I went to see him for a presurgical consult so my questions were few, my concerns were few and my misgivings were few. i was 100% prepared for the surgery before I even met him. He was referred to me by one his patients. If anyone reads this and chooses Dr. Nusbaum I pray they will have the same experience I had. But, go in prepared. Know what you are heading into before you make your choice.

I can only say great things about Dr. Nusbaum. My initial consultation changed my life. He gave me hope and was so understanding. I thought to my self that he must have given that presentation explaining the procedure to thousands of people but when he was explaining thing to me, he was talking to me. It was not a version he rehearsed before I walked in the office. Trust me when I say this was important because the first surgeon I saw before Dr. Nusbaum I had asked a question while he was doing his speech and he lost his place and had to restart form the previous slide.rnrnDuring the whole process he was fabulous. He has a way about him that just keeps you calm and you just know you will be fine in his care.rnrnIf you live in New Jersey and are thinking about a weight loss procedure you owe it to your self to see Dr. Nusbaum.rnrnThere is nothing negative at all that I could say about Dr. Nusbaum or his staff. Top knotch care coming out of Livingston NJ!

Dr. Nusbaum is an excellent surgeon. I was very nervous and I had to wait a few minutes because my blood pressure went up a little. He came in and smile and held my hand and said you're going to do great dont worry.rnrnHe instructed me after what to do and not to do so I would have success. He is wonderful.rnrn

When I first met Dr. Nusbaum, I was impressed by how warm and personable he was. He's a surgeon, after all. When he examined me and could tell that I was feeling self conscious about my fat back, he said \"we're going to make it (the fat) all go away\". I believed him. And he was right. From the beginning, his office staff was efficient and helpful. They helped me navigate managed care's hurtles and you know there were many. There was a strong emphasis on aftercare, vitamins, protein, the need to see a nutritionist or metabolic specialist and healthy eating. He addressed the risks but didn't scare me. I knew what I wanted and who I wanted to perform my RNY...finding Dr. Nusbaum was the best stroke of luck I've had short of meeting my husband. He was very professional, very careful and equally caring. I can't say enough about him and would highly recommend anyone considering RNY or Lap Band surgery see him. I've had NO complications whatsoever. I am 10 months out and have lost 120+ pounds. I will be forever grateful to him for his careful and caring work on my behalf. Unlike friends who have been treated at Morristown and other NJ hospitals and have had complications, Dr. Nusbaum's patients have nothing but raves for his surgical ability. Best of luck to you!

dr. nussbaum on first meeting was friendly, and very informative. he is very young looking, but don't let that fool you, he is very experienced and knowledgable. his office staff is easy to work with, and will call back when they say they will. because i have many medical problems and chronic conditions, he would not do the gastric bypass, which i was happy to know that he put safety first. so i had the lap ban procedure.everything was explained in detail to me and my husband, including the risks, and how after the surgery continuing care and visits to him would continue. because they don't take my insurance, they worked with me and my insurance carrier to provide the best solutions for the problem, and i have to say, they did most of the work for that. the whole process was such a great experience, and i have had many hospitalizations and surgeries over the last 26 yrs.to compare it to. i feel like dr. nussbaum gave me my life back. my only regret is that i didn't do this years ago. he is a great dr as well as a nice person.

I found Dr. Nusbaum to be the BEST surgeon in the entire tri-sate area. He's extremely knowledgeable, meticulous, and cares about his patients. His staff is outstanding and is on top of everything. They return my calls quickly and are always happy to help. Dr. Nusbaum explained everything thuroughly before the surgery. When I was in the pre-surgery area at St Barnabas all the nurses I met told me, not only that I had the best surgeon but that they all loved him and they would go to him over all other surgeons! He did an outstanding job with my surgery. And has been there for me whenever I need him after my surgery. He takes a hands on approach to each of his patients and stays on top of us after the surgery. His program is comprehensive with a team of Dietitians, Metabolic Doctors, Nurse Bariatric Co-ordinators, Physical therapists and psychologsits. I've been attending his Obesity and Weight Management Center at the ACC since I decided to go ahead with the surgery. I highly recommend that you utilize all the resources that this practice offers. My surgery went so smoothly that it was more painful to go out and by my last car than it was to have my banding done. He's the man!

