The staff and doctors are amazing at the New York Bariatric Group! They are always patient and helpful. Also very understanding and pro-active with questions, problems, ect. After LapBand surgery I feel fantastic. For the last 6 years I would not have to worry of my clothes would fit. I was able to maintain my weight loss. I also have so much more energy.

Outstanding experience. Dr. Sommer has been great. I had my surgery on August 21st and I am already down 95lbs. He and his staff has been nothing but supportive throughout the process. I only wish I had done this sooner.

Dr Sommer is caring and concerned. He answered all questions I had asked. Ruthie in his office was a great help with everything. I would recommend the group to all those who need to loose weight. Since I started I have lost 30lbs in a month.

I had a wonderful experience with the New York Bariatric Group. I love the office and staff. Whenever I had to call my questions were always answered. My surgery was in August and I feel "pain free' in my hips already. I love the energy and the compliments I receive daily.

Before LapBand surgery I was frustrated. I was always worried about my health. Now, I feel energetic and my confidence has increased. I never realized how little you can eat while still feeling satisfied. Dr. Garber has been fantastic through this whole process. He is very accessible.

I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy on 9-25-13 and a little over 2 months later, I'm feeling great. I have lost 44 lbs total and am now off most of my medications, can walk and talk at the same time, have a lot more energy and can actually work out with feeling like I'm near death. The process from start to finish was pretty smooth dealing with Ruthie who fielded my many phone calls with questions. She helped me through the approval process which can seem overwhelming but she made it easier and guided me through it. She was always available for whatever I needed.
Dr. Sommer is very easy to talk to and never minded answering my thousands of questions.
I'm about half way to my goal and I'm very much looking forward to that day when I'm back to the old me. The benefits I have received so far have been tremendous. Thanks NYBG!

Life before surgery was very frustrating. Was weight would go up and down like a roller coaster to the point where weight control was not effective. I had lost the energy to do anything about it...until I met Dr. Sommer. After surgery, i am inspired to start a life of healthy eating and leaving obesity behind. Dr. Sommer is an angel, very kind, and informative and the best bed side manner I have ever experienced!

Before surgery, life was hard whenever I tried to do any physical work. I was out of breath very quickly. I was starting to get some medical problems like high blood pressure and diabetes. After surgery, life is very good! I am no longer taking any medication. I am doing whatever I want even things I did when I was younger. The experience with Dr. Sommer was great! The staff is very helpful. I am glad that Dr. Sommer came to the Hudson Valley area.

Life before surgery was a worry. A worry with my overall health. I have diabetes, RA and Asthma. My morbidity was something I feared. It is early in the game, however, since my surgery my blood surgar has been well managed! 1 week after surgery I was off all my diabetic medication. I look forward to a thinner and healthier me! Dr. Sommer, obviously a wealth of information, performed to my medical and surgical needs. His caring and nurturing approach along with his wisdom put me at total ease. I look forward to my new journey. I am grateful to Dr. Sommer for guiding me in this journey! Jackie, Monica & the additional office staff have always been professional, courteous, and friendly. If there was questions- there was always an answer. If they didn't have it, their response time was quick and efficient. I absolutely recommend Dr. Sommer and the New York Bariatric Group to anyone interested in weight loss surgery.
