I am feeling absolutely amazing since I had my sleeve procedure with Dr. Sommer about 6 weeks ago! I have lost about 45lbs so far and am able to do things now that I was not able to before without getting winded! The office manager Ruthie is absolutely amazing and made sure all the paperwork was done when it had to be done and constantly deals with all my nagging questions with a smile! I would (and have) recommend this office to everyone I know!!!!

I am feeling great since I had the sleeve procedure about 10 weeks ago. It was the best decision I ever made. I lost a total of about 40 lbs since and the best part is that my blood glucose levels are normal and I don't need the meds and other any more. Ruthie the office assistant is the best you would meet. She is very informative, helpful, prompt, accomodating and took care of the insurance approval process very timely. Thanks Dr. Sommer and the team at NYBG!

Life before surgery was full of laziness, fast food, and sadness. I hated the way I looked and I didn't know how to make "it" up. Life after surgery is AMAZING! I have more energy and I can shop in regular stores! The New York Bariatric Group is Awesome! I love Dr. Garber and his staff. They make the whole experience worth a million bucks.

I recently had surgery with Dr. Sommer and was very impressed from start to finish with the quality of care I received from the Dr. and also from Ruthie. I would highly recommend this office to someone who is interested in this procedure.

Before surgery I was constantly exhausted and out of breath all the time. After lapband surgery with Dr. Garber I have so much more energy. I feel healthier and my blood pressure is much better. Dr. Garber and his staff are all extremely helpful and pleasant.

I had a great experience with Dr. Holover of the New York Bariatric Group. He is a great doctor. Prior to surgery I was on medication for hypertension and high cholesterol. Today I am off all medications, I have no joint pain and feel the best I have in 20 years. I have lost over 90lbs with lapband surgery.

Dr Sommer is great doctor, he was so patient answering ALL my questions. From start to finish every step of the process was laid out for me and there were no surprises. I had my surgery was on Jan 22nd and I am down 25 pounds. I am so thankful that I found New York Bariatric Group!

Dr Sommer is wonderful.He listens,answered all my questions in a way anyone could understand. My surgery was in October,and since then I have lost 30+ pounds. It has been everything he said was going to be,no surprises. Ruthie in the office is the sweetest, it's a pleasure to there. No dread of doctors office/visit. I don't think yuo would go wrong to go with Dr Sommer.

I've had my initial consultation with Dr. Sommer and found him to be pleasant, kind, willing to answer all my questions. Very open to my veganism and inclination to eat as organic as I can, he even suggested a brand of protein powder he likes that I might want to check out. I would recommend him, especially to those like myself who often get hassled by mainstream medical folks when they express a hope for minimal medical intervention, as few drugs as possible and no animal products in their diet. UPDATE: I've now had my surgery with Dr. Sommer and could not possibly be more pleased. He is congenial, reassuring and patient. The office runs on schedule, you are not sitting there waiting an hour past your appointmen time. The assistants, Ruthie and Carleen are as friendly, supportive and helpful as the doctor himself. I am thrilled with how my recovery has gone so far. Had my one week post-op appointment and he was so encouraging I had to hug him before I left. If you're tired of folks who only tell you how they want things done and don't listen to your questions or opinions Dr. Sommer is the surgeon you want to see. I feel fantastic, I had great care at Hudson Valley Hospital where he performed the procedure, received calls checking on me after discharge and am already watching the scale go down. I had a sleeve gastrectomy with Dr. Garber and lost 100lbs! Before my surgery, I was tired all the time and I had Type II Diabetes. Now, I have energy and feel great! The staff at the Port Jefferson office has been wonderful and very helpful every time I come into the office.