OK, I'm very skeptical about a lot of things and I approached Bariatric surgery the same way. I went to a seminar in Morristown, then one in Hackensack and yet another in New Brunswick. None of the surgeons impressed me. I'm a charge nurse in a busy ER and I can size up a doc quickly. Each one of them seemed like they were either hocking snake oil or were more interested in the money than anything else. Then we had a patient come into our ER with a blocked LapBand. She ate some food that she new that she shouldn't and it got stuck. She told me that her doc was Dr. Nusbaum. I said I've heard of him but I haven't gone to see him yet. She couldn't stop raving about him. So, I called his office to find he was on vacation at a conference in NYC. I told the service the problem and they put me right through to him. He was very nice and supportive. I put the patient on the phone with him. Afterward, she told me that she was leaving and that Dr. Nusbaum was going to meet her in his office even though he was on vacation. I couldn't believe it. The next day, the patient called me to tell me that everything was great. He took the fluid out, had her drink and flush out the food and then put the fluid back in and never even charged her. Well, I had to check this guy out. Every nurse I spoke with knew of him and had a similar story or had nothing but great things to say about him.rnLong story short. All the stories were true. He did my lap band, I went down 86 lbs in about a year. Then, to my surprise I got pregnant. The reason I was surprised was that the infertility docs who had given me after 6 cycles of IVF that I would NEVER get pregnant. Wrong! I must say that Dr. Nusbaum is the most caring, intelligent, understanding and supportive surgeon that I have ever known. He will always go that extra mile for his patients and he cares very deeply about all of them. This seems very personal to him and he deeply wishes the best for all his patients. I can tell. There's no need to rate this doc. He's the best in my book and I've seen many.

I had my LapBand surgery with Dr. Nusbaum just over a year ago. I found out about him through several co-workers. They all loved him and told me that he was the safest and best surgeon in NJ for this surgery. Now that I have had the surgery with him I can't agree more. He is so maticulous and so carful about what he does. In addition to his skill, he is the most compashionate surgeon that I have ever met. He was so calm and re-assuring and he was there every time I needed him. I'm now down 126 lbs and I'm in the best health of my life. I figure another couple of months and I'll drop down below the 150 mark. I haven't been there since 6th grade. Dr. Nusbaum has changed my life and has helped so many people. His online support group has over 2,000 patients registered and they all rave about him- including me. When I saw his name listed as a \"TOP DOC\" in NJ Monthly, it was just confirmation of how I feel about him. He has won so many awards for his skill and compashion and they are all well deserved. I can't say enough about him, his wonderful staff- Wanda, Denise and Shelly. I tell everyone about them and recomend Dr. Nusbaum to family and friends. He's the best and it shows. Thanks Doc!

I know that this has been long overdue. I'ts been nearly four years since my bypass and my new life so I have to tell my story.rnI was big. Not just big but big big- ya know what I mean. I thought I liked it that way. I was fine and happy to be me. Sure I had some things I couldn't do but I got by. Then I got the sugar diabetes and the blood pressure. That scared me. So I was in the parlor getting my doo when the girls kinda got to chatting.rnTwo of them went to Dr. Nausbaum. They loved him. So I wanted to se for myself. The first time I met him I said- Damn it's doogie! Sorry doc- he's a cuttie. So, I liked him too and went for the stapling.rnI started out a size 28 and now four years later I'm a fine lookin 6! Sure I had my boobs lifted. They looked like two popped balooons. But two implants later and - WOW! I also got the chicken wings and the tummy flab taken off.rnDr. Nausbaum changed my life forever and he's always in my prayers. I send all my friends and family to him and sometimes people I meet at church or on the street who were where I was.rnKeep up the great work doc- we love you.
