Northwestern Medicine Digestive Health Center Weight Loss Surgery Program Bariatric Center
Dr. Nagle is the best GI surgeon in Chicago. He's extremely nice and works with amazing office staff. He made sure I was well taken care of in the hospital and came to visit me twice with a big smile on his face! he meets with patients very soon after surgery for a post-op class with a dietician. He adresses all the risks and lets you know right away if you're a high or low risk and what surgery will give you the best results.
The first time i saw Dr. nagel he was very kind and very imformative. I explained the long journey i have been on and he didn't ignore me like alot of doctors and professionals have, i was very impressed and touched with his care and professionalism. He answered all my questions very well. i was told of the risks and the pros and cons.
Dr. Nagle and his team did a wonderful job. My whole experience from consultation to approval to surgery went without any complication. Everyone knew what to do and when to do it. This has been a great experience and I feel much better 2 weeks post-op than I ever expected I would.rnrnI would encourage everyone to keep in mind that the process with NMH does not go fast and to be patient. Their program is worth it.

Dr. Nagle is the cream of the crop. I'm so glad he was my surgeon. I felt like I got the best possible care I could have ever hoped for from him. My first impression was \"now this is the dude I want to operate on me\". I had total and utmost trust in him. I had heard good things about him before I met him in person, and he did not disappoint. Even the morning of surgery when I was extremely calm about the whole thing and my family commented on it, all I could tell them was I was confident in my decision to have Dr. Nagle perform the procedure...no second thoughts about it. Dr. Nagle's office staff is friendly and extremely efficient. I was treated like a queen (and rightfully so!) The fact that Dr. Nagle works closely with the Wellness Institute for pre and post op care is very important to me. There is a support group that meets monthly at Northwestern and is key to the sucess of their program. In a nutshell: if you live in the Chicagoland area do not walk - run - to Dr. Nagle!
I feel like I can give an honest opinion of Dr. Nagle, now that i am 6 months post op. Nobody can ever say anything bad about Dr. Nagle, he is the best in his field. I had no complications and followed my diet. I lost 124 lbs already at 6 months out. Dr. Nagle always answered all of my questions, and if he did'nt have the answer he would find it out. His staff is excellent and keeps in close contact with you during and after the surgery. Thank you Dr. Nagle for giving me my re-incarnation. I look forward to seeing you at my next appointment. Your number 1 fan...Kathy V. :)
2 weeks out, I feel comfortable reviewing my surgeon. Dr. Nagle was really great. IT was a bit hectic going in to surgery, as I understand he had to tend to another patient beforehand so I didn't get a chance to speak with him prior to. But his residents and fellow docs were all great.rnrnAs for the actual surgery, everything went perfectly. No complications, small incisions, and he popped in everyday to make sure I was ok. I left the hospital in 2 days, and have never had any complications.rnrnI'll be honest, I didn't see a lot of him. That is ok, I kind of figured this is how it would work going to a big hospital like Northwestern is. I wanted the best care and I feel like I got it.
I think Dr. Nagle is a wonderful, caring doctor. I initially met Dr. Nagle in December of 2005 for my evaluation for RNY. I found during my pre-op tests that I had iron deficiency and later it was discovered that I had colon cancer. Dr. Nagle informed me that he was unable to do the RNY due to the cancer. Dr. Nagle performed my colectomy in May of 2006 and he took such great care of me, that I know that when I do have the RNY, I will be in good hands. He is just great.rnrnWell, I finally had my surgery on July 30, 2007. My surgery went very well. Dr. Nagle and his staff did a wonderful job taking care of me.rnrnQ: What was your first impression of him? A: Very professional, caring doctor and very informative.
