Dr. Ren was very nice she is a very dedicated surgeon, very straight forward, honest with the expectations we have of surgery. Although she can be scary because she tells you like it is I feel very comfortable with my choice to use Dr. Ren.
I would recommend her to anyone seeking weight lose surgery, she does lap-band,rny, bds/ds,etc. The office staff was very helpful, most of her staff has had lapband procedures done themselves, so they really understand what we are going through. She is really big on aftercare though. Her aftercare program is very structured you have to see her several times first year, and then once or twice every year there after. They have support groups, and you must see the nutrionist also.

I can't say anything but wonderful things about Dr. Ren and her entire staff. They are helpful knowledgeable and supportive, not that I needed much because everything went pretty smoothly. I highly recommend her to anyone interested in this procedure.

Doctor Ren and her staff gave me the caring and professional treatment that I expected, and that we all deserve. She is a skilled bariatric surgeon, and, three years later, the laparoscopic duodenal switch she performed still appears to have been executed flawlessly.

Dr. Ren wa highly recommended to me by several people who had the surgery performed by her. I also consulted with another surgeon before going back to her. My first consultation was a pleasure - her office was very busy, yet I felt completely taken care of and she spent a great deal of time with me reviewing the Bypass procedure and answering all my questions. I never feel rushed when speaking with her or her staff.

Dr. Ren's office staff operates with the utmost of caring and individuality - they bever make me feel like I am interrupting them or that my questions a re trivial - I feel like they know who I am when I call.

Dr. Ren is adamant about aftercare. I will see her at 3 weeks after surgery for my first post-op visit.

The risks of the surgery were explained in great detail by Dr. Ren - although I had read a great deal about the risks she made sure I understood everything completely.

Dr. Ren has that unique combination of bedside manner and superior technical skills. My father wa a surgeon and I know it is not always easy to find both in one physician. She is superb!

I met Dr. Ren over a year ago. We work in the same hospital (NYU Medical Center). Initially, I wanted to have the Gastric Banding - and so I was banded in January 2003. Unfortunately, I was one of the few people for whom the band is really not a good option. I had horrible pain with it, and vomiting. So Dr. Ren and I talked about removing the band and changing to the BPD. After a lot of thought - the BPD is such a major surgery - I decided to go ahead with it. I had surgery on Thursday, Oct 30. So it's been almost a week now, and I'm very uncomfortable, but not really in pain. The surgery, including band removal, went very smoothly and now I just have to wait and see if the BPD will be the right thing for me.

Dr, Ren, her office staff, Dr. Huberman and everyone else at NYU has been very competent and friendly. I have no complaints.

Dr. Ren was terrific and her office staff was so uplifting! I'm happy to have chosen here as my surgeon and I think working with all of them will be a positive experience.

My first visit w/ a surgeon was with Dr. Borao in Shrewsbury, NJ. I thought he was very professional. He took time to explain both the LapBand and the RNY in detail and he answered all of my questions like they all were important, not like he had been spewing out the same facts over and over again every day of his life. I really appreciated that, especially because I am a big sissy when it comes to pain! He recommended the support group at Monmouth Medical Center, and said I should think about going before and after surgery. He also had 2 patients in the waiting room who were a few weeks post op with the LapBand, and said that I was more than welcome to talk to them and see what they had to say. He did address the risks of surgery, and though he did say, there is always a risk, because some people have died, he said that he has never lost a patient, and that I was a very good candidate because of my age (36) and that I don't have any major health problems...YET. Incidentally, I was told that the wait for surgery is 12-18 MONTHS! The reason I chose him is all the wonderful things everyone has said about him on this website, and when I met with him, that was the first thing I told him.

I selected Dr. Ren with no regrets. She is a professional and she cares about her patients. She provides follow-up and a five star team that takes care of all your needs, from billing, administrative support, Physician Assistant, Nutritionist and medical staff in general.

I felt I was in great and safe hands.

No regrets at all.

Fist impression of Dr. Ren was great, seemed very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her work. She is a very experienced Lap band surgeon.

My Surgery at NYU with Dr. Ren on 05/23 was a very positive experience, I felt at all times that Dr. Ren and her staff were there to answer any questions that I had. They were all very knowledgeable and helpful.

I can always reach Dr. Ren's office on the phone and her office staff seem competent and efficient.

As yet I have not experienced the aftercare, but if all other indicators are correct, this should also be a very positive experience.

I can honestly say that I did not have any negative experience whatsoever.
