This was not my first experience with the GI surgical staff at NMFF. They are all very professional, experienced and instill a high degree of confidence.

The bariatric surgery is all part of a structured program through the Wellness Center. They provide pre-op and post op programs.

Dr. Nagle has an excellent reputation at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He is very concerned with answering any questions and making sure you understand everything he is telling you. He seems very confident and focused.

Dr. Nagle was great. He answered all of my questions, was patient with me, and was never condescending. His office emailed me a pre-surgery video to watch that went over the surgery, potential complications, etc. That was helpful, informative. While I was in the hospital, he wasn't able to come to see me, but the nurse practitioner was there every day (along with the gaggle of med students since this is a teaching hospital). It wasn't so bad, even though you're laid out like a beached whale. At my follow up visit a week after, he was great, told me everything went really well. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Nagle. My surgery was uneventful (thankfully) so Dr. Nagle really didn't have much to do outside of the operating room. Dr. Nagle works with Northwestern's Wellness Institute and all the aftercare is done there. He was very clear about following the nutritionists directions, starting a regular exercise routine, etc. Everyone is really great to work with.

Wow, he's my surgeon? he looks my age..young

My impression of doctor Nagle didn't need to change. I checked in medical backgroud
and I knoew that the Wellness Institute only work w/the best doctors.

Friendly,non-judgemental

I have NOTHING NEGATIVE to say about Dr Nagle.

Future patients should know that Dr. Nagle and the Wellness Institute, allowed me a new start at a "2nd" life. I know that Dr. Nagle is always avail for my questions. If not then, his RN Liz Haney will follow through. Dr. Nagle is a good listener and during this time of worry and distress, he answered all my questions and I was truly at piece with my decision.

After care is #1....you must follow thru. I would not have been as sucessful as I have been w/o it. When Dr. Nagle say's NO SWEETS
be means it, because it will slow your weight-loss. I listen to him because I refuse to be a failure after having major
surgery.

I was given Dr. Nagle via Dr. Kushner at the Wellness Institute. Yes, My aftercare program is structured. I see a Dietian, Laurie, monthly and Dr. Kushner for follow-up and Dr. Nagle. I'm doing wonderful because of aftercare.

I was told of ALL RISKS of surgery. Dr Nagle explained to me that if something went wrong during surgery and lap was no longer an option, than he would perform the 6-10 inch open. I also was clear about the risk of gallbladder removal and death. I was told about surgery time, recovery, gas pains...there were no surprises that I wasn't already aware of. I felt no pain!!

I rate Dr. Nagle an A+ overall

Both are great

Dr. Nagle and his staff are awesome. This was my first surgery ever and he put me at ease. Dr. Nagle and his staff were very attentive before and after surgery, making sure everything was going right and keeping me informed. I recommend Dr. Nagle and the NWM staff to everyone.

I really thought he was great! He's performed this surgery so much til it's programed in his head but he was wonderful explaining everything. I liked the fact that he didn't glorify the surgery he made sure I knew what I was getting into and how much I'd have to change. He also talked a lot about why it was important to attend the support classes which happen to be one of the reasons I chose NW that and their outstanding reputation. His staff was also helpful with explaining the stages I'd have to go through before and after surgery. Igive Dr Nagle and his staff a perfect 10!

I have only met with Dr. Nagle once so far, he seems very down to earth and approachable. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The bariatric program at Northwestern involves several group classes and appointments with dietitians and psychologists at The Wellness Institute before you meet with surgeon. It is a very comprehensive program.

Respectful , emphatetic and knowledgeable also has surrounded himself with great nurses and uses the Wellness Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for a complete an thorough pre and post-op program. Has done well over 300 lap/gastric bypass surgeries and everything he said was accurate. In and out in 2 days w/o complications. Post-op and after care are mandatory and vital for success.

Dr. Nagel has both skill and agreat bedside manner. I was very impressed. I'm also a nurse and a graduate of Northwestern University and would not consider any other facility or staff. The Wellness Center has an organized, efficient and knowledgable staff of Physicians, Dieticians, Pschologists to cal upon at any time as well as group support/classes where you learn from each other which are the greatest.

I love Dr Nagle. He made me feel comfortable and belive it or not made me feel very beautiful inspite of the fact of being 310lbs before surgery.

It has never changed and somtimes i flirt. he smells so good and handsome.

The DR's and staff at northwestern belive of teaching before surgery. very strong on education about diet before and after surgery.

This is a life-style change not a diet or something that you can reverse. you have to want this change and be prepared. they will not perform it if you are not ready. The Wellness center where i go the stress the inportance of your diet after surgery and they stay with you for a year after surgery and all the will they are teaching you.
They answerd every ? i had (not to scare any one but we know the risk of this surgery "death") the explaine all the risk in full detail.Dr Nagle gets an A+ with Honours. Both are great. because if you get a patient like me who was fine until my surgery date which was 4-26-04 i thought i had something in my throat. but doc came in with that smile and eased my fears.let me know that every thing was ok and even sent the dr in who would render me unconcious to double check to make sure.
